  1. So I got my new soldering station and have been trying to solder with some success. One thing that is hard is trying to solder a pin through a board. I know your suppose to solder around the pin so it looks like a little mountain from the side but all I ever get is a ball. Anybody got any suggestions? I can see soldering is small part technique and mostly practise. Allan
  2. The whole story is probably BS. They probably made it up just to get people to look at the auction and bid on it. No parent who honestly was trying to correct their kids behaviour would tell the media what they were doing. Allan
  3. So let's see what classic gaming stuff you all got for Xmas. Allan
  4. Although he's too young for Atari, here's my son on his first bike. Allan

Most likely, it will require soldering though. That's alright. I got an early Christmas gift: a temperature regulated solder station. Me too! Allan Awesome...I saw a bunch of crappy VCS and NES games in a Thrift the other day. I might pick some up to destro...er I mean practice on. Whenever you get a chance to come my way for that other thing, maybe we could both get some practice in. Definetly! Allan
  6. Fee avoidence! Report them! Allan

  8. I would like to see this with a USB port so that the program could be ported to the Macintosh. Allan
  9. Wow, very cool! Makes me want to go out and get a Jaguar. What ever happened to the 7800 video board? I was looking forward to that one. Allan
  10. Who ever said the 5200 was a flop? Were you not born yet or are you just a fanboy of another system? Well, I guess compared to the 2600 it was a flop but I honestly have never seen any evidence of this. There are tons of 5200s and 5200 games out there. Plus it seems that it's harder to find a Colecovision than a 5200. It would be nice to know how many systems were sold of each console. Allan
  11. Wow, the C64 character set archive is nice. I wish someone would do this for the Atari 8-bits. It would be great to use some of them in 7800 and 5200 games. Allan

Ditto! Man was it hot and crapped in there! I get to go for the whole weekend this time. I sure hope they have it. Allan

    Footballblazer?

Pretty cool! Nice job. That would be a fun game although you'd be bouncing around a lot. Allan
  14. How about a particular never released game based on a annual global event! Hmmm..? Allan
  15. Slightly OT - Speaking of Robotron, just in case people don't know it, the Atari 7800 version of Robotron works with both single and dual joysticks for gameplay, the holder design was made but never released for the 7800, too bad... a 7800 version of Battlezone such as the XE version would've rocked! Curt Did anybody ever see one of these? Allan
  16. I tried this but can't get it to work. Anybody try this? Allan
  17. It's to bad that none of the Imagic games that were advertised for Atari 5200/8-bits never came out. I think they only put Demon Attack and Atlantis for the 8-bits. Allan
  18. Rats! Oh well. Just curious Tempest but did you play all the way through or is this what the programmers told you? There just seems to be so much attention to detail in this game. I wouldn't be surprised if there are still some undiscovered features in the 8-bit/5200 version. I sure wish the source code existed for this game. I wonder what the two of them could have gone on to do for the 5200 if Williams had fully supported the 5200 version at the get-go. I woulder if they had ideas for other 5200 games in the works before it got set back by Williams. Allan
  19. But it could be. Does anybody know what 'Paradise' is like on the Arcade game? It would be nice if someone could hack the 5200 version so that you could get to level 20 so that we could see if it exist or not. On a more pretend-philosophical note, I guess someone will have to keep playing the 5200/8-bit versions to see if 'Paradise' really exist and what it really is? Hmmmmm????? Allan
  20. Has anyone reached level 20/Paradise on the 5200/8-bit Blaster? Just curious? So far I've made it to level 6 from the beginning but I haven't played it much yet. It really is a great game. Allan
  21. Very cool, Curt. Now you took this down when they closed it and are setting it up in your backyard, right? How long did this stay open? Can't wait to see real pics of it. Allan
  22. Before I put this on eBay I thought I'd put this up here and see if anybody is interested in trading this for 5200 stuff. It's in the box with the plastic still around it. I'm looking for mostly 5200 stuff although I'll consider any offer. I'm looking for: 5200 Trackball box. many uncommon or less common 5200 games. 80's video game magazines. Soldering station. 5200 game boxes. Allan
