  1. Cool! Basic question... I don't have a 2600 emulator with me or can download one right now (firewall /work) Is the premise that you are at space as ships go by?

    5200 Emulation??

This is so cool!!! All the roms that I wanted to try worked great (with the execption of Pengo) I got hooked on Montezuma's revenge all over. Although this time it only took me a few hours to relearn and finish the whole first level. Thanks!

    5200 Emulation??

Hello, What is a good 5200 emulator to try? I want to remake a couple of 5200 clasics as an exercise to sharpen my win programming skills. I am hoping that I can find something that supports a gamepad and does at least some basic sound. I do have a 5200 and a ton of carts for it, but both of my controllers are not working. I was thinking of redoing Gremlins, but after re-reading the manual I realized my memory is not working right. I sure don't remember Billy ever having a sword. (where did that come from???) Thanks!
  4. Label contest??? YES!!!!
  5. He should add a disclaimer RIGHT AWAY, so that people do not sell this on eBay. It sucks when somebody makes money out of your work and you do not see a single penny. I noticed Gremlins was not included. Am I the only guy that likes that one?
  6. Hello I am looking for Gremlins for the 2600 and the 5200. Does anybody here have any of this for sale?, if not, any idea about how much would be a fair price for them? There are one of each listed at ebay right now, but one ofthem has some type of marker damage, and the other one looks kind of beat up. Could be the picture though.
  7. Wow!, Cool! So how did you do it?, did you load the file from disk?, was it very difficult? My XE is on the mail (just got one on ebay) and I ma trying to find out more about this thing.
  8. I am trying to understand how this work, so my question may sound super basic (or stupid). But excatly what do you have?, a cart board and the chip? or did you have to put anything else on it?, do you by any chance have any pics? I got a burner (wich I have never used), I was thinking of getting some blank boards from here (atariage), and also buying sockets so that I can solder the socket to the board and then just put the chip on it. Am I on the right track?, or am I as lost as my wife thinks I am?...
  9. Well... I am no electronics wiz, but I did take a few years of electronics in another life, so basically I can read some schematics and I do know how to use the soldering gun. Other than that you could say I have no idea of what I am doing. I do have an old gemini to use as a guinea pig so that I won't burn my 2600 though. Is it reallly that hard to make a cart?
  10. Hey guys, you have to go look at this before it gets removed. Some guy at eBay decided to link to somebody else's pictures to do his sale. The guys running the other server found out and switched images on him. Very funny, check it out. The thing about eBay (I think) is that it does not let you change the product description once you post, so he could not change it. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...item=2052699485 I know AtariAge has the same problem, not that I am trying to give you guys any ideas...
  11. Thanks Callipygous!!! Based on the info there, and this page I found: http://www.atarimagazines.com/v4n8/Proburner.html Looks like I will be able to do 2600 carts and 5200 up to 16k. I guess I have to get an eraser and then I'll take it from there. I hope I can figure this out, it sounds REALLY cool!.
  12. Hello guys, excuse my ignorance, What is an Inverter?
  13. Hello guys, Does anybody here have used one of this? I originally posted a message about this on the 2600 section as I am hoping that I can do 2600 carts with it. I am hoping that I run into somebody that can give me some pointers as to how to use it. I am interested on finding out if I can do 2600, XE or 5200 carts with it. I am lost.... HELP!!!!
  14. The software is built into the cartridge, I think I remember that. When I said I 'found' it, I literally meant that. The funny part is that it used to be mine. I had to go to my parent's house to help them move some stuff in their garage, and I found a few boxes full of old stuff that belonged to me. When I was into the 8-bit many years ago, I believe this was the last purchase I made. The manual may be there somewhere, I have to go through a bunch of stuff, I hope I find it. Don't even know what it looks like, I think I remember a few xerox copies but I am not sure. I never did anything with it, since I had an unexpected sudden switch to a different computer system when I got a job that required me use something else instead. My mother is dangerous woman, when she runs out of space on her garage, she has $1 garage sales until shet gets the space back. She had told me years ago that she had sold most of my 8-bit stuff after I came back from being away working on another state for a few months. I was very surprised yesterday when I moved this big piece of furniture and I found 3 big boxes full of some of my old stuff. I thought all of that was gone. They must have been there for over 10 years, and I didn't know they were there. (It is actually a very big garage) I just bought an XE game system on eBay with a bunch of cartridges, I am hoping that it will work with it and the SIO2PC cable. I never learned anything about burning roms, so I am more than lost when it comes to this. The ultimate for me would to be able to burn 2600 carts a nice plus would be to be able to burn 8-bit carts (XE, 5200). I just have no idea as to where to start. I guess when the XE system gets here I'll plug it and hope that I see something. I posted on this section hoping that somebody maybe uses on of this to do 2600 carts and would give me some pointers.
  15. Hello guys, I just found this, no doucumentation. Can I make carts it?, if so for what system? (hopefully system'S') Thanks!
  16. Check this out: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/fe...3.36977f85.html This game takes adavantage of that feature. I don't know what you could do with it on a 5200, but I am sure there are creative enough people here that could come up with some ideas.
  17. Clay, I think the difference between the PS1 anlog controllers and the PS2 is that some of the buttons on the PS2's are pressure sensitive. The idea was that the harder you pushed on those buttons, for example the harder a character would punch or run. I remember reading about it before the PS2 came out, but I don't think I own any games that support that feature (if I am remembering right).
  18. Wow... That is a way more acurate explanation that I thought I would ever get. I was hoping somebody would say that I was just a messy guy and I had a bunch of layers of old dirt. Too bad it can't be reversed, thanks for the info.
  19. Hello, I was wondering if there is some way to get rid of the yellowish tint that old xe hardware gets after a while. Any cool good ways/recomendations/pointers that you guys may know about? Thanks!
  20. I can help with teh label and some graphic design. Give me some details. I don't have an emulator set up at this time, so IU haven't seen the game yet.
  21. I haven't actually tried Solaris, but I can tell you that some of the games when you set the emulator to top speed, they are unplayable because everything happens too fast. I have an iPaq 3670 with PPC 2000. The way it works, you load your rom, then you go to the controller configuration screens, you pick your controller, and then you map the buttons on the controller to the buttons of the unit. One of the problems the iPaq has (I don't know about others) is that you can not do two buttons at once. So if you wanted to do a diagonal with the navigation pad, it is not going to work. I don't know if that issue has been fixed on the newer 38xx's and 39xx's. If Solaris requires use of multiple buttons at once, then it doesn't matter how fast it goes, it will be harder. An alternative to that though would probably be one of the gamepad attachements that I have seen come out. I saw one for the 36xx's / 37xx's and another one for the newer iPaq models. It makes your iPaq look kind of like a gameboy on steroids. But as I said, that I haven't tried them (yet...)
  22. If you guys give me the IP address and the time of the posting (PST), I can figure out who this person actually is. I work for one of the large telcos and have access to the type of information not that many people can get to. The reason why I have access for this, is to track down people doing illegal activities and other things like severe spamming and virus distribution. Even if he is not one of our customers, ISPs help each other out greatly with this type of thing. Besides, I have good contacts on just about all of them already. You can send me the info to my private email account (the admins here have it).
  23. Go check out the new PocketVCS page, it was just updated. http://pocketvcs.emuunlim.com Cool new screnshots. Is not like I am tryingto sell anything, the product is free
  24. Emulator in general can be a bit tricky, but once you get used to them they work well. The main feature I like about PocketVCS is that you can drag the stylus at the bottom of the screen to simulate a paddle. So Kaboom plays REALLY good. By default some of the games run very fast, but you can adjust the setting for that specific rom and save it along with your customized controller setup and other settings with the cart profile. PocketVCS has a bunch of stuff that you can customize, you can carry a bunch of roms with you and play them anytime you have a few minutes, like when you are waiting on line somewhere. at a restaurant or at the movie theater before the show starts. Although I have a bunch of roms, I am always playing prettymuch the same one (Kaboom), just can't get over that game right now.

He has done a lot stuff, I think his scret goal is to catch up with Barbie. She has even been on the Enterprise.
