but that is including the .o header and prepared fro stream unpacking. i am not sure that i ever created a version which directly can parse binabries to the correct location ...

I used it only for video-playback on the lynx until now.

  3. For some I do not even know who made them, even if, I do not have the email adresses.

    Some even came with source.

But at least I think i can post some still images ... maybe someone recognizes his product and releases it ;-)

BTW: Out call to everyone here: Archive your stuff on demozoo.org! There are only a few Lynx productions and a good part is from BLL.

not quite true, all recent released demos are there. I would not add game protos or plein tech tests etc. This doesnt make sense. I know, that your IRQ test is listed there and elsewhere ... no idea why

I'm a musician as well and producer that knows midi but I don't know anything in terms of lynx music.  I just know it has one of the best sounds on any atari.  Would love to learn how to create some tunes with the lynx.

so, maybe a bit more seriously:

    a) you have "only" four channels in parallel, so no black midi

    b) you have to create/find good instruments which

b1) sound good over the frequency /note range you use for that instrument

b2) fit to the other you use

so translating the notes fro midi to something a player on the lynx understand is the simplest part. and there are tools for that.

  6. The same command implemented as in the live player (keyboard->PC->COMLYNX).

Not on and off with velocity, programs, pitch....

    Thus commands 8,9,A,(B),C,D,E

    B only 120

If it works, why not. I have tried lots of ways to create cool music on the Lynx. The problem is the limited memory. You cannot just turn MIDI to Lynx music. It eats up all memory.

    You can 🙂

Just have to stream the midi commands from the card -> see my synth examples :)

  8. The boot loader needs to be in both AUDIN switchable banks, as the power up state is undefined or better, differs between different lynx versions.

Thus the first thing the bootloader code has to do is to bring the bit to a defined state.

Where you put your directory is then up to you.

I decided to have it in bank0 only, and switch AUDIN back and forth each time I access it. the bank is encoded in the upper bits of the offset as the block number is already using 8 bits.
