  1. Yes, see MD5 tool on SDX Toolkit. Concerning the versions of Turbo-BASIC XL 1.5: The original version on the 1985 disk from Happy Computer has MD5 (TURBO.COM) = 8EA3BF2EA89405AC347B2DBFAB5DE047 and is 18104 bytes in size. There is a need to change Turbo-BASIC XL 1.5 because of this: Raw translation from the manual of Turbo-DOS 2.1. Now MD5 (TURBO2.EXE) = 5B97DBCF82ED86F25F0E629E31EA445E. The difference of those two files: ?dif at 0042C1:E1 & 0042C1:E5 ?dif at 004408:FD & 004408:F9
  2. Lots of rumors, suspicions, fairy tales, nonsense ... What is it all about? - ABBUC e. V. is a registered association bound to respective laws. - The current intention is to change the statute. - The changes in discussion are major ones. - Therefore the legal process has to follow the rules laid out in the respective laws. - If the changes will be agreed on by the general assembly of the members, - The decided changes have to be taken to the responsive court to change the register about ABBUC e. V. - In this process it will be thoroughly checked by legals if everything has been done following the rules. - If this cannot be proofed, the changes will be denied. - The proof also comprises the time frame for the invitation to the general assembly. - For one of the proposed changes it might be requested to have a valid vote from all members. - And yes, there are a lot of discussions going on because it is really important. So this is not an easy to accomplish task. Therefore I ask all people not aware of the legal situation and not familiar with the respective legislation to stop telling more "rumors, suspicions, fairy tales, nonsense". -> A registered association is special legal issue not known outside of Germany. Nevertheless one can find a stub of information in English language here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Registered_association_(Germany)
  3. In early 2014 WASEO released very nice page flipping animations using their SROTATOR based on the works of an article from Tom Hunt, published in A.N.A.L.O.G. #16. Here is on of it prepared to be booted using SDX on a machine having at least 512 KiB of extended memory. If not available in hardware Altirra is your friend. Read about it in German in the magazine paper add-on of ABBUC magazine #116. SDX_Rotator_Atari_512KB.atr there is no need to flip any disk here as I put it on one disk image - just press a key. If getting disturbed by the prompt to do so, please REM line 280 in the file SROTATOR.TUR.

  5. There is no bug. Just downloaded and executed the latest version against your ROM. Every information is there. Guess it is related to your PC system.Using Linux no problem occurs.
  6. Yes version 2 is common. Only a few 600XL of the very first series were equipped with os version 1. It lacks pbi support.
  7. Firefox plug-in available for g@@gle or yandex Edge -> howto: https://www.howtogeek.com/672953/how-to-automatically-translate-a-web-page-in-microsoft-edge/
  8. It requires an XEP80. And to speed up working with it BASIC XL is recommended as the core part is in BASIC. It runs on Atari DOS 2.5, SpartaDOS XC2.3E, or SpartaDOS X32D. More MicroMiser software had already been posted in this forum:
  9. This seems to be something strange not related to the AVG cart at all. The first error message on your picture above pops up from time to time when using/testing SDX. Unfortunately, I could not find the source for it so far. Running SDX on a 800XL with IDE+ Rev C and 256 KiB Compy Shop memory extension. The files are not found though they even there, as DIR reports. The other errors show up from time to time as well. It is not predictable when it will happen. But as I saw it several times in Altirra as well running an exact mirror of my system setup it is real, seems to be hard to come by ...
  10. To be more precise: M -> Mode is either Sparta for the SDFS directory structure or Atari for all the AtariDOS 2.0 clones and their directory structures in single and double density only. If you switch from Sparta to Atari mode, impossible format settings will automatically be re-adjusted to legal Atari settings.
  11. Found it: AspeQt: Copyright 2009 by Fatih Aygun. You can freely copy, use, modify and distribute it under the GPL 2.0 license. Please see license.txt for details. Silk Icons: Copyright by Mark James (famfamfam.com). They are used in this package under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License.
  12. Yes - and an incomplete history: Ray is with the AspeQt project as of version 0.7. I cannot remember the original inventor's name, I think it was someone from Turkey, but I am not sure ...
  13. At least it is a flaw to be known for users of SDX. And no, of course nobody uses the speed adjustment up to 500% ?
  14. While testing SpartaDOS X beta parallel on real hardware and the mirrored setup in Altirra I came across a stepping stone: When in the configuration of Altirra the acceleration is set to 'Fast Boot', the config menu in the subdirectory SPARTA.DOS is bypassed. Setup is 800XL, 256 KiB Compy Shop memory extension, IDE+ Rev C. As long is it will stay that way there will be a note in the user guide.
  15. The SpartDOS X User Guide comes with a pretty comprehensive glossary ...
  16. Obviously, for many regular readers/users it is too obvious, but not clear to new (old) users. And it triggers the idea to include some paragraphs about it in the next manual. It may help as well on deciding what items to acquire for SDX usage. Good luck with fixing ...
  17. SDX is more than a simple DOS and needs quite some more resources than available in the Atari. For a pure cartridge based solution I recommend: https://www.bitsofthepast.com/?product=super-spartados-pcb It is the closest match to the use and behaviour of the original SDX cartridge from ICD. Want to look at SDX just to see? I recommend Altirra for this purpose. It will help to decide if the free available SDX is worth buying a decent hardware base. Altirra works well even on a Linux based pc. My real XL SDX setup is mirrored in Altirra to check new developments in advance to avoid surprises.
  18. You may upgrade the old cartridge. http://sdx.atari8.info/index.php?show=en_hardware Leads to:
  19. atarixle already provided a linux version on his website. Look for 'RespeQt-master-20210517', works fine except the not fixed problems with the printers (same for the Win version).
  20. Hm, after having done the tests for SDX last month to write up the updates for the user guide I put that stuff away in the attic. But I can tell you, this is leading nowhere. The XEP80 by default works in NTSC mode. Up to SDX 4.40 this was a show stopper in PAL county as many people tried to use it with their colour displays. Only monochrome 80 column monitors where always able to display the NTSC like output of the XEP80. It needed a little bit of adjustment of the H sync at the monitor as the signal of the XEP is a bit bogus. None of the software for the XEP80 I have ever seen and used showed 25 rows. It is uncommon for Atari 8 bit. Please look up the documentation on the original Atari disk for the XEP80 for explanations.
  21. Hm, this is might be wrong thinking, because the 80 column monochrome monitors BITD were capable of catching 60 Hz and 50 Hz video signals. It comes down to the question if it was made for 120 V power systems. And yes, there were the ones for Apple as well devices from Sanyo, Hitachi, and some no name brands. I remember having them seen at Radio Shack in the 1990's.
  22. ED is not really useful for displaying files having lines longer than 39 chars. With SDX use MAN instead. With an additionally registered viewer like LESS it is a very handy tool. Please see the manual for it. The picture I posted was just a test to see if the ANTIC screen comes up properly ...
  23. Please look up the doc files on the original XEP80 disk from Atari. The picture with the Philips shows the 80 column output, but by SDX' ED command the output switches to the 40 column display. Looks like this
  24. This is the standard output of the XEP80. Line 25 is a so-called status line to be addressed additionally when needed. See the user manual: " The status line is Y cursor value 24. This line may be used for input or output, however control characters do not edit, but only print in this line. One control is allowed, SHIFT DELETE. The line does not scroll. Be careful not to accidentally POSITION or POKE the cursor into this line while the BASIC command line processor is active as it may require use of the Reset key to recover from a lockup that can occur on this line." You may do this simple test to see the effect.
