Broken Atari that was promised on eBay
Atari2600Lives replied to atari_player's topic in Auction Central
another question: What was the seller's rating? (If the rating was high positive feedback , then it is more likely that it broke during shipping). A posting of the eBay listing might help. -
Just got baqck into the Stella scene, the latest release is absolutely awesome.

I missed the end of it but sent an email to the winning bidder

The sears Video arcade II (with original joysticks) is my favorite. It just seems to work besrt with my LCD flat panel displays.

Ok here is 1 of 18 (possibly only 17) Pepsi Invaders known to exsist. One of the better pieces of my collection.

Ok , the title of the thread is that you are seeking opinions. here is mine: The seller has 17,000+ feedback with a 99.5% rating. That by any standard is monstrously good (for him). Posting anything negative about the seller will do nothing to stop anyone else from buying. He did offer you a refund (granted not the shipping, and hey I am on your side ). My opinion is that you should not have given him a negative because he can now turn around and give you one. the affect on you might be much greater. overall, I would just eat the loss.

Spectravideo - Gas Hog - 1983 - RARE! (8/10)
Atari2600Lives replied to TFM's topic in Auction Central
I would make an offer here on the forums but you just joined the forum and have 9 post(please do not take that perosnally as I do not know you and it is not meant to be personal). Put it up on eBay and I'll buy it for $85 if you have high positive feedback. Also are you shipping from germany? That might also be an issue but i am interested. Here is an auction for one recently http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...W:IT&ih=001 -
The game is brutally hard even with the tip sheet. I am close to cracking it (going on 25 years now LOL!).

Why do major collectors here talk down the prices of games?

You bet I did. I do absolutely feel that even if I "over pay" for something I truly enjoy, then it is worth while. I also collect Muscle cars. That is a whole other world. I know some guys that hold out for 2 years to save $1000 on a $60,000 car. I will pay the extra $1000 and enjoy the heck out of it for those two years...so who is getting the better vlaue then? /shrug...who knows.... -

I do see many talking down carts for sure on this forum. I purchased a mint , sealed Motorodeo and I do not care if it came from venezuela etc. People are talking the cart down big time and I now it's rarer than an R5 Frogger II threedeep no matter what anyone tells me (Go on eBay now and you will find a frogger II guaranteed...anytime of day or night). I think in the end everyone should just lighten up and enjoy the hobby. I also paid $1200 for a Pepsi Invader recently and I paid $600 for a Lochjaw and I feel great about it. I love Atari, I love collecting, I love having "rare" stuff and these carts qualify on all levels. I did it because I enjoyed it not for any future investment. That being said, I do agree with the original poster about it happening, although I do not know the exact reason. -
Let's add 3 to the big time bidder list (me) Looks like you are only one of 9 current bidders...which means there are a few more unknowns out there. I'll probably be out anyway...over 2K just does not feel right....(even if I can spend it on that cart) and it's almost over 2K already with days still to go.

thanks. I am an idiot. -
I tried checking my settings and it did not work but has the forum admin changed "post in this settings"? it is horrible and driving me crazy to have to click on each post to read it , instead of quickly scrolling to see all posts in thread. is there a setting? did the forum change?
