I never really understood this modern clamor for new arcade ports for the CV, even Pac Man Collection or DKA. People are just going to go, "yeah that's neat" then go right back to playing the game on MAME. No matter how hard you work on it, you're unlikely to top the actual arcade ROM on MAME, so what's the point. I'm much more interested in seeing original, exclusive games than ports of arcade games, no matter how accurate.

The SGM is like CV's own 32X, except nowhere near as good as the 32X. Soon I'm going to release my new Super SGM X for CV. There are zero games for it. It's the ultimate CV collectable.

Same here. Back in the day there was variety. Once the mid-90's rolled around, arcades were just all boring fighting and racing games with the occasional light gun game. Plus most racing/light gun games included timers you could never beat no matter how skilled you were in an effort to pressure you into pumping in quarters to 'continue?'. No thanks. Once in a blue moon something cool and unique would show up in a arcade, like Prop Cycle.

Why are you posting this here and not in the buy/sell forums where it belongs?

SAC aren't expensive or hard to obtain. Several years ago I bought NOS ones in the original shipping containers for cheap and there were plenty more to be had if I wanted. No one probably bothered creating ROM hacks for regular controllers because it was no problem just getting the SAC.

Which games would you like to see in 2015?
Vectorman replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
There's that cool 'Pinball Construction Set' game on the unreleased 'Best of Electronic Arts' game for ADAM, which also contained the unreleased 'Hard Hat Mack', which seems like would also be an excellent candidate for a cart release. I could never get my pinball layouts to save back in the day. Maybe there was a bug that prevented that, IDK. If that was fixed, it would make an awesome pinball game, especially if you could create and save your own layouts. -
Is there some site where this mod is described?

I'm confused. Why bother going through the work of modding the CV to output RGB and not component video, especially if you live in North America? Our TV's don't have SCART connectors. Since the CV video chip puts out component video signal already, isn't it easier to adapt that to TV levels?

How did they handle entering answers in Family Feud and Jeopardy on the NES and Genesis versions? -
Apparently the Intellivoice uses crude sample playback of actual recorded voices, not just voice synthesis chip technology like this.

WOW. Thanks for posting this. These have gotta be rare as fricken hens teeth. Never saw one in person or for sale anywhere. I remember staring at the ad for this in Family Computing. I wanted it soooo bad but it cost something like $300+ way back then.

Port 'The Castle' from the Sega SG-1000. port 'Family Feud' and 'Jeopardy' from the ADAM to CV cart, with updated questions* (on screen keyboard?) *they made programs for ADAM to edit the in-game questions. -

Which part? Sound - self explanatory. The character graphics of the ostriches/buzzards and their riders look similar to the arcade but noticably diffferent. I think they could be re-drawn to look pixel exact to the arcade. -

Arcade ports: Wizard of Wor Vanguard Red Baron QIX Armor Attack Kick (with trackball support!) Joust (with sound), graphics tweaked to be more arcade accurate. Ms. Gorf (unfinished proto) Mr. Do's Wild Ride/Do Run Run/Mr. Do's Castle/Mr. Do!/ Mr. Do's Nightmare multicart!!!! Journey non-arcade: Jumpman Dracula - make it look like the promo sheet, 3/4 perspective. There's 100's of MSX games that would be great to port over to CV - too many to list. -
Where did she get it for $26? The cheapest I've seen it was $30 on sale at Family Dollar, but that sale is over.

It seems sound chip voice 4(or 3?) is messed up in their emulation. Squish'Em Sam has no voice synthesis in it, just a staticy sound where the sound fx used to be. Omega Race used to use the noise channel to play the bass notes in it's music IIRC. It's gone.

Is there a reason the list is so incomplete and relegated to official releases from BITD only? Some of the games I play the most were unreleased protos(Moon Patrol, Joust, Video Hustler) or later homebrews/ports.
-
It's been years but I don't recall having to do this. The environment is not as large as it seems. It loops around to the same point if you travel left or right IIRC, so you're never too far away from where you need to go. GREAT, under-rated and greatly overlooked game. A real gem.

I just picked one of these CV FB's up tonight from Family Dollar, on sale for $30. I thought FD sold the version with the extra game. I was wrong. Still, this thing is awesome. Super impressed with the MSX ports and homebrews I've never seen (Mecha-8, Princess Quest - WOW!). The older CV games look/sound fine to me. Well worth the small investment IMO. Even moreso now that it's been proven to be hackable.

ColecoVision Flashback with alternate games :)

This is awesome! I knew it was possible. GREAT work man! -
I heard Atari used Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Thanks for posting here letting us know you posted an ad in the marketplace. Everyone should do that. Who needs forum categories I say. Heck, just post it for sale here. I can't be bothered to actually switch over to the marketplace forum to look at your sale items. Just post away, everyone else does and there's zero enforcement from the moderators, so GO FOR IT!
