  1. 2008 was GREAT for me - I discovered I HAVE a rare! Stumbled upon this website and remembered I have a PI from when I was a kid. My dad worked for Coke and he brought home 2 of them. The other is either at my parents house (which they can't find) or I gave it to my best friend and neighbor when we were kids (more likely). I THOUGHT about selling it - but since the prices are down - decided not to. Instead, I bought a 2600 and have played it a few times recently!
  2. I have an original Pepsi Invaders
  3. I HAD about 50 to 75 'commons' back in the day. Probably gave everything (system, joysticks, etc) away about 20 years ago - sans the PI. GLAD I kept that one....
  4. You made the right choice man. Once you start digging in again, you forget how much you loved certain games (eg. Raiders of the Lost Ark baby!) I thought I would only get one console to relive it all, now I have 13. It's a sweet sickness I tell ya. Cheers, -JustJeff This is starting something. I told my wife about this and she said her Atari from her childhood is probably still around. So, I had dear old mother-in-law do some digging. She found the games (don't know which ones yet) and controllers. Seems the console was pitched, as it was broken. So, I bought a 2600 from a board member here and look forward to some flashbacks to a simpler time when I could actually work the buttons and play the games (unlike a complicated first shooter PS2 game). I also look forward to seeing if the PI still works. {keeping fingers crossed} JJ
  5. Well, some nice people here talked me into it. I'm keeping the game for now, buying a 2600, and diving into another hobby! If anyone from the Detroit area wants to come see/play an original PI, let me know! I'll boot up the Vic 20 and we can start playing with some BASIC code, as well. Maybe I need to make the room into a 'retro' room?!!!
  6. Sitting in a milk crate in my basement with some other things from my youth.....
  7. El, Thanks. I THINK I'm going to hold onto it for now. I KNOW it's legit, but how do I prove it to the members of the board? I've shown the pics of the inside and outside of the cartridge. For now, just add me to the list of 20 or 21 confirmed copies. Thanks! Chris
  8. Sir, that is the BEST plan yet! Anyone here from the northern burbs of Detroit? On a sad note, mom and pop didn't find the boxed one So, I have 1 loose PI cartridge. Anyone interested in making #3 come true for me? How much $$ is it worth??
  9. How are these for pic of the inside? I'm gonna go to Fleabay today and pickup an old 2600. Hopefully, I will hear from the parents today regarding the boxed version.
  10. Get a 2600! You got a great start of a collection. I'm considering it. I still have my original Vic 20. Atari next??!!!
  11. I KNOW it's genuine Like I said, I got it from Coke! I just hope we find the other in a box. I'm just debating what to do. The $ is tempting, but before today, I had no idea these were valuable. SOO, maybe I hold onto them? Decisions....
  12. Here's what I have for the loose cartridge. Still waiting word on the boxed one (if it still exists).
  13. My father worked for Coca Cola for 30+ years. Back in the early 80's, he came home with 2 Pepsi Invaders games. While surfing the net today, I discoverd how rare these are! So, I hurried home from work and wanted to see if the game was where I left it. To my joy, it was! I had given away my system years ago, along with all the games. I kept the Pepsi Invaders one. I called my mother looking for the other copy. I believe we have one still in the original box at her house. She's looking now. I hope to get a call in the morning that we still have it! Although, there's an outside chance we gave it away to a family friend back in the day. So, the question is: What should I do??!!!! The confirmed cartridge is loose and has some wear and tear marks on it. I don't even have an Atari to play the darn thing. Any advice?? My dad wasn't an executive in Atlanta, either.
