  1. Can some recommend a place (link) in the U.S. to get a 28-pin socket to replace the Basic IC in order to install the U1MB in a 130XE?

  3. The above is wrong. I figured it out from a picture in this thread. I just loaded Commando ATR version by Fandel and it worked perfectly. Since it is a 600XL NTSC I need to mod it for composite.
  4. Dumb question: I am installing the 576KB in my NTSC 600XL and want to make sure I got the right pins on the CO61618. Looking at the IC how it is inserted into the computer, does the pins go from top row left to right like below? 1---2---3---4--5--6--7---8--9--10 20-19-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11

  10. Cool shirt. Since the seller provided a strait picture of the graphic, I should try to re-create that in Illustrator/Inkscape so people can make their own shirts (or posters) with it.

  14. Glad to hear you and your place are OK, Bob. My mother-in-law's place in Bonita Springs did have some damage to her extended car port but her double-wide trailer itself is fine (as well as her car.) Luckily she is still at her place here in Connecticut.
  15. Apple focused on monitor output, Apple and Commodore went with TV output. I think this is key to why Atari (and Commodore) did not make 80-columns standard. 80-columns is not great on TVs. Yes there is XEP-80 and the Commodore 128. Both are flawed, both not a standard on each platform and both were too late. And yes you could get a monitor for both Atari and Commodore computers but by making 80-columns standard on their computers, it would have angered their costumers who used TVs with their computers.

  17. Here is disk #7. It's so bad it crashes the browser program ATR Image Explorer. I can read the directory in DOS 2.5 in an emulator so I guess that is something. One more disk after this one. NACC_7.atr

  19. The CONNECT4 seems familiar but I can't remember. It most likely is in some of the other public domain disk collections.
  20. Yea, so far everything is from Antic, Analog, Compute, Softside, etc.
  21. I cut out one of the stuck disks and after wiping the section that was stuck with alcohol, put it in another disk jacket and copied the disk. NACC_2.atr
  22. When I see this type of thing in eBay auctions I report it as inappropriate. I find it annoying. It's great that we have all types of people in the retro computer hobby. But sometimes you have people who pretend to have an interest but really have ulterior motives. It usually is pretty obvious. For example, resellers who just only see people interested in retro computers has a means to make money. And no I am not talking about somebody who creates something like hardware, software, etc. or people who just get tired of their retro hardware/software and want to sell it to buy something else. Hopefully you get what I am saying.
