  1. I'm currently inthe midsts of putting a P4 motherboard, ass loads of ram.. 80 gig hardrive, soundplaster live and ati all in wonder video card into an atari, as well as chopping up the original mobo of an VCS to fit just in the hump of the unit. then AV mod it and run the out put of the VCS directly to the Tuner of the All in wonder, so that you can actually runa cart out of it in real time besides an external power supply and USB fuled CD-rom.. its should look like a stock VCS after all is said and done
  2. it does look good! great job so far! And considering the placement of the keys.. it brings a whole new dimension to playing with yourself at the computer! Like to see the paddles speeded up, however
  3. well the wavy rf thingy looks pretty realistic (screengrab) but I'm a wee bit confused here.. wasn't Pong done all in solid state with out a programed chip or am I missing something here? far as I knee pong couldnt be emulated, but only simulated. in any case I'm gonna download it vivala Pong revolution!
  4. around about 85-86 I was virtually living at the mall considering at that point, My mother was now a single parant and keeping her kid of the streets, so.. she brings me to work thalhimers, gave me five bucks a day, and let me run wild all over the mall.. and Kaybe was selling off all the INTV stuff big ass baskets full of INTV games, and I had an INTV on account that my aunt and uncle had givin one to me when my cousins got tired of it, and it stopped working for them, the ten year old knew how to beat things like this and get them working again, just so happens this sis the same way I got my Betamax ( wich also still works to this day) so for about a month there I was buying about four INTV games a day when I was slumming the malls while mom worked. I sold off my original INTV for a about $100 and all the games, and mom matched my funds and I got an OMNIBOT! right now I have a 30 inty games, and one dead INTV that I came accross all at once I will say.. I still have OMNIBOT, and OMNIBOT is still rocking and rolling.. although.. I need to replace his griping hand. oh.. just in case any one cares or has the meens.. I'm looking for a working INTV and a OMNIBOT 2000
  5. good to hear al! as for Hack amatic.. my god. it scares the hell out of me. I downloaded it.. and tried to run it.. wouldnt load up my bin.. and now it wont let me kill it! Im sure its benign becouse nothing funky has happened with my computer.. but I dont like the idea of not being able to get it off my computer
  6. sorry Happy.. its more than just the BG colour.. the font colors also are the same.. and the entire layout replicates the look and feel of Thirdbirds design. thats my opinion.. and you know about opinions
  7. yep..thats right.. I want a DEAD VCS, or just the case.. thats all I'm interested in.. I would perfer a dead one on account of the being able to have the switches and cart port, but thats just for visability just to clue you in.. I want it for a case mod experiment. yes.. I know its been done and commercially available.. But I want to do it for myself Please PM or E-mail if you you can help me out!
  8. interesting.. I sent atari Leaf a atari400/800 cassette by regular ground mail and it was to him within a week and a half, granted.. I sent it out via US mail.. what happened to it once it hit the border.. I have no idea hell.. the only delay in him recieving his package was my lazy broke ass forking over the buckfiddy to get it in the mail! you results may vary
  9. Isn't that the starpath cassette game? I don't have anything to trade ya in comaparison.. I can only offer cash and quite frankly.. I could give a rats ass about it being in the box and shrinkwrapped and all that hoopdajoob.. I just wanta play it
  10. y'know..that dos sound lke the RF modulator is starting to die out.. although.. I'm no expert on these matters.. hell..the TV might even be playing with you but it sounds like it might be time to attempt the ole Composite modification
  11. yeah.. I gotta agree with thirdbird on this.. there should bedifining individual entiries, not reworking of others entiries. if that were the case there wouldve been an official template to be refined by the participants. and the contest would be based around that

    synthcart.

Just grabbed it.. sounds interesting so far.. is that appegiation cord with the flange coming from the synthcart as well?
  13. first off.. try to use a direct RF to coax adaptor instead of the switch box. the switchbox could be fouled. if that doesn't work... the board could have a bad RF modulator a google search should help you find what you are looking for.. I do however know that there is at least one place still repairing bad units with factory techs, and OEM parts..
  14. I got the Z running on my little pissy lap top here now its the gateway model solo2000 P.O.S special edition model might I add Z26.log is the name of the command line file.. just read it as a text file from notepad and enter your comman lines in there.. the emulator will read them and automaticly execute them.. for example.. my command log is set up as -v1 -s1. and the tells the emulator to run at 60hz video modea nd the PC speaker becouse the laptop doesn't have soundblaster compatible sound.. on this computer everything works fine with out modification. sometimes you need to adjust frame rate on particular computers.. frame rate works fine on all my computers.. but on the computer I had at the old job. it ran too damn fast so I had to slow it down your results may very
  15. yeah..it aint about graphics.. the original programers had very little to work with so everything was thrown into game play.. thats why you played the hell out of those games when you were a kid on that nasty little B&W TV a lot of games today? damn.. they're just expanding on ideas that were at least introduced on the 2600.. you like legend of zelda and the like? sorry.. would'nt exist if it wasn't for adventure.. and all the cheats and hidden bugs.. yep.. adventure again.. the first game to have an easter egg! modern programmers have been rehashing the same concepts for years.. the only diffrence in a lot ways is the way the game is presented. as for pacman.. thats just a bad example of Marketing gone horribly awry.. same thing with ET. if you give a damn about maze games.. download the rom hack of pacman from here. or better yet.. get Jr.pacman.. the best pacman port for the 2600 IMHO and to see what the systemis really capable of.. check out some of the crazy stuff people are doing in the programers forums, particuarly the fung ku one welcome back tot he wonderful world of atari man
  16. lets see if I have some answers for ya.. Z-26 is my favorite 2600 emu... 1. What is trace mode? No idea .. but I'm sure its for some sort of diagnosis.. 2. What does the screen capture do? it captures screens basicly hitting that button takes a picture of whats going on, on the screenat that time.. good for proving you hit that high score.. it captures pictures in PCX form so you need a graphics program that can translate that.. then you can covert it to a bmp or jpg.. or whatever.. and do with it as you see fit. 3. What do the command line switches do, and how do you use them? your comman line options are the designators you put in front of the rom name to tell the emulator what to do, best used from the command line, but if yer running directly from Z-26's GUI, you can set up the command log to automaticly execute your command line options pressing F1 from Z26's GUI will give you all the standard paramaters and let you know what you can modify I am looking to get into the program code of the games I download and start hacking (eventually). Can I do this with z26? I'm pretty sure NO.. all Z26 will allow you to do is run the games so you get a diffrent application to get into them.. and you'll find whatever information you will need in the development and hacking sections of AA
  17. I don't remember the baud rate.. bt yeah.. I was being REAL generous with that rate, mine wasnt acoustic persay.. it was a bread board that plugged into the serial adaptor on the ole' vic 20.. from the pooter to the wall.. it was fine.. dirt cheap.. and slow... all ghetto.. but it worked for the BBS days.. and when you had to directly call a server a thousand miles away is when you wold find out the prefix codes the phone company techs used to check and test with out charges being applied. still a great way to call long distance from anywhere, they just change the codes far more frequently nowadays. like once a month as oppsed to once year
  18. very good price too! I don't think I have found one in the wild for anything under $500
  19. now what would be really cool.. would be a Rom Dump of the games on AA. thanks to mr. wiz there I now have my tapes backed up.. but the dumps on AOL would be nice.
  20. well.. to venture a guess.. you got a big ass cooling fan behind the power supply up there in the upper right hand corner, now, with a simple wooden box cover like that, I would install cooling ports on the bottom of the metal chasis. that would draw the air from the bottem, over all the parts, then out that fan and should do a rather adiquite job of evacuating the hot air. Now.. I think woods all kinds of classy.. so I'm gonna quote myself froma previous forum and thread...
  21. yer right about the cam lock things, And I'm pretty sure anyone who would buy your kit would have enough skill and paitence to be able to slap it alltogether the proper way. I also agree with your preception off all MDF. that stuff tends to disintigrate at critical joints. but for costs considerations I would think about being able to offer that material as a bare bones cheap alternative to a more expensive more finished product. I remember years ago, when nintendo first came out a arcade style cabinet made to hold a 23 inch television, a nintendo and built in arcade controls with plug ins for the nintendo with a slide out shelf under the console for the actual unit. it was at toys r us and cost a couple of hundred dollers. the material used to construct it was obviously the particle press board with a white vynl laminate and black edge molding. very basic, and did the job.. I would love to find one of these old cases inthe wild and modify it to my needs, but your idea sounds pretty close and more feasable. you might also want to consider creating a cocktail table design as well
  22. you could just provide the kit "as is" no finishing whatsoever, just bare wood. we can make this as complicated as you want, just the features your looking for, and the amount of preassembly work would reflect the over all price adjustment. the kit could just simply come in a flat shipping box and you assemble it yourself with a allen key lock bolt toggle thing, basicly just like any piece of fabricated furniture you would find at wallmart or the like. Just make the assembly as idiot resistant as possible, and requiring the use of basic hand tools that anyone should have around the house, like a #2 philips skrewdriver, or a cheap allen key that you could include with the hardware kit. you could also reduce your cost and labor by making a model that can accomodate some of the prefabricated arcade controllers allready on the market. as for my personal prefrence for a package, unassembled, natural unfinished wood, and assembled control kit. well.. would the pieces be made of Plywood or pressboard?
  23. just build your on.. I know you don't want to .. its just easier to deal with. there are no commercial adaptors being made right now.. so as far as being lazy and just buying one prefab...yer SOL.. I have allready explained the easy way ( in my opinion ) of doing this in a previous thread inthe emulation forum. it basicly envolves taking a existing 2600 joystick, yanking the cord, then soldering the contacts from the stick to the contacts on a cheap ass gravis game pad. hey.. it aint the lazy method yer looking for..but it aint hard to deal with either, just takes a little work.
  24. dang..here I stared this thread.. wich kinda looks like it started a entire topic area.. I don t know. but.. I had to punk out becouse I had to fic my teeth.. when in philly.. hit monks cafe's for the beer. sure..hit hooters for the PPV, but hits monks cafe' first.. by the time you get out of there.. you wont mind the neverending fountain of bud at hooters ( allright.. the scenerey is usually quite nice at hooters ) but trust me nodding head is right down the street from monks, and monks wil rock your world the beer guy has spoketh! that is all carry on
  25. well.. of course its a useless gimmick.. but then.. I'm the type of guy that has a fully functional life sized bust of elvis as a lamp base
