  1. Hi, I'm from sunny southern Hanko. Thanks for the info Ben! Was there any pictures in the auction? If there was, I'm sure someone has saved them... Hiqh quality scans of the front and sides wouldn't hurt (and why not the blank back?-) though I suspect there wasn't such, from that particular box anyway... Would be nice to print the covers as DVD-sized And I still have these questions: Is the cover art to be found anywhere else and who might be the artist? (The game/concept was obviously based on the Bakshi movie, so might be someone involved in there.) What do "mockups" mean in the first quote by me)? From which catalog is the box shot on Atari Connection -site? http://2600connection.atari.org/lotr.html BTW. Were the three Lord of the Rings comic albums based on Bakshi movie ever released on US? Never see them on eBay or anywhere. I think they are great and here's my page about them: http://www.synchronic.cjb.net -> go to Collecting -> LOTR comics (I have three spare comics in finnish for trade but only for something really interesting. F.ex. other languaged versions of the comics.) - Jukka --

  3. "Lord of the Rings: Journey to Rivendell", from http://www.atariage.com/features/lotr/ : > A prototype box was actually created for this game > and was sold on Ebay in 2001. Most likely this box > was used for display purposes at one of the CES shows > in the 1980's, and it is probably blank on the back. > Supposedly there were also mockups sent to Toys 'R' > Us stores for promotional purposes. I would be interested knowing how much was the box sold on eBay? And other rather meaningles facts like how many bidders were there? Where was the box found in the first place? Was there any pictures with the auction? (Probably at least the picture here on Atariage?) And what do "mockups" mean? (I'm finnish; didn't find it on dictionary ) What do you think, any hope for more of these boxes to appear?-) Is the cover art to be found anywhere else and who might be the artist? PS. I'm interested in buying the box / prototype / anything original for this game (The Parker Brothers 1983 catalog I already have.) From which catalog is the box shot on Atari Connection -site? - Jukka -- http://www.synchronic.cjb.net - Flea market (old computer games for trade and wanted (Sierra/Lucas/Tolkien/AD&D)), my music in MP3, collecting pages, and beyond! - --
