  1. You can also use a coax "F" male to RCA adapter. http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=f%20male%20to%20rca&origkw=f%20male%20to%20rca&sr=1 They usually result in a better picture than using a switchbox. Some Ebay sellers try to get upwards of $5 + ship for them... but you can buy them at your local Radio Shack for $4.
  2. Thanks for the info. Went ahead and ordered a FTDI chipset based adapter from USBgear.com about a week ago and arrived today. Works perfectly!
  3. I got around $300 for a loose Stronghold cart I sold via Ebay about 5 years ago and it was a bit rougher than yours.
  4. Hi, I've heard several reports of people successfully using cheaper RS232 to USB adapters with AspeQt... but I've tried everything I can think of with mine and haven't been successful. Anyone here successfully using one of these adapters (like the blue colored ones with silver braided cords sold on Ebay by Hong Kong sellers for a few bucks) with AspeQt and could give me some pointers? If I could get my Aspire One netbook to talk to my 130xe... it would be like Christmas in April! Thanks, SP
  5. Update... Just found your newer "Craigslist Score" post and looks like you got the last two. Great job!
  6. Did you get your new boxed 130xe? I bet you're talking about the guy in Tulsa / Broken Arrow who originally advertised several of them on Tulsa Craigslist. I drove down from SW MO about 2 weeks ago and bought one of the last 3 he had. I told him to advertise the others on Atari Age to get a better response, so it looks like he finally did. If you need his contact info, feel free to PM me or reply with your E-mail address. I have his cell number somewhere around here. The one I got from him was truly new in the box and works great. He said he got a few cartons of them when he was laid off by the TV Guide Channel back in the late 90's when they had pallets of them sitting in a warehouse. Must have been a sight to see. In any case... he's a very nice guy and was a pleasure to meet. SP
  7. First off, I appreciate all of the replies. Been awhile since I've reviewed this post. I never received the cable. I E-mailed bitrom several times around 4 to 6 weeks after purchasing the cable to check on shipping status and never received a reply. Paypal's 45 day dispute deadline started approaching, so I filed a dispute with them thinking he would at least respond to that... but still no reply. Finally two weeks later I escalated it to a claim and received a refund less than 10 minutes after doing so... and that was on a Sunday afternoon. I don't know how I got it so quickly since their website says it usually takes a month, but somehow I got it in record speed. I'm surprised bitrom knows nothing about this since I'm sure even Paypal tried to contact him about the dispute and refund. I just assumed he agreed to it since I had no way in knowing otherwise. I got a full refund, so it's a closed case in my books. Steve
  8. Hi all, I'm trying to run AtariWinPlus 4.0 on my two laptops, but it runs slowly... about 35% on my Toshiba P150 MMX laptop and about 75% on my AMD Athlon 1600 laptop. I've tried decreasing the display size and other tips via the Help file without much success. Any thoughts? Are there other Atari 8-Bit computer emulators that might run better on older machines? Thanks
  9. Dang... just heard about this and I'm driving to Tulsa on Saturday, but can't make it down as far as OKC. Anyway... sounds fun! Steve
  10. Hi all, Anyone here... especially those in the USA... ever purchase a SIO2PC cable from Ebay user "bitrom"? He's from Poland and has a great 99% feedback rating, but I've been waiting 6+ weeks for it to arrive and two E-mails to him over the past few weeks have went unanswered. It seems most of his negative feedbacks include updates saying their cables finally arrived... so I'm a bit hesitant about filing a Paypal claim... but I really need that cable. Anyone in the USA ever deal with him and, if so, how long did it take to get the order? Thanks, Steve
  11. I remember back around 1983 when a Montgomery Wards store in Kansas City had a huge pile of Bally Astrocade's on clearance for around $25 each. I begged my parents for one, but that was the last thing they were going to buy me. I've looked for them at flea markets for years, but have never seen one turn up other than Ebay.
  12. Mid 80's Sony KV1311CR 13" TV / Monitor combo. Has a handy front panel mounted RCA RF / AV jack for the Atari stuff... plus composite and RGA analog / digital jacks on the side. It will handle just about any old video source thrown at it. Video output is awesome... probably the best I've ever seen from Atari 8-Bit stuff. Steve P.
  13. The one I bought last night at a NW Arkansas "Vintage Stock" location does seem to have a bad controller, so I agree they're probably returns due to defects. Will probably just keep it and eventually try to repair since the other controller works fine. The boxes are untaped and fairly ratty, but the console and accessories look like new.
  14. Just bought a used FB2 and one of the controller buttons seems to move objects to the left when pressed... basically in the same manner as moving the joystick to the left... along with firing as usual. Hate to take it back since I'd probably have a hard time finding another one, so any ideas for a fix? Thanks, SP
  15. Here in the midwest (MO, KS, and AR) there's a chain of gaming stores called "Vintage Stock" that seems to still have quite a few Flashback 2's lying around at $20 each. They look to be department store returns since the cardboard boxes have barcode stock tags on them. I've seen at least 1 or 2 at each store location I've been to.
