Matt chat rockz!! Cool stuff.
Say, whats up with yer sig?? Did you help Matt publish some of his books?? Or his Youtube channel??
My sig? That is my PR firm. Matt is one of my clients and just an all around cool guy (I am a fan first). I am not involved with Matt and his books, and assist as needed with helping with guests for his Youtube channel (keep and eye on his channel, there are some great ones coming soon).
Oh, Okay.
Thats yer website? Shouldve hired a professional.

I read yer posts, funny how this Philly character hasnt answered one of yer questions yet like why he bought those other web addresses for your site. All he does is bash you, speaks volumes for the type of guy he is really. You posted enough that makes me believe some of what is being said is bullshit. Well tah, and good luck again.

Though I agree this buyer is a tool, what does the feedback system have anything to do with this?If this person planned on pulling a fast one and giving you a neg for no reason they can still do that, right? however with the improved seller protection you can get that neg wiped right off.
The only difference is you can't neg them back, but isn't that why ebay put into place better protective measures with the new updates?
It wasn't expensive. It was a $15 book.
As for the feedback system, here is the issue.
I don't think she's pulling a fast one.
I think she is stupid as a grain of rice.
She paid her $18.50 for the money order.
I will never get it in a zillion years.
She will think she is out $18.50 and blame it on me.
She will probably say in a negative feedback, "I paid, but never got my item."
I would like to leave her a negative back saying, "Buyer admittedly sent me a MO with no FREAKIN' STREET ADDRESS ON THE ENVELOPE ! I D I O T !"
Alas, I can no longer do that.
What proof will I have?
Ebay will never remove the neg, and there you have it.
It's not that big of a deal. One negative feedback since 1999. Actually, if she does neg me, I can finally stop freaking out and being so anal about
my 100% feedback. I would welcome it.
I was bound to get a complete moron eventually.
I already wrote her back saying this:
There are more than 40,000 people in the town of Cheshire.
Many of them have the last name xxxxx
It is a popular last name.
There is a xxxxx who lives in my neighborhood with no relation.
I would put the chance of this reaching me at around 3%.
Hopefully it will get returned back to you, but I would strongly suggest cancelling this Money Order.
Actually join the crowd by leaving what EBay sellers call Positive-Negative feedback. If she negs you for being idiotic, leave her a positive with a negative response; It may not affect her rating as a buyer, but any seller who checks her feedback will still get the warning.

They aren't even close to competing price-wise with eBay.
I guess I'm just cheap with my money.Well, part of what you're paying for from those stores is quality assurance, both for the actual items and in the customer service department. Both of those can be total crapshoots on eBay and the latter in particular is worth a few extra bucks to me and many others. As many of us know all too well, a great deal on eBay can turn into an enormous, costly hassle pretty darn quick.
You speak the truth! I've had a few bad experiences on EBay where sellers marked their merchandise n/m when it was actually extremely poor (i.e. destroyed manual, cart label falling off, etc.) Besides, most small stores offer better service and return policies.

All kidding aside, I'm fine with it as long as they don't say he invented pong and is the "father of video games"... bastard son who was good at marketing, maybe.I respect Ralph Baer but all of the Odyssey units all the way from the Brown Box through to the O^2 have far less lasting historical importance than what Atari accomplished during Nolan's era.
Yes but that was all marketing, not invention. Ralph INVENTED, and was the father of, video games. He was ripped off big time. His patents were ground breaking and he never really received his due in terms of recognition or compensation.
Ralph Baer was also a resident of New Hampshire when he conceived the first videogame.
The last time I saw a special on the birth of videogames, Ralph was still living in New Hampshire but had no interest in today's games. -
I really like Space Giraffe; I think it’s addicting, fun, and very easy to play. I agree with everyone else; Minter went overboard on the psychedelic effects and he really could have toned things down.
Jeff, we know you’re awesome with graphics, but there was no reason to make it into a bad LSD trip!

..and it's making me scratch my head in confusion. I have a wired Joytech NEO Se joypad and a 3rd party cooling fan (which uses USB) and they both refuse to work when they were working just under 3 weeks ago. My official (i.e. wired) 360 Joypad works perfectly in both USB ports, so I am at a loss as far as this issue is concerned. Before anyone questions why I own one of those NEO Se Joypads, it's smaller in design and fits my wife's hands better when we play 2-player games.
Any ideas on what may be causing this issue? I'm trying to contact Microsoft but you know how that goes! I'm always on hold.

If you do add me to your friend's list: D0j0 D0g
I'd like to play some of you!

You can now download the compilation from this webpage :http://fadest.free.fr/Yastuna/indexen.html
The licence is the same as Space Incident. Feel free to download, play with an emulator, burn ROM and distribute them.
It is 100% free. We just ask you to remain ROM unchanged, and keep our credits unchanged.
There are 6 games directly playable from main menu, but some other games are hidden. You will find tips on how to access them in adventure game.
Thank you for the contribution! I can't wait to try it out.

Forgive me for being dense (economics has never been one of my strong suits) but how do "blank" listings, inflated prices that nobody would ever buy and whatever else Buy.com is being accused of help them "cook the books" as it were?Well, according to the people over there, the listings are being cancelled, re-listed, cancelled, re-listed, etc., thus fudging the numbers for EBay's daily statistics to cover up the recent decline of sellers / listings on EBay.
Edit: fixed spelling

I don't use EBay very often...Then why the rant?
Any why is this in 'General Chat'? The Auction Central forum is loaded with threads like this.
The stories are appearing in the media so I felt it was ok to place it in General Chat.
If you are claiming a media related story, maybe it should be in Current Events?
Maybe the Moderators can move it to Current Events? The material in my post are excerpts from the EBay community board, and from the media, so whether anyone agrees with the content or not is moot. I just wanted everyone to know that all the ranting about the service has finally reached the media. Good or bad... I usually buy most of my retro gaming equipment from there, but after this I am not sure if EBay is really being fair to the people who buy / sell there.

This message is for the EBay sellers of AtariAge: boycott EBay; show them you’re tired of their inflated prices, new FB system, and allowing companies like Buy.com to post empty auctions to boost their listing statistics.
Just under 3 weeks ago EBay updated their Feedback system; this new system prevents Sellers from leaving negative / neutral feedback during a bad, unresolved transaction. Buyers still have the ability to neg sellers, and in recent weeks, this has been happening at an alarming rate. Since the threat of retaliatory feedback from sellers is no longer viable, buyers are abusing the system and basically ruining the EBay community. A visit to the EBay community boards will uncover a plethora of complaint threads, petitions, and rants that indicate how poorly EBay sellers are being treated.
EBay power sellers, EBay store owners, and the like have closed down their shops on EBay and cancelled their auction listings in protest over this new system. Daily and monthly performance charts from reputable market analysts have been posted on the EBay message board showing the impact this boycott is having on EBay as a company. To add injury to insult, Buy.com (an EBay competitor) has suddenly appeared on EBay, posting what sellers call empty auctions to boost EBay sale statistics. One Buy.com EBay auction is clearly fraudulent, selling a bottle of carpet cleaner (which retails for about $6.00) for $60+. Multiple dummy auctions by Buy.com have been listed, cancelled, and then relisted in an effort to boost sale statistics.
Another funny, inflated Buy.com auction on EBay
One of many articles about this debacle
I don't use EBay very often but after this I have no use for them! Down with Fleebay!

As far as Sega publishing classic games for a new system, what system hasn't Sega whored themselves to? You can play Sega games on every modern platform known to man. From cell phones to Gametap (PC) to hand-helds to console downloadable games. Having Sega games on it won't make an Apple console special. It really depends on what Sega offers if this system is even real. Remakes? Ports? I guess we'll have to wait and see if any of this really happens.
-
I'd rather have "Atari" and Apple make a console together. It can be argued that the new Atari probably doesn't have anyone left that could design a console system either. Like Sega, some of Atari's recent games haven't been very good.
Edit: Regardless of what happens, I hope this new system has decent games.
-
I can't understand why anyone would get exicted over a Sega console anymore. While I love my Dreamcast and Genesis, this company is nothing like it was during those years. Their games lack creativity and management is so bad that they are actually losing money during a time of record hardware and game sales. I really doubt there is anyone left at the Sega who could design a worthwhile console. Apple would be better off hiring some people to suppliment their hardware team and going it alone. The Apple name has a whole lot more respect today than the Sega name.I'm just excited over the possibility of a new console system.
I picture Apple designing the console and Sega producing some of their classics for the system.
-
I'm not sure I'll ever be able to recognize a 360 without problems, so I'm staying away until I'm *really* sure my system will make it for at least 10-20 years. That is the biggest scare that will probably keep me from ever owning one. Has there ever been a console that has had a higher failure rate? That and I fear that in 10 years these games might not have the same playability factor as games that are currently a decade old, due to the fact that online play is key for this gen.
I believe the first run of Playstations had a very high malfunction rate based on overheating issues. I actually waited a few years before buying one in fear of the system burning up!
-
Apple and Sega sounds like a winning combination if it's done right, so I agree, retro. As dorky as they are, those Apple commercials are eye catching and funny (the I'm a PC... ones). I'll definitely give it a chance, more so than I have given the Wii (seeing as how I haven't bought one yet). A Sega console backed by Apple advertising? Sounds good to me! The two worlds can come together well. Sega knows games, but Apple can push millions of boxes out the door. They kinda compliment each other.Nathan
I agree Nate; Apple and Sega working together on a game system would be a very exciting prospect. Just as long as they don’t mimic Panasonic’s 3DO or Philip’s CD-I with untouchable hardware prices, and mediocre 3rd party support, they should be fine. I’d love to see a new Marathon game for the system if it becomes a reality! I don’t know if I like the idea of having the content downloadable though. Nothing beats holding an actual game box in your hands with a printed manual. Call me old fashion but that is the way I feel.

Where can I purchase one??

I'll buy one if the price is reasonable!
