  1. Is the Print Shop Print Driver for the Atari 1020 by Innovative Concepts/Sector One Computers/Jim Steinbrecher floating around anywhere? I find mention of it in various places, but can't find the disk image anywhere. Thanks Bill
  2. I collect mostly Atari stuff. I do have two Apple IIs in my collection, an Apple IIc and an Apple IIgs, both of which I picked up this year.
  3. This is me with my Apple IIc probably during winter 86/87, while home from the army on Christmas break.
  4. I'm on Level 2, but the info screen shows "Now try level number 01".
  5. I wrote a blog post on the Atari Accountant series, the General Accounting System and the Atari 815 dual disk drive. Let me know if you have any information to add.
  6. 7. The Atari 65XL had a _____ bit processor. A. 2 bit B. 4 bit C. 8 bit D. 16 bit --- 19. What is a CX85? A. Real time clock interface board B. Atari Keypad C. Adapter to play 2600 games in a 7800 D. One of Atari’s many vapor ware products The correct answer needs slightly more information to be unambiguous. ---- Nice quiz though!
  7. I wrote a short review of Tensor for Old School Gamer Magazine.
  8. Love that bunny! We should have a Secret Easter Bunny too!
  9. I received my package today. While I usually would not open the gifts until Christmas, the items were not individually wrapped, so here they are. A very nice selection. Thank you Secret Santa!!!
  10. Can you tell a Voice Box I from a Voice Box II from looking at it? Obviously there are some that have Red lettering and others that have Green lettering. Some have knobs, but some do not. From Nir's description, it sound like some have a power jack to power it so that it will work with the 800XL. I have a green labeled unit with a knob and no power jack. It works with the 800, but not with the 800XL. Do some VB2 units have a power jack and some do not? So colors, knobs and power jacks, whats what? Mine came with paperwork dated July '82. No markings on board. I believe it to be an early prototype VB1 sent from Alien Group in Manhattan with handwritten instructions to the cassette/disk duplication company "Custom Dup" in California.. Bill
  11. I wrote a blog post on The Newsroom which references this thread.
  12. Parts arrived in New Jersey. Testing from Atari BASIC Testing from Atariwriter Some random thoughts Wear rubber gloves if you have them. Take your time. I ordered two "type wheels" and I broke the first one because ... Make sure you really clean out the first and last track where the little screws are. Mine had debris in there that I could not see. After breaking the first 'type wheel', I cleaned them with alcohol/q-tip, scrapped each track with a small flat head screw driver then blow it out with compressed air [repeated this about four times to make sure those two tracks were really clean. Capital 'W' always looks like a small 'w'. The longer I let it print, it would get slightly better, but also there were totally bad rows of print ... probably a printer issue, not 'type wheel' issue. I could certainly adjust the little screws, try different paper and attempt to push the 'type wheel' into the tracks more to try to get better quality. Make sure you put the little strip that holds the 'type wheel' down on the correct way. The groves face out so they can get past the 'comb' that keep the tracks aligned. It works. Its not perfect. Its nice to see the 1027 printing again. Thank you Christian.
  13. I discovered the Easter Egg Halloween Candy simply because I didn't read the manual before I started playing the game.
  14. I wrote a short review of the game for Old School Gamer Magazine.
  15. Here is a photo of my 820 and 822. These things are beasts! They look great along side the Atari 800 tank of a computer! The 822 is quite a bit bigger, but not actually that much heavier.
  16. Cleaned, prepped, ready and waiting ....
  17. I have one. It sits there and looks pretty. I'm planning on using the three early printers: 820, 822, 825, in my next VCF exhibit next year.
  18. I scanned, uploaded and wrote a short blog post about the Atari Computer Educational Software Directory. --Bill (@BillLange1968)
  19. Rob took some awesome photos. I was so busy that day, I don't think I took more than a few with my phone. Cleaning and organizing the basement and setting up my stuff took a few weeks. Peter Fletcher brought an amazing array of Atari gear that took some time to unload and set up as well. I didn't have enough tables or monitors, but that will be fixed.Nobody even discussed the t-shirts, that just happened! It was pretty cool. I was thinking about hosting a (smaller) monthly Atari gathering. Not so much an "Atari Party East", but more of just a "Fuji Fest". We have the room, people could just show up, we order pizza, play some games, talk Atari, trade, whatever. My arcade video game collection could use some more love! If anyone would be interested let me know and I'll make it happen. I was thinking maybe six or more people on a Sunday from 4pm till whatever. Bill
  20. I'll take two print heads and one ink roller.
  21. Any update on making these print heads available? Bill
  22. Now I want to start a monthly NJ based Atari group too! Some one could probably arrange something like that at the VCF East facility in Wall NJ. They have classrooms and a dorm. Bill
  23. It was awesome getting 30 people together for Atari Party East in Sept. Amiga Bill's WAUG Amiga user group in Westchester County, NY looks like a lot of fun as well. It is a blast to get like minded people together to further the hobby! Good luck Allan! Bill
  24. It would be really cool to capture the Laser Disk video and create a automated demo using a Raspberry Pi.
