  1. Hey guys! That is in fact a glitch in Mountain King. I had read it in an older magazine once, in which they replied to a letter about the Hidden Area. You are in fact jumping around in the program code, hence the reason ladders and platforms pop in and out when you move the joystick, etc. Variables and registers are changing on the fly, and the kernal is adjusting the representation of that. The double jump required to get up there was never anticipated. However, I did discover this thing on my own when I was a kid and thought I was the coolest guy around, then the internet came, and I discovered others knew about it. It was only in perusing some old periodicals a couple years ago did I realize it was officially addressed. It is still super cool. Mike

    Atari in movies

I was watching Soylent Green just the other day, and behold: A white Computer Space in the prostitues(I think) apartment. Charlton Heston goes to visit her for some "action" and there are people there, etc. It is brief, and a rare sighting nonetheless. I actually have a lot of notes on Atari sightings, with all of the above posts mentioned already. Let's not forget E.T. the movie, with the 2600 hooked up to the television and Elliot showing E.T. how to play. Fred Savage in Princess Bride is playing Hardball on an Atari 800 (I think). He at least is using an Atari joystick. I can't remember much more from my "geek" list. It is so funny how I would make so many mental notes of Atari games in movies. The no-brainer, Tron, with Atari Football 2/4-player trak-ball edition, etc. Marble Madness was just in a movie, too. Oh well.. It would make a nice coffee table books, with scenes from movies... maybe not. Mike
  3. Better yet, Ken... Let Digital Eclipse do the whole package, videos and all, with proper emulation. I am the Creative Director here, and we've been working with you guys for a bit. In fact, Brian Clarke (Producer) just left our office today. We did Tarzan, 102 Dalmations and some others for you guys. We did the Commodore 64 collection, too. I agree with everyone else here in that the emulation was mediocre at best on the last package, and I know for a fact that our Technical Director has had his eye on this opportunity for nearly all of his life. We are considered the leading developer in emulation, and we know the rates and value to all of that, so we aren't unreasonable as much to be unapproachable. We can get a perfect version out, that would include the previous games probably, on time and on budget. We can work in the interviews, etc. A lot of these classic folks are our friends, and would probably give us a better rate than Activision if it goes through us. We have the tools, the emulation technology (Ready to go!), and more. Send me a private message through here if you are interested and I'll get you the proper contact information. We promise to do it justice, and we know what to do. We've done it several times before. Mike Mika Creative Director Digital Eclipse Software, Inc.
