i think regulated means it is designed to put out a certian amount of power but i could be wrong

after thinking about your post, i realize how to cut the adapter, battery, to the console. and i figured i can't use an 800 adapter. i had a brain freeze for a little while.

markdil, thanks you've been a big help. could i use an atari 800 power adapter to do this? the adapter end is where it goes into the 2600,right?

anyone interested in a 2600 joystick and i'll throgh in an ultra rare combat all for only $40. how can you pass this up?

anyone here fix 2600 consoles? i got 2 2600 4 switcher motherboards. on both, the 1st player control ports are off and some of the surronding alluminum is off but mostly where the pins go into. on 1 of them the game select switch is off but i got an extra one. other than those problems they work fine. anyone know how to do work like this?

markdil, when you say adapter you mean the power supply right? i just don't want to screw anything up. what 9 volt rechargable battery do you recommend? could you please explain how it goes from the battery to adapter in detail cause im really stupid when it comes to this stuff.

could someone explain how to power a 2600 with a battery. what battery should be used and how to hook it up? could a 9mm camcorder battery work? im tring to finish my portable but i need some expert help with this.

I'll try to explain this the best I can. Why is it when games like pac-man, E.T., or other horrible games were made more thought was put into their making. I would think they would know how cheezy and unpopular they would become. Wouldn't they make more money if they were actually playable and people wanted to buy them? But then agian they may have been popular back then cause Im 19 and know nothing. now, the game berzerk V.E. thats avaiable now, why didn't they think of that back then? I know I would of.

sorry about that when turned on the game goes through the game variations like the switch was stuck down. games like pitfall work fine. i thought it was the switch so i replaced it but still does the same thing. after closer inspection of the belt (6 switch), i noticed the bar that you can see through the plastic holes is broke in thirds (like someone took something and poked through the bar) unlike the top one thats one bar and not broke. what else could there be?

my game select switch goes 1,2,3,4,ect... when turned on. i replaced the switch. the belt (6 switch) seems fine but the bar that is visible through the small plastic holes look busted. what else should i look for?

well i got a big surprise today. i took my 5" tv and took the antena amplifier out and plugged my 2600 video input into that and by god it worked. clear pic too and nice sound. the tv has a place to run off batteries so all i need now is a power source for the 2600 console. what could i use for a power source? and how? this could be called the poor mans portable

just pondering something. is it possible to take a 2600 jr. and hook it up to one of those super small portable tv's (5") or a gameboy color to make a sort of cheap portable 2600? now the power supply would be a big rechargable battery or something. but everything would fit in a briefcase. i don't know anything technical about electroics but what do you think?

last nite i dreamed i went into a house like a garage sale and found a bunch of 2600 stuff. i seen a quadrun plus other rares and hundreds apon hundreds of carts and about 10 heavy sixers and a rainbow console. the guy was a big atari colector but he died so i talked to his wife. she gave all of it to me for $10. then i walked out of the house and fell off a cliff. then i woke up and said "dam". that dream made me depressed the whole day.
