Atarisoft made Robotron for the TI-99/4a and it looks pretty good. If they can make it on the TI-99, why couldn't they do it on the CV? Same video chip, different CPU.

Wich type of game would you like to see on ColecoVision?
Vectorman replied to retroillucid's topic in CollectorVision
I voted for MSX conversions. There's tons of cool MSX games that were never released here so they might as well be originals for all we know, we never saw the MSX versions. This is the most practical route to quickly get completed games to CV fans, instead of starting from scratch over and over. After MAME I couldn't care less about new arcade conversions on the CV. -
I'm literally shaking!

My Colecovision is just showing colored fuzz
Vectorman replied to nester's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Congrats! You got one of the rare 'colored fuzz' editions of the CV. Hard to find, like a white Bally Astrocade. -
Holy crap! This is awesome. This and Scramble were my two favs back in the day. I had no idea this was ever announced. I came close to buying a Vanguard machine a few times over the years.

CollectorVision Phoenix Pre-Order is now live!
Vectorman replied to Bmack36's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
So there isn't any MSX compatibility like originally advertised? -
Can I get some CollectorVision corn cob holders? I want to show off at the next outdoor BBQ picnic.

It's hard to have sympathy for the stupid, lazy, impulsive buyers on ebay who overpay because they can't be bothered to do a 5 second google search which would reveal most of these items available for sale on AA or Collectorvision new for original prices. If they want to pay 4-5X the price for a cart, it's not the sellers fault. No one is forcing them to get into an insane bidding war over a game they could buy elsewhere for $30-40 new.

Great, an RGB adapter, so I can hook it up to a C64 monitor from 1983? I don't get it, why not just go with component video output?

What would be the ideal/perfect CV Controller?
Vectorman replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
-
That requires the SGM to play it. That's no more a CV port than a port for c64 or 32X. It's not running on the CV system at all really, more like running video through it. What about people who are interested in a CV port and have no interest in buying a SGM or SGM software?

Hear ye, hear ye! Are you sitting down? Brace yourself. Vectorman hates to break it to all his fans and devoted followers, but Vectorman will be putting all Colecovision projects on hold starting today. There's a Twilight Zone marathon on TV Vectorman needs to watch and um, Vectorman needs to wash and wax his car and clean the garage and stuff. Deal with it!

Project Prometheus (a new ColecoVision compatible console)
Vectorman replied to opcode's topic in Opcode Games
How about DB-9 controller compatibility with a numeric keypad on the console so we can use any Sega Genesis, C64 etc. controller instead of having to track down working CV controllers? -
What Colecovision homebrews do you have?
Vectorman replied to nanochess's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I wanted to buy a bunch of homebrews but I currently have no system. I'm not at all eager to go through the rounds of buying flaky units off ebay, trying to get a good working unit, then trying to get good working joysticks and then having the system fixed/modded for clear video output. It's just too much hassle for me personally. That's why I've been hoping that the CV replacement boards would've finally come out by now. That's what's holding me back. If I could get a new CV that's already f-18 capable, not some raspberry pi emulation board, I'd be a lot more willing to buy physical cart games. -
You don't need a keyboard to play CV games on the ADAM.
-
Yep. If you don't buy someone's special CV/ADAM power supply, how will they make money?

Have you seen the LaserDock? It's software is set up to respond to audio fed to it ala Atari Video Music/VLM. I wonder if with different software/driven by a Vectrex/vector arcade emulator it would become the color laser Vectrex we/I've wanted for decades. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoZ3Vk4pvwg

I don't get what is so hard about making a new board that uses the original chips. They are not hard to find or expensive.
