Status Updates posted by Allan

  1. I think the Recent Status Updates should be used to showcase stuff in the AtariAge store instead.

I generally enjoy reading the various status updates as they are now.

Personally,  I like to see what's on people's minds.  Whatever it may be.

If a person feels compelled to talk argue politics or boost about themselves, go to Twitter. I see people trying to push their crap but while trying to not cross the line.

This is a nice place to talk about computers and video games. I hope it stays this way. I love hearing about what people are doing with their computers and game systems though. There are lots of very talented people here. It just amazes me sometimes what people can do. I wish I had half their talent.

  2. Please stop. Focus on video games and classic computers.

      Oh. That.

I don't pay attention to that stuff, or really any news, anymore.

Agreed, we don't need commentary on current events here.  There are plenty of other places for it.

Most of the comments are about video games anyway...If it's not off limits (i.e. Religion & Politics) why not let people say what they want to say?  You can ignore it if you don't like it.

  3. What is that part of the brain called that when you think something that you probably shouldn't say at that moment, it says "Stop!!! Don't say that!"?

And how come so many people are missing that part of their brain?

If you don't have that thing, it's called impulse-control disorder:

A little more primitive answer, and not really answering the actual question, either.

The act of listening to that part of your brain would be, I think, "Tact".

I actually have too much of it, I think, when it comes to "bad" things, and not nearly enough when it comes to "silly" things.

My Mother was the worst, haha, I used to describe her thinking as "It pops up, and it pops right out"!.

(She was just honest to a fault, which can be good sometimes...occasionally.)

Area 25 is along the way which has influence on your emotional response to such things. If you have serotonin issues to begin with this causes a problem.
