oooh, I'm gettin dizzy... I think you might be mis-identifying a component. The RF modulator is actually inside the 2600. That's what's on the other end of the cable that you plug into the TV via the RCA-to-coax adapter or the good ol' fashioned switch box. Can you reliably repeat that result? I'm not quite understanding why it would have worked. I think he wanted me to connect the AV cable from my Atari to another one. I opened up mine to see if the cable got loose from its socket, but its snuggly in there. Squeezed the metal clips around it to tighten the connection. Don't think thats the problem. Just want to check, Channel Select A and B are Channels 3 and 4 right? I hear it can be channel 2? Sorry for such noob questions, first time using an Atari 2600. My 6 switch 2600 works on channel 2 & 3. ALRIGHT!!!! Well I set it to Channel A, and went to Channel 2. With some more fiddling with the power supply I actually got the game to come up. To keep it up I wrapped the cable around the console. At least I know the console lives and just needs a new power supply. Thanks everyone !

Hmm I do not have another 2600 on hand or near me, and I am not sure what TLC is. I think I pin pointed the problem to the power supply cause I did some more fiddling with the connector, and if I pushed the cable hard into the actual plug (not the jack) I could faintly see some text in the center of the screen (think it was the joust logo that appears). Does anyone else think its the power supply? Just want to double check before I go buy one.

So I got myself a 6-switch Atari 2600, and I am having trouble getting it to work. I bought myself a RCA to Coaxial adapter from "The Source" and hooked up the video and power connectors. I have a copy of Joust that I wanted to play. When I switch the system on, I still get white noise as if it wasn't connected. I get that quick flick for a sec when it powers on, but then nothing. I tried jiggling the power connector (seems worn) and I'd get some change in picture, but still white noise. Did I get a dead system? Also does an Atari 2600 still produce a black screen if the cartridge is absent, like a Nintendo system does?
