      I'd rather invest in a legit business (last year I bough a 1,000 Euro share of reverse convertible bonds on Commerzbank at a 7% interest, paid out some weeks ago).

    It's always shocking to me when people say HYTH instead of HYTE when pronouncing the word 'height.' They never end words such as fight, might, night, or sight with the TH sound, so why does the word 'height' give them such a problem? I blame that horrid word 'width.' It's a bad influence, like that nasty cousin you had when you were a kid that smoked and stirred Kool-Aid with his or her arm.

      As my mother tongue is German: explain, why though, through, thorough, and tough are pronounced as they are. You simply cannot guess the correct pronunciation of English words by looking at them.

    Anybody willing to repair Atari 1050 floppy drives? I've got a stack of four of them (mostly Tandons) which aren't functional, and I'd love to get at least one or two working.

      Here in Germany, we have the Floppy Doc, aka Erhard Pütz, who weaves his magic to repair any 1050, 810 or XF551. If shipping weren't prohibitive...

      The "PlayStation" only was a CD-ROm foor the SNES at that time. Only after the deal was cancelled Sony started developing a game console of its own.

      I've read on amazon.co.uk that only the 2003 movie version - re-cut for a cinematic run - does have English subtitles, while the far superior TV series does not have. According to some Americans, this is entirely their fault ("If it wasn't for us, you'd all be speaking German!")

      I am one DVD short of a complete Godzilla collection (three of the four Australian release DVD boxes did help a lot, but they lack three Showa (Godzilla Raids Again, King Kong vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster) and two Heisei (The Return of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Biollante) era movies, which I had to buy separately. The Heisei movies were available as German DVD releases, but are OOP, and so far I was only able to acquire the first one.

      As European PS1 games often came in specially molded cases (due to the need to cope with multi-language manuals), the situation ehre is even worse. I bought several bundles of NOS crap titles (by Phoenix Gam,es mostly), but now I am also running out of new cases.
