Very cool. I have looked into it, but just never had the time to put one together. -Jarett

It's been a bumpy ride by all means, but Wolfenstein VCS has finally started shipping. I sincerely apologize to everyone for my lack of communication and updates on the project. I'm also very sorry for anyone that may have lost interest in the game due to our delays. Yuppicide, I'll send you a PM so that we can work something out. I promise, this isn't a game that you want to miss out on. About two months ago Packrat became a one-man show. I tried hiring on new help, but both of my new recruits didn't work out. I also started a new job with crazy hours about this time. Needless to say, delays ensued. This is however, no excuse for my lack of communication and I apologize for my unprofessionalism. I would be just as unhappy as everyone that has posted if I were in your shoes. Thankfully, everything is under control now. I have new help that's much better and my work schedule is under control. I assure everyone that Wolfenstein will be shipped promptly and without delay. It has been a long time in the coming, but the end result is fantastic and certainly worth the wait. If anyone would like to speak to me personally about Wolfenstein VCS or anything else, please feel free to call me at 801-358-1764. That's the Packrat customer service line. You can also PM me your phone number if you'd like me to pick up the tab on the long distance. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. Sincerely, Jarett Waite Owner Packrat Video Games www.packratvg.com

Hey everyone, We're pleased to announce that Wolfenstein is finally ready for release! The first run is done and we'll begin on the second run very soon. If you were part of the first run, expect an email with ordering details within a day or two. I sincerely thank everyone for their patience and assure you all that it has been well worth the wait! Thanks, Jarett

Still working on it....All of the boxes are done for the first run, carts are stripped and cleaned, labels printed, manuals printed and cut, and stickers printed and cut. It's just a matter of putting everything together. Everyone here is in the middle of finals and graduation, so time has been short. We're almost there, though. I thank everyone for their patience. Best, Jarett

We're still working on the first run, but they're almost done. Thanks, Jarett
-
The fist set of thirty have been pre-ordered. However, if you're not on the list for the first run, still send us your request to receive a low production number. The second run of carts should be ready to go within two weeks. Thanks so much to everyone for their support. Best, Jarett
-
We just decided that we will place a sticker on the inside of each box with its production number. So the sooner you let us know that you'd like a copy, the earlier your production number will be. The only real difference from one run to the next is the expected delivery date. It takes quite a while to put together large amounts of a boxed game, and we didn't want to wait three or four weeks to build up enough stock to make the game available to order. The preorder list allows us to produce and ship the game in manageable groups. Best, Jarett
-
Oops, sorry CPU. You're copy is #6 on the list. Yours was one of the "seven already spoken for." Best, Jarett
-
FYI, there are now nine left from the first run. After emailing with your request, you'll receive a confirmation email that will include which number you are on the preorder list. Thanks, Jarett

Wolfenstein VCS is finished and now in the final stage of production! I am very pleased with how it has turned out. In order to make Wolfenstein VCS available as soon as possible, we're going to sell it in runs of 30 at a time. We'll have our first set of 30 copies done by the end of this week. Wolfenstein VCS will be available boxed for $32.95. The boxed version will come with the cart, box, full-color manual, and a free 4" x 5 1/4" sticker graced with Dave's amazing cover art (see below). The loose version will cost $19.95 for the cart and manual. If you would like to be part of the first run of 30, please send an email to with your request. The first seven are already spoken for, so act quickly of you'd like to be one of the first people to get their hands on this gem of a game. We'll collect payment for requests after each run done, so no one will pay for their order until it's ready to go. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Sincerely, Jarett Waite Owner Packrat Video Games www.packratvg.com P.S. I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in this project. It would not have been possible without RobertM, Scott, DaveD, and many others.

Thoughts on 2005 atari times compendium
PackratVG replied to jerseystyle's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
I am VERY pleased with my copy as well. I had my doubts about Cafepress, but they really did an excellent job. It's nice to see the compendium recieve the printing quality that it deserves. Best, Jarett -
That's great news! I'm very happy to see the Ebivision games available again for the masses. Best, Jarett

I cetainly understand everyone's disappointment with the shipping delays and sincerely apologize to everyone that's still waiting. I'm not one for excuses, so I won't give any. A bit of explanation may help, though. Since Haunted Adventure is a hack and was released during the time when Infogrames was cracking down on AA's hacks, we decided that we would make the games and ship them for Tony, but we didn't want to be the front end for its release. So we haven't corresponded directly with those that have orderd HA (except for a few exceptions), and it wouldn't have been our place to send out a blanket email. Since Tony isn't totally aware of what's happening on our end, there have been communication breakdowns and we never discussed a blanket email. We should have. As far as I know, Tony has been handling concerns as they come in and has done his best to please everyone. I thank him for his patience with us. I think that we both hoped that we'd catch up quickly and wouldn't need to send out a blanket email. We are including free key chains in everyone's orders to thank them for their patience. These will only be included in the delayed orders up to this point. We have also upgraded a few orders to boxed versions for extended delays and given the option of full refunds. Datafreq, your order was upgraded to a boxed version at no charge and sent out via USPS Airmail. It should arrive any day now. I'll PM you with the exact ship date, I'll have to dig through our shipping receipts. This was our first full-blown boxed release and there have been some bumps along the way. We have learned a lot. The other day I figured out how much time each boxed copy of Haunted Adventure takes and it's upwards of an hour. That includes the time required to erase and burn EPROMS, print labels and manuals, cut, fold, and staple manuals, recycle carts (x2 since there's two games for this release), print, fold, and cut boxes, put everything together, etc. With almost 30 Haunted Adventure orders coming in during a space of about two weeks, it's not difficult to see the dilema that we were faced with. This is why the Wolfenstein release has been delayed. We will have at least forty copies of the game ready to go before we announce its availability. This wasn't an option with Haunted Adventure since each box is different. I apologize to everyone involved and take full responsibility for the delays. Like I told Tony, I have hired on extra help to meet the overwhelming demand for Haunted Adventure and our Odyssey 2 releases. We do have everything in stock that's listed on the website, including the boxed homebrews. Orders other than Haunted Adventure are on track and not a problem. If anyone would like to discuss their order with me, please call our customer service line at 801-358-1764 and I'll be happy to help you. You may also PM me or send me an email. Rest assured that the problem is under control and we're back on track. Thanks to everyone for their understanding and patience. Sincerely, Jarett Waite Owner Packrat Video Games www.packratvg.com

Gameplay will be the same for both versions. -Jarett

Scott and I are still working out the details on the limited edition boxed edition, so I'll post more info when I have it. Thanks! Jarett

Stan, Yes, it will be available boxed and non-boxed. The boxed version will have a few extras, but otherwise they'll be the exact same release. Best, Jarett

Everything is in process for Wolfenstein's release. We're working on the box design at the moment. DaveD created some amazing artwork for us to work with, and I'm just as anxious as everyone else to release Wolfenstein. Best, Jarett

Atari 2600 Haunted Adventure Limited Edition
PackratVG replied to atwwong's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I would like to publicly apologize to everyone that has to wait for their Haunted Adventure orders. I am very sorry for the delays. To be honest, I'm disappointed with my team. This isn't like us. This has never happened before and we are working now to rectify our production and shipping difficulties to ensure that this doesn't occur again. If anyone has any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to answer them. Sincerely, Jarett Waite Owner Packrat Video Games www.packratvg.com -
DaveD, Like Scott said, don't feel restrained by the templates that he posted. I like the full-bleed a lot. Best, Jarett
-
Nice job. Looking forward to more updates! Best, Jarett
-
@CPU, 862 x 1059 turns out to be the exact label dimensions (including a bleed) at 300 dpi. We print our manuals and custom labels in-house, but our standard label runs go to a local print shop. I suppose their printers are a bit forgiving on dpi. You are right, though, those dimensions are a bit small. Larger artwork is always encouraged! This brings up a good point. The box artwork needs to be somewhere around 1653 x 2244. This isn't the same aspect ratio as the label art, which makes box design interesting. This is something that we'll work out with the winner of the contest. Thanks, Jarett
