Clean it more, one of mine does exactly what you describe. I have to clean,clean clean. Then it works fine for awhile. I don't know, I don't think that's possible. If the yellow key were inside its own castle, wouldn't the castle's drawbridge be open? Edit: Oops! I should've read ahead. My bad! I've encountered games where the black key was in the yellow castle and the yellow key was in the black castle. I figured it out by process of elimination and by searching every screen of the "invisible" maze with the magnet in tow. That was a bummer! Yeah, I figured. I was just being a smartass. PS. It was always infuriating. He'd come in almost every day and ask for stuff that hadn't been released yet, and then when it was finally released he bought it somewhere else to save two or three bucks. We wanted to kill him, but you have to be polite in retail. My brother (who also worked in the store) and I still make fun of this kid (who's probably 40 by now). We still laugh about how stupid he was. "Got any new Tari tapes?" You really need to post that story here; I'm sure they'd love it!

When I was a kid, 2600s and cartridges were far too valuable to be taken apart. They were expensive, and treated with enormous care that bordered on reverence even by kids who were usually quite careless with their other toys. Dismantling a system or a game... wow. I never even heard of a kid doing that! :!: You guys must've been incredibly brave!

Here is a cute little clip in which Mr. Rogers is taught to play Donkey Kong by a little boy named Brandon. Later, a man named Keith comes and opens up the front of the machine to show them the inside and the control panel. A very cool (and sweet) little clip.

When I was a kid, I and every other kid I knew called them "Atari tapes" even though they're not tapes. I'm not sure whey we called them that; possibly because they resembled 8-track tapes. Who knows! Did anyone else call them "Atari tapes" or just "tapes", or was that just me and the kids I knew? Now that I'm an adult, I call them cartridges... because that's what they are.

I wouldn't loan him my carts, but that's just me. Tell him to go to the library, get on a computer, visit eBay, and get his own damn carts!
