  1. Luckily I used Gmail as I'm not sure I'd have managed to save the confirmation email via other email clients or methods as I've had 2 different ISPs since then.

For anyone else searching for theirs, try searching emails around October 1, 2010. I preordered as soon as I could so presumably most of the original preorders would have been from that time.

  2. Hey guys,

I'm a collector in Newcastle, Australia and thought I'd make myself known in case anyone out there wants to trade or sell/buy stuff.

My main collection is Atari 2600, but I collect lots of stuff (Atari 2600/5200/7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, Arcadia 2001, Videopac, NES/SNES/N64/Gamecube/Wii/WiiU, Virtual Boy, probably others I've forgotten about) and am currently trying to focus on my Atari 5200 collection.

I have about 58 unique titles for the 5200, and have a bunch of spare consoles and doubles of games (21 titles) that I would be willing to trade for stuff I don't have.

    Hi there

I'm also in Newcastle, and I have a fair bit of Atari stuff

I've got 2 x 5200s (a 2 port and a 4 port) but I haven't turned them on for years now as I've lost the power supplies. I do have a heap of carts too that I can look through if you like. Also have a heap of VCS, 7800, Intellivision, Coleco, Commodore and lots more.

I'm also a scanning contributor to www.oldgamemags.com so I have heaps of magazines.

Give me a yell if you want to chat sometime - have you ever been a regular garage sale scrounger over the years? We've probably come across each other before if so!

  3. Well, is there a pretty big chance it will work? :?:

It depends on your TV. Check out my Atari NTSC vs PAL vs SECAM page to understand why.

Just about any TV sold in Australia in the last 15 years will have no problem with NTSC or PAL, so it won't be that the tv will have problems. As per the site you linked, there can be differences in colours.

Galaxian - I've got plenty of US carts and nearly all of them work fine in my PAL machines, so you shouldn't have any issues. You can import a US model if you really want 100% compatibility - and you can use your local AC adapter on the US model too.

  4. Another Aussie here, I'm from Newcastle

    My collection includes:

    Atari 2600 w/ 350 carts (160 boxed)

Atari 5200 w/ 30 carts (sent over from the US when a mate was there)

Atari 7800 - can't remember how many carts I think about 40, all boxed

    Atari 800XL w/ about 20 boxed carts

    Intellivision w/ 65 boxed carts

    Colecovision w/ 20 boxed, 10 loose carts

Emerson Arcadia 2001 Mint in box

    Mint NES Toploader

Philips Videopac G7000 with 10 carts

A Saturn & Dreamcast with stacks of games

SNES, NES, N64, Gamecube with tonnes of games

    PS1, PS2, XBOX etc

Plus just about every Commodore computer since the Vic 20, plus numerous other vintage computers like Apple IIe, Boxed Mattel Aquarius, a Coleco Adam in box, Amstrads, you name it :)

A few boxed Game & Watches

Thats all I can think of for now :)

  5. i have 2 vaders, a Jr and 2 7800's

im yet to buy a 6switch and a 4switch woodgrain...

id be luky to get a heavy 6er here in aus... :|

    Don't give up !

I have found 2 of them in my town (Newcastle). I saw them both at garage sales and when I saw the US power adapter with them I looked and couldn't believe it. I assume they were ether imported by eager gamers who couldn't wait for a local release. We also have a RAAF base up here, so maybe they were left here by Americans who were working up there.

    It's a bit of a mystery, but I'm not complaining :)
