Just a quick note regarding the boxed limited edition of Wolfenstein VCS – everyone on the preorder list that hasn’t made arrangements with us by midnight on Friday, June 23, will give up their number. You do not need to pay for your copy by tomorrow night, just let us know that you’re still interested. If you were on the preorder list, you should have received several emails in the last two weeks regarding its release. If not, please PM me right away! Thanks so much, Jarett

Yes, our release still includes the numbered box and a sticker. I'd rather not hijack this thread, so please PM me with any questions or post in the original Wolfenstein thread (I just bumped it). Thanks so much, Jarett

Hopefully it's just taking a little while to arrive. I sent your email about a half hour ago. Thanks, Jarett

I just wanted to update everyone about Wolfenstein VCS. We have been given permission by Scott to release the original version and now have the second run of the boxed limited edition ready to go. If you were on the preorder list, you should have received an email by now. If not, please PM me. I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. Boxed releases are considerably more difficult and time consuming than standard releases, hence the long delay in the second run being available. I'm very sorry for making everyone wait so long. However, I'm pleased to announce that we are releasing the second run with a new box. The new design consists of a clear plastic box covered by a sleeve that contains all of the box art. This new design is durable, functional, affordable, and attractive. It measures 7" by 5" by 1", the exact dimensions of a standard Atari box. Better yet, it takes about a tenth of the time that it took to make our old boxes. I'm aware that many people are not pleased with Packrat at the moment and would rather purchase Wolfenstein's sequel from AA. I want to say right now that this is perfectly fine and I totally understand. Wolfenstein: The Next Mission is an excellent game and should not be passed up. I'm open to any questions or concerns, so please don't be shy. Also, please visit the webpages that we have set up for Wolfenstein VCS: http://www.packratvg.com/wolfenstein_limited.html http://www.packratvg.com/wolfenstein.html The second link is for the standard Packrat release of the game that isn't numbered and doesn't come with a sticker. Thanks so much, Jarett

Just an update for anyone on the preorder list for the original release of Wolfenstein VCS, the second run is finished and ready to go. You should have received an email by now with instructions for ordering. Before the Midwest Gaming Classic, we were presold up to #74. We only sold numbers after that at the show, so everyone's number on the preorder list is the same. Thanks, Jarett P.S. I would strongly encourage everyone to order Wolfenstein: The Next Mission from AA. It's an excellent sequel.

Sadly, we're starting our move to Idaho tomorrow. So I hope that you guys will be able to find a place for the next get together. Also, if anyone is interested, I have a Phoenix upright arcade machine that I really don't want to move. I'd be willing to let it go for $50 if someone can come and pick it up before Thursday. I'll be sad to see it go, but I will have an entire arcade to myself in my new job. PM me if you're interested. Best, Jarett

Yup, I own Packrat Video Games. Since we don't have a physical storefront (everything is online), the business lends itself well to this move. We'll actually be in Idaho for just this summer while my wife works on her internship, then we'll settle permanently in St. George, UT. Packrat may actually have a physical storefront in St. George in the future, but we'll have to see. Nothing is finalized quite yet, but it's looking like we'll be moving mid-May. If anyone would like to come over before then, I'd be more than happy to host again, all day if you'd like. I could re-arrange a little to make more room as well. Just let me know. Best, Jarett

Hey everyone, I would love to host it again, but if all goes as planned, we'll have moved to Idaho by the end of May. If I come across any place that might be a good host, I'll let you know. I'll post pics of the last event soon. I have to reformat all of them. Best, Jarett

We've been working overtime to prepare for NWCGE 2K6, hence the lack of pictures. I'll post them after we get back from the show this weekend. Thanks, Jarett

AtariChick, We can for sure take a look at it. We refurbish Atari hardware all the time. Best, Jaret

I'm getting excited! We'll have four TV's set up and a projector going, as well as my upright Phoenix arcade. We'll also have some fun contests and prizes, including free Atari hardware for anyone that shows up! On a side note, if anyone has an old X-box lying around, I'd love to trade for one. Everything on our website (and more) will be available. I'll also try to get permission to demo a few of our upcoming titles for the Atari 2600 and O2. Best, Jarett P.S. Please feel free to PM me if you need directions to my place, help with parking, or whatever.

I've had trouble sending packages to Canada as well. Something that I found out recently from the Post Office is that Canada is now refusing packages that don't have addresses all in uppercase. Both the Return address and To address must be in all caps. This might be what happened to some of the Tronman packages. Best, Jarett

I don't blame you for being upset Daniel. I would be just as unhappy if I were in your shoes. Your refund has been sent with my deepest apologizes, and I'll send you a new copy ASAP. One of the difficulties that we encountered with Haunted Adventure is that every copy was a custom job. Each box was different, so we couldn't mass produce copies of the game like we can with Wolfenstein VCS. Our printer has to be set up specially for each custom box, and the time required to finish a copy of Haunted Adventure is more than four times what it takes for a standard release of ours. It all adds up. We've learned our lesson and won't release a game with such specialized requirements again. Thanks, Jarett

Cyplix has been shipped. I know, finally. Because of the delays, we decided to not charge Charles for the order. His down payment on the carts has been refunded. Everything will settle down soon around here and it will be business as usual. I simply took on too many projects all at once and wasn't able to keep up like I expected to. Best, Jarett P.S. All of our email addresses still work. Our customerservice address receives a ton of junk mail everyday, so I have to keep up on it daily so that this mailbox doesn't fill up. In my effort to catch up on everything, deleting junk mail hasn't been a priority.

In case anyone is wondering about the status of Wolfenstein VCS, the second run is ready to go except for the carts themselves. We're waiting for the deluxe version to be finished. Thanks, Jarett

Lucky Man, Send me a PM with your email address and I'll add you to the preorder list. Thanks! Jarett

How about my manual and the money you owe me? Regards, -Lee 951033[/snapback] Sorry Lee. I totally forgot. I'll PM you. Best, Jarett

Wolfenstein VCS is by no means dead. The second run will begin shipping this week. I'll PM Scott to check on the deluxe version. Thanks, Jarett

Just a quick update - I forgot about the keychains until it was too late to send the carts on Saturday, so they'll be going out tomorrow and Wednesday. Thanks, Jarett

All of the Haunted Adventure orders will be sent by this Saturday. I have set this deadline with my staff and I'll be sure that it gets done. For everyone that's concerned, we'll be sending full refunds along with the orders. I'm sorry for my lack of correspondence. I just got engaged . The good news is that she's actually going to start helping with Packrat. The extra help will come in handy. Please PM me, email me, or call me at 801-358-1764 with any concerns. Best, Jarett

If you have been placed on our preorder list and recieved a confirmation email from us with a preorder number, you do not need to reorder. We'll send you an email as soon as your copy is ready with ordering information. Thanks, Jarett

We're recovering from CGE and working on the second run. It's going well. I'll have a better update for you in a few days. Best, Jarett

Packrat went through a very rough time over the last few months with several of the staff leaving for various reasons (graduated, moving, new jobs, etc). Nothing horrible, but it left me in a real bind with no extra help. I hired on two new people that sadly didn't work out, so orders have been backed up for a while. Thankfully, we are back on track now with a new staff and lots of great stuff planned for the future. We are, however, implementing several policy changes to ensure that the delays that occurred with Haunted Adventure and Wolfenstein never occur again. We're also selling off our hardware division as it's too time consuming to refurbish systems, joysticks, etc., and keep up with homebrew orders. I'm not proud of how Packrat has been run over the last few months, but I am excited about the changes and look forward to the future. I'm not sure if I have mentioned it in this forum, but any and all orders that were backed up as of 8/1/05 will be refunded and sent free of charge. We'll even cover the shipping. This is the only way that I feel that we can fairly repay everyone for their patience with us. If you have placed an order with us recently, look for a refund soon. Also, I'm always available to speak with at 801-358-1764. That's our customer service line, and I almost always answer it. Thank you so much to everyone for your understanding and I promise that we will not disappoint again. Thanks, Jarett

There are only a few copies from the first run that haven't shipped. We've sent out over twenty copies. The few that remain weren't claimed or have special circumstances tied to them. We'll be taking more pre-orders for the game at CGE in a week and a half, and the second run will begin shipping shortly thereafter. Thanks, Jarett P.S. This game is a real gem. I hope that someone will put up a review soon. Robert and Scott went all out and came up with an excellent hackbrew.

"Adventure Plus": New Mazes, New Colors & More
PackratVG replied to Atarius Maximus's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
Thank you for your help Curt. My information was wrong, and we will not be releasing Adventure Plus. The last thing that I want is to further hurt this community and its relationship with Atari. I also apologize to Steve for misleading him. He was going off of the information that I passed on to him. Thanks again Curt for your advice. I'm glad that we were able to stop this project before something bad happened. Thanks, Jarett
