  1. I tried grabbing them but $60 was the highest I was going to go. Being that it was a private auction and went to $280, it looks a little suspect. Hopefully the 'winner' will try selling it again.
  2. These were the early APX boxes for the first and second design styles. The cassette programs said "Cassette" on the side. The front was cut out and the manual showed what the program title was. They then went with a clear plastic package. Again the manual cover showed what title it was. A cost cutting designed that worked well.
  3. https://archive.org/details/controlleravalonhill/mode/2up It's also on Atarimania but mine (above) is downloadable as a PDF.
  4. Not anything in particular. Just that since there are limited number of slots, it would be a shame to use up one slot just to make a memory expansion card usable with a 130XE/800XE. I guess it would have to be something that did not require a lot of real estate on a board. My knowledge of electronics is terrible so I wouldn't even know what that would be. Maybe a 'modern' controller (joystick) interface or a USB interface. Or maybe a Atari 850 type device. There is a USB interface cartridge designed years ago but the lack of drivers written for it didn't help it catch on. I think I still have it somewhere here. The point I guess is that by having the card do more than one function, people wouldn't be as bothered with using up a slot for it and not mind buying an extra card for the 1090, especially if it was something most people would use.
  5. Fantastic work on this! Question: Since the Compatibility board only adds the ability to use 1090 memory expansion boards with the 130XE and 800XE (please correct me if I am wrong here) and it takes up an expansion slot, would it be possible to add some additional functionality to this board?
  6. I don't/didn't have any Web nor 6502 programming experience years ago so I decided the best thing I could do to contribute to the Atari 8-bit community was to archive manuals, boxes, etc. I did post a lot of stuff to Atarimania.com but today I but everything up on Archive.org. https://archive.org/details/@allan52 I have over 1700 scans although a small number of them are non-Atari stuff.
  7. There is a lot that has been archived and yes a lot more needs to be, but there also is need for things to be better organized and searchable. There were/are many great public domain programs, for example, but they are really hard to find.
  8. It would be neat to see a new program written for GOS. Maybe it would inspire more people to write programs that use it.
  9. Hey @Parallax Abstraction Just throwing some support for you. Hopefully someone will come forward with some disks from your user group. Do you remember if NCAUG produced a newsletter? If you still want to take on a similar project and you have webpage design experience, you might want to consider making a page for some of the larger public domain software collections. It's something that has been neglected and would be a great resource to Atari 8-bit enthusiast. I would love to see a searchable page with all the PD software available to download. The M.W.P.D.S. collection is probably the largest collection and probably had the vast majority of public domain and shareware software written. https://archive.org/details/mwpdspublicdomainsoftwareforatari800xlxe
  10. So there are two versions of Bean Machine 1.2?
  11. Thank you. I see the IC 41464-10 DRAM 256K-Bit for the top 130XE but the list does not include the 4264-20 ram in the other 130XE. Should I be looking for a different number? I did a search in the Jameco for site but nothing came up.
  12. Does anybody know where I can get replacement ram for my two 130XEs? Pics below.
  13. I bid $60 for this so that I could archive them. But I don't have hundreds of dollars to buy Atari 8-bit programs to archive. I can only hope to grab auctions that most people don't notice. I see many auctions like these go really high, never to be seen again. I do occasionaly ask here who wins an auction in hopes to maybe get a scan of it but it always falls on deaf ears. If anybody has anything (disk, cassette, manuals, boxes, etc.) please consider arching it or reach out to one of us so we can help you archive it. Here is my Archive.org page for those that don't know. https://archive.org/details/@allan52
  14. https://archive.org/details/Atari_Connection_Volume_4_Number_1_1984-03_Atari_US/mode/2up Good luck.
  15. It would be great if someone could make a short video doing a couple of searches with Turbo-Easyfind.
  16. Here is a link to the May, 1987 issue of Analog magazine that featured a basic listing of the Easyfind program. I am not sure if they stopped selling the program at this point and sold it to Analog magazine but that may be the case. https://archive.org/details/analog-computing-magazine-54/page/n63/mode/2up?view=theater
  17. If anybody has any related material from this company, please post it here.
  18. Forgot to add the paper flyer/catalog that came with the disks. Sierra_Services_Flyer_Catalog.pdf
  19. I picked these up recently on eBay. All disks copied without errors. (Let me know if there are any issues. I printed out the on-disks instructions for both and included them below. These indexes were for Antic, Analog and Compute magazines. Included are indexes for 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987. I am assuming that Turbo Easyfind was an upgrade to Easyfind. There was also a manual on Archive.org which I am guessing is another printout of the on-disk instructions but may be different. 20. Thank you so much for doing this, @massiverobot It is greatly appreciated.
  21. Whatever you can scan would be great. If there are a lot to scan, I can scan them for you and return them. I have done that with a number of Atariage users. You can see my work here: https://archive.org/details/@allan52. Either way, thanks for posting these. User group newsletters are getting harder to find.
  22. @Zolaerla You can archive (post) them here as well as Archive.org. If you don't want to create an archive.org account (it's free) I can post them up there on my account if you post them here. I can also check what has been archived as well if you list what you have. It might save you some time from scanning what already has been scanned. If you are new to scanning I can help with that as well. Just let me know.
