I am not sure the cat could recover from the back broken so high up, it is possible the cat was put out of it's misery. I don't know many vets who would have tried to do anything other than painkillers followed by euthanizing the cat. It's a heartbreaking thin from any viewpoint

I hope whoever did this gets caught, gets time, and most importantly- gets publicly outed so people know what a monster they are.

And that includes if they were 'putting her out of her misery' after an accident- it wasn't their cat, it wasn't their call, and euthanasia is far gentler than a goddamn shot to the head!

This is why if I were in politics, federal level animal cruelty laws would be a top priority.

My cat's just about 18 years-old, and she's living in borrowed time. She had some sort of cancer back in 2013, and for some miracle, she's been in remission ... but her age is catching up with her. We are hoping it can make it another Christmas, but we're not counting on it.

I know it's going to suck for me when my cat goes, but my wife is going to lose it. I've been trying to prepare her for several years now, but still...
