Mine arrived today! Works perfectly on my model 1 too.
-
There is a mode button on the right, which is used to switch back to 3 button mode for a handful of games that are not compatible (Ms. Pac-man, Golden Axe 2 etc...) and some games use the mode button as an additional "action" button (Beyond Oasis, Fatal Fury 2, Etc...). Sounds like you are thinking of the Sega Saturn controller, which had 2 shoulder buttons used solely for game play.

I'm not familiar with Bundle Stars. Do they just sell Steam codes? Why buy through them and not directly from Steam?
Because they offer discounts on steam codes that are different than what you would get directly from steam. For example I bought Mortal Kombat xl for $8.99 Monday from bundle stars, yet the game is still full price on the steam store.

I also hate that any expression of dissent in this arena just leads to bashing.
But it's ok for you to come into the thread just to bash the topic at hand? How did you expect people to react? "Mitkraft doesn't like readin' about the weed, shut the thread down boys!"
To the topic at hand, I've always found vector games to the most visually stimulating "under the influence". So it's cool that "vectorgamer" started this thread.

Rival Schools takes their name from the 90's capcom 3d fighting game. Their first album is named "United By Fate", which is also the subtitle of the video game. Great stuff if you like heavier alt rock. Then there is a indie rock band called up up down down left right left right b a start who have an album called "Worst Band Name Ever"

Whoa dave! is a fun little Joust /Mario Bros. style game with cool old school style graphics. It tends to go on sale for super cheap, I got it for 3ds and steam for like a dollar each.

As for Sega, what about Zektor, Space Firebird, Space Fury or Eliminator? Space Fury got a Vectrex homebrew but I don't think the others did.
Space Fury was released for the colecovision.

What rumor are you trying to disprove? They buried video games in the desert 30+ years ago; some construction workers and a camera crew came by and dug them up. ET was found, along with a bunch of other popular/common games. There may well have been more beneath the caps, but the escavation effort prooved it was true.
Still don't want to believe it? Fine, join the conspirists who claimed the games were "planted" by the film crew, 911 was an "inside job", and that the moon landing was a "hoax" to help the US prove their superiority to the world...

Maybe you should actually watch the video before you scold someone because of it's content.

Unless it plays games I'm not impressed. Even this penguin can do that (also without costing $10,000 energon cubes)
http://www.povertygamenight.com/2011/03/power-games-penguinstation.html
Were you unimpressed with the original Megatron toy because it could not shoot real bullets? Also, that penguin is a solid piece that ya know, doesn't not transform into an articulated robot. Segatron's fusion cannon does seem to be some sort of usb drive so it may have some sort of functionality. Either way, IT'S A MEGA DRIVE THAT TRANSFORMS INTO MEGATRON FER CRYIN OUT LOUD! Who cares if it plays games or not?

The Lost Generation: CD-i, SuperGenesis32XPlusSaturnAddonMania, etc.

It's funny because it's true.

Acting like the Saturn is an add on for the Genesis most certainly isn't true.

especially since Nintendo not only has a perfectly good classic controller (which I have seen zero support for....
What in the world are you talking about, there are tons of games that support the classic controller and plenty that can use the GC controller as well. Maybe you would be less pissed off if you actually, ya know, looked up these things.

Ranger-X - this game (along with Subterrania) wins an award for worst control decisions, to me. You have a flying mech and a land rover down below. I find it needlessly complex figuring out when to join the 2 craft or use one vs the other. I just want to fly through the levels and shoot stuff. I seem to remember Gamefan raving about this game for some reason. Why?
Because it's an amazing game that you didn't take the time to learn the controls for. Granted there is a learning curve to the control scheme, but once you get use to the controls it's like second nature. I don't see what's "needlessly complex" in joining the two mechs when to do that, all you have to do is hop ontop of the bike and press down. Did you read the instructions/faq before playing? I'd say mess around on the first level (there is no time limit) to get use to controls before you finish the level. The second level is a more slower paced platformer level where the dual mech gameplay really starts to shine. Also are you using a 6 button pad or a 3 button? The game was basicly designed for the 6 button pad and makes things waaay easier to control.
Ranger x is one of the true gems for the Genesis and you'd be doing yourself a disservice to write it off as a bad game because you didn't understand the control scheme. However, The game play has alot more depth than just "fly through the levels and shoot stuff" so it might not be your cup of tea anyway.

You can get Game Sharks for around $10 if you frequent eBay. I'll have to check into the AR at Playasia for $30 though. Last I checked they were going for more than that, so I may have to snag one for myself.
I actually did a ebay search before I posted and only saw like 5 GS with the cheapest being $20. Didn't find to much of selection of GS in other places either, while new Action Replays are in abundance online for only a couple dollars extra and does everything the GS does and more.
-
An Action Replay is ideal if you want to do some more serious import gaming, but they are pricier (The GS is great just for backup purposes, and it's cheap).
Action Replays are not that much pricier than a Game Shark. You can get a brand new Action Replay for $30 from places like Amazon and Playasia. The Saturn Game Sharks I've seen for sale online cost about the same or a little less, but you would be better off in the long run with a Action Replay.

I liked goldeneye, and $20 for a semi custom controller isn't really bad. I may see about picking this one up.
A question, is this a "classic"controller, or is it a Cube controller? I figure the first, but as it's a different design, just wanted to check.
That's the classic controller pro, white and black versions came out a couple of months ago.

I am interested in this one but from the gameplay videos it looks like it might be confusing. I mean, there's a heck of a lot of the color grey running around in there, how easy is it to tell the good guys from the bad guys?
And to DaytonaUSA I agree with you about the lack of Soundwave love. My guess is he is considered a throwback as far as technology goes so unless they turn him into an iPod they've just decided to forget he ever existed. The closest reference to Soundwave was that little annoying boombox in the first movie. Not Soundwabve by any means, but about as close as any modern reference will ever get to him.
Yea man, it sucks they let him go. He was my favorite Transformer, ... which apparently was a bad one to pick because I haven't seen him since I was a kid. Shame they couldn't have put him in this game.
Still wanting to pick this up though. Did they make the "exclusive" characters DLC yet?
A few things guys:
1. Soundwave is a decepticon not an autobot. No offense, but that's like thinking Sonic the Hedgehog came out for SNES!

2. Soundwave IS in the game, hell he's even getting a new toy based on his game design!
3. He is also in the 2nd movie as a satellite type space ship thingy but I understand anyone not wanting to watch that film.
Also, pics from the set of the 3rd movie confirm he will return in that film hopefully in a larger role. He's been appearing a lot in last few years; A version of SW was in the "Cybertron" series, A diecast version in the "Titanium" series, His g1 toy has been reissued several times in both Japan and America and even had a toy that transforms into a working mp3 player released in japan! Not to mention pvcs, robot heroes, mighty muggs, t-shirts, etc...
Yeah Soundwave gets plenty of love, you guys just haven't been paying attention!

I hope this game becomes super rare so you get to play it before you find it.

Graphically, it really isn't that much different, amazingly.
The NES version did a great job reproducing the graphics to 8-bit but it's still not on the same level as the arcade version. Here is a side by side comparison:
NES:

Arcade:

Yeah, quite a bit of difference between the two.
The NES version seems to have better controls to me... a little smoother maybe>?Really? The NES version feels sluggish to me and has tons of flicker. It lacks that gratifying snap that the arcade has when you roundhouse kick a row of ninjas.
But hey to each their own. However, I find it a hard sell that the NES is version is better than the arcade version especially with the NES version missing the 2 player co-op, lack of digitized voices, inferior graphics, and flickering sprites.
-
I love bad dudes and not even in an ironic way, but i'd never played the arcade version. Turns out the NES version is as good or better.
How is it better? The NES version lacks the two player simultaneous mode and of course is graphically inferior.

Cool.
No Wait. Stop, you will make children want to smoke if you have cool lighters. Good think those aren't in the US. The nut jobs would be all over it.
Why would children care about lighters that look like 15-20 year old video game systems? Also, it's not like "cool" lighters are not available in America.

There's a difference between "knock-off" and "unlicensed." In the case of the transforming robot-toys, they are knock-offs in that they're clearly cheap imitations designed to cash in on the popularity of the Transformers franchise. They are not, however, unlicensed bootlegs, because their packaging does not contain the word "Transformers" or a Transformers logo, and the toys themselves have enough small differences in their designs that if the manufacturer were taken to court for copyright infringement, they'd at least have a chance of beating the case.
I suspect the same holds true for any smell-alike fragrances Walgreens may be selling.
No, I'm talking about toys that copy the exact same molding as the official toys with cheaper plastics and sometimes different color schemes and stickers. The "Pride parade ready Devastator" that S1500 is referring to is exactly what I am talking about. I have also seen combiner gift sets with Devastator in his original colors and other combiner teams for sale there as well. These ARE unlicensed bootlegs with no differences in their designs at all. I haven't seen any in stock lately but my point was Walgreens apparently hasn't had a problem with selling knock offs before.
-
Doesnt walgreens sell knockoff perfumes?
I know they have sold knock off Transformer toys (especially the Constructicons) for years. Walgreens selling unlicensed products is nothing new.
