  1. Wow, I am very impressed by both entries. I'm tempted to end the contest right now, but let's just bump the end date up a bit to Jan 7 at midnight. Here's a few more guidelines: The label size should be exactly 862 x 1059 saved at 300 dpi Be sure to count on a .1" bleed when placing text, etc. The only text necessary is the title; we'll put all of the copyright information in the manual Please feel free to post any questions or concerns and GREAT job guys! Best, Jarett
  2. Thanks for your kind words. I hadn't thought about the different variations. That could be a modification for our next run of Okie Dokie boxes. Thanks, Jarett
  3. @Godzilla We finally have the boxes available to purchase online. Check out our main page for more information: www.packratvg.com We delayed their release because we wanted to experiment with a few other printing methods. We ended up going back to the method that we used for the boxes that we released at CGE. Finally these homebrews have the packaging that they deserve. Best, Jarett
  4. Hey everyone, The "Best O2 Christmas Ever" has been launched! Check out our homepage: http://www.packratvg.com We now have Pong for Videopac and Odyssey by Rene van den Enden available, as well as the Odyssey DVD, Odyssey posters, calendars, mouse pads, and key chains. If orders are placed by noon on Tuesday, December 21, they will arrive by Christmas Eve via Priority Mail. Any questions can be directed to [email protected] or by calling us. Happy Holidays! Best, Jarett
  5. Packrat Video Games and a few other O2 fanatics around here are planning the "Best O2 Christmas Ever" and here's a small taste of what's to come. The poster measures 13" x 19". Hopefully the CD will help you with the scale. I'm really proud of how it came out; I think that I'll frame mine. Best, Jarett
  6. From what I understand, this exemption came about because of a request from www.archive.org. Here's the link: http://www.archive.org/about/dmca.php It sounds like they archive old software from floppies. If you look closely at the page, they have a picture of Q*Bert and a few other games. Best, Jarett
  7. I received my partial refund today. The message said that the single disc DVD will ship by the end of this month. Best, Jarett
  8. Jetset, I'm not sure if he has shipped the games. He's always very on top of things. Best, Jarett
  9. Neo has been taking a little bit longer than usual to reply because of the recent storms in Florida. His computer was ruined along with some other damage. Best, Jarett
  10. Messiah is a really cool company. One of their engineers came over to the Packrat booth at CGE and talked to me for quite a while. He was very interested in what I had to say and even gave me the card of the President of the company so that I could contact him with further input later on. Best, Jarett
  11. Nolan Bushnell at CGE2K3 spoke about trying to purchase part of Atari at one time. It might have been during this same time frame. He put up an offer twice as much as what Atari ended up selling for, but egos were involved and the sellers wouldn't consider Nolan's offer. Does anyone remember any more details from the story? -Jarett
  12. Regarding licensing, I actually spoke with the VP of OEM licensing at Infogrames several months ago about re-releasing several Atari 2600 games. The gentleman told me that they were open to offers, but that they would need guarantees of production numbers in the hundreds of thousands. So Infogrames isn't out to smother classic games. Simply put, they're in the big leagues and homebrews and hacks don't sell enough to warrant their interest. Nonetheless, I hope that AA will be able to work something out with them. The good influence that AA has on classic gaming is incredible and not something to be tampered with. Best, Jarett
  13. The labels are made from a specialty laser label paper that I found. I'm not sure exactly what it's made from, but it prints really nicely and has the foil look and feel. Best, Jarett
  14. Yah, Imagic-style labels could certainly be made with these new foil label sheets. -Jarett
  15. I'm pretty sure that we'll only use the foil labels for special releases and custom projects. Our lineup won't be affected in any way. Now that we have standard carts, clear carts with clear labels, clear carts with standard labels, red carts, blue carts, etc, I'm leary to add yet another option. It's a little bit like the Thrust situation, too many versions/options. Maybe our next new homebrew will have a foil label... Like I said earlier, let me know if you have any ideas for the foil labels! Best, Jarett
  16. @RadioFSoftware - Check your PM. -Jarett
  17. Both AA and Packrat Video Games will make custom carts for you. I think that you just have to send Al a PM for more details. Here's our page on it: http://www.packratvg.com/hacks.htm Several others on this board have helped make carts as well, you just have to poke around. Best, Jarett
  18. I've had a few requests for foil labels, so here's what I've come up with. The labels look really cool on clear carts as well. They're very similar to Lee Krueger's new foil labels, except ours are printed on our color laser. For now these labels will only be used for custom jobs, so I'm always open to suggestions. Just drop me a PM . Best, Jarett
  19. As far as I know, Lee only made a limited run of the Coke Wins carts. Maybe he'll make more later . They really are very cool. As for the boxes for our homebrews, we sold out at the show and will have more in stock soon. I'm hoping to have them up on the site in a few days. Thanks! Jarett
  20. Check this out: http://www.atari.com/us/games/atari_flashback/7800 It looks like they're even going to use joysticks just like the original 7800 joysticks. Don't most people dislike those joysticks? -Jarett
  21. Props to Cassidy from me, too. Frog Pond turned out great and I know how much work went into putting it all together. You're going to be missed at CGE this year Cassidy! -Jarett
  22. It looks like Sega canned several finished games before their release. Ixion for the 2600 was discovered at NWCGE this year, and now this. The gentleman that brought the Ixion proto to the show also mentioned another Sega proto that he used to have. It's cool how this kind of stuff keeps being discovered. -Jarett
  23. I like it. The guy is a bit scary looking, but it's cool! Best, Jarett
  24. I saw the game in action at the show. There's a little bit of flicker, but not much. The most that we ever saw on the screen was the ship, two enemies, and two balls. No one got past the first ten or so levels, though. I spent quite a bit of time playing it as well and liked it a lot. As for the tiles, they change color every round, but not their shape. If I'm not mistaken, the copyright said 1984. Thanks, Jarett
