Tron Light Cycles for Colecovision - Work in progress
parkfun101 replied to parkfun101's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Thank you, I worked hard to emulate the arcade machine version for the Light Cycle portion. I had a friend of mine, Aaron, who got the winning music working for me, but I did all the other sounds and everything else(graphics, sfx, gameplay, etc). I played the arcade game over and over and over again on a MAME emulator to try and get it to look and feel just like the arcade. I even got it so that if you hold a diagonal on the joystick, that you can do a diagonal type move or a U-turn just like the Arcade does. It's funny ... I've been going to yard sales and reselling certain items on Craigslist and eBay and using the money to pay for my collection of NES games that I buy in bulk. -

This is a video I had recorded a while back for Light Grid Racing. It quickly shows you all the weapons and obstacles and gameplay. -

I'm waiting for my copy as well and I made the game. I emailed Toby about a week ago and he said he was expecting the boxes in the next two weeks. I can't wait to showcase it right beside my Tank Challenge game. -
Any interested in a NINTENDO / SHARP COMBO TV?
parkfun101 replied to parkfun101's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
My room is too small for something that large if I want to collect other things as well. If only I could go back in time, I would buy a bunch of 1st series unopened Garbage Pail Kid packs, unopened G.I.Joe's and Transformers and a bunch of NES stuff and just hoard them till 30 years later. Also, I would never hang out with one of my ex-girlfriends....I would love to have not been around her. ...that is how she looked when she was angry.... If I see another one on Craigslist or something in the future, I will let people know on here so they can get the contact info. -

Sorry, he decided to put it on eBay and/or Craigslist. I just got an email from him. I'm not sure which model it is. -
I'm asking this because I collect more games than anything else, but a friend of mine wants to sell this to me and I am willing to sell it here instead of on eBay. I do not believe it comes with any controllers or games. I'll have to ask. I would be selling it for $500 $450 + shipping. Please let me know if you are interested and I can go ahead and buy it from him. Otherwise, he's planning to put it on Craigslist. I can post images if you are interested. He said it is in perfect condition and the images he has shows it playing a game and it has all of its doors and legs. Thanks, Todd

Sorry, but there is no 4 player mode. (I'm not sure how that would even work). There is however a 1P vs CPU, 1P vs 2P and a 1P and 2P vs CPU mode. Tarzilla has thoroughly tested the 1P and 2P vs CPU (COOP mode) and he feels that it is the most fun mode of all because you have to communicate to the other player where your going so you guys won't run into each other's lines. With the addition of the Line Destroyer weapon, there are times where Player 2, for example, may be stuck in a maze and Player 1 could hit the Line Destroyer at the right time (changes color every couple of seconds) and destroy the Maze that Player 2 is stuck in. On top of that, the other weapons create exciting actions in the game that I didn't even think of when I was designing it. For example the Disruptor weapon disrupts all bikes lines except the player who is touching the disruptor orbs. So I was trying to block off a CPU bike and a different CPU bike hit the disruptor and left a gap in my line perfectly placed to allow the guy I was trying to block to get through. It surprised me and made me laugh and get serious at the same time because I had to concentrate on what to do next. It was pretty cool. I like the idea of making games that allow for 2 players at the same time for Colecovision because that is where memories are made. Hanging out with your friend, brother, sister, son, daughter, whatever, it is something you can joke about and hopefully can create a lasting memory. I'm sure a lot of you remember playing games like Contra, Joust, or Gauntlet, etc. with your friends or family and have fond memories of those types of games. It forces you to hang out with others instead of just isolating yourself from everyone else (which also can be fun, but in a different way). -
Thanks guys, I have never sold on here before and I will definitely do it again. eBay takes about 10% and I can sell it on here cheaper and still make more money than on eBay....after their fees. I have some more Atari stuff, but it is nowhere near as exciting as the Smurfs game that I found at a yard sale and had no idea how rare it was. I do also have the Owners Manual for the Kid Vid Voice Module as well. It is kind of interesting to see how it connects using the 2nd player port.

Hey guys, Sorry, I walked away from my computer just to use the bathroom and nanochess and McCallister have now PM'd me. How does this work, do you guys want to bid it out or would you prefer I just take the first person who PM'd or posted? McCallister was the first person to contact me or post anything so I will give it him. Sorry nanochess, but thank you for supporting my development efforts! :-)

I'm selling the following for Atari 2600: Smurfs Save the Day (8/10 for Rarity) +All Tapes + Manual I tested today and the game Works! I'm asking $50. I'd rather do this here rather than eBay. Please see all the images for item condition as there is a scratch on the back of the game, but it doesn't affect the game at all.

Contact coleco_master directly. That is what I would do. He should be able to get you all straight. -

Special Limited Edition? :-) Very cool! I love the box art on all the boxes. I'm so glad to be a part of all this! I'm also glad I used this Forum to not only let you guys know about the game, but to be able to utilize your ideas and put them into the game (along with credits to those that helped out). Some of my friends thought I was crazy to be making games for a 30 year old system until they saw the box, cartridge, manual and got to play the games first hand....then they were like, "This is so awesome!" I have a passion for game making and and the entire game design process. I never just make a game to say I made a game, I'd rather make something that long after I'm gone, people will still enjoy because it has well thought out gameplay and a great replayability factor. If I don't enjoy my own game, I will either tweak it to make it more fun or I will not release it. You guys on here are friendly, respectful, and just plain awesome and that is why I will continue making games for Colecovision. -

For Robotron 2084, if there was some sort of Colecovision controller holder, the player could potentially use 2 joysticks. The controller holder would just secure the Colecovision controllers so they could be held together side by side or sat down on a table. It would be wide enough to fit over your lap and perhaps be a bit weighted to help keep it from moving while you play. The player could then use the Player 1 joystick to move and Player 2 joystick to fire. If this controller holder existed, the player could choose which side they want the Movement and Firing controllers on which would be a nice feature. Just a thought. ....I've never played Discs of Tron, but perhaps this controller holder could also be used for that game. -

I just make the games and hand it off to CollectorVision Games to produce so that is a question for Coleco_Master. He told me sometime in August, but he would have to confirm the actual release date. Nobody every uses this emoticon, so I thought I would. -

Thanks MonsterMawd! If you have any questions about the modifications or anything, please feel free to ask. I think I have probably posted most of the images of how to do the modifications so I do not mind sharing. -

This is AWESOME Atariboy2600!!! You even did the text with the coloring and font like I used on the Title screen except in 3-D! For those of you who are like, "What are those ball things on the right?" Those are Disruptor spheres that when touched, disrupt the lines of all the other bikes temporarily, leaving gaps in their lines. Awesome Cover!!!
