I got an Atari shirt with the fuji logo with "Atari" written in Japanesse underneath at fye. I thought it was bit silly with Atari being an American company and the logo looking no different than the US one for the 2800 release, but it was such a cool design I couldn't say no!

I remember Chris Cornell wearing a road rash t-shirt at the MTV music video awards one year. -
MILLIPEDE! Easily my favorite version of the game, even like it better than the arcade version!

My point was that any criticism about the AVGN tends to be met with "Oh you don't get it, he's not being serious~!" when people are simply discussing the reasons they don't like him.

I think most people that don't dig him do get the idea behind it and that's what annoys them. It seems more often than not he will purposely not learn how to play a game or blow stuff out of proportion ( like the 5200 review) just to take the piss out of it and say a bunch of wacky cuss words. It's pretty shallow, obnoxious humor and alot of people love shallow, obnoxious humor. But alot of people don't. Just because someone doesn't like his videos, doesn't necessarily mean they don't "get it" or are jealous. They, like me, simply don't dig his sthick. And really, is it so hard not to understand why some retro gamers wouldn't like a drunk guy that cusses like a 8th grader at games and systems that aren't as a bad as he is making them to be?

Best games of all time (any system)
Blues_Bloody replied to Galactus's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Well said! Oh come on, it's not like the Atari was rife with sophisticated, adult oriented (and I don't mean Custer's revenge) games. -

I don't see anything wrong with a little friendly competition as long as everyone involved is in it for having fun, not just winning. -
Asciiware Fighter stick sg-6 problems
Blues_Bloody replied to Blues_Bloody's topic in Classic Console Discussion
There wasn't such a switch on it. I sent it back and got my money refunded. I ended up buying another Asciiware fighter stick and it works perfectly! Even saved a few bucks too. The funny thing was, when I got it I tested it out on SF2. The game started cycling through the menus and started the game without me even touching anything. I was worried I got another lemon untill my girlfriend pointed out the slow-mo was on. I'm guessing that the corrosion on the chip was the source of the problem on the orginal stick. Thanks for the help anyway! -
NES: The REAL Super Mario 2
Blues_Bloody replied to eyg2181's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
The fact that Nintendo, the company in charge of the cannon of the Mario series, called it SMB2 makes it a Mario game. It may not be an original Mario game but a Mario game none the less. I can understand the debate about SMB USA not being the real SMB2 but to argue that it isn't even part of the Mario bros. series is completely ridiculous! -
Asciiware Fighter stick sg-6 problems
Blues_Bloody replied to Blues_Bloody's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I opened it up and cleaned it and it still did not work. I noticed that there was some corrosion around the pins of a chip inside the joystick. I tried it with some 3 button games and discovered that the turbo and auto fire functions do not work , yet the goofy slow-mo function works fine. -
I received a Asciiware Fighter stick SG-6 6 button joystick for Sega genesis. However, games that are 6 button compatible only recognize it as a 3 button controller. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this? It was shipped with the cord wrapped around itself almost in a knot, I fear this might be the source of my problem.

As far as I'm concerned, SNES is what Genes-isn't, and that's the end of the story. Way to hijack a birthday thread with your negative opinions. No cake for you!

Both recent versions of MESS and MAME that I have seem to forget the directional controls from time to time. All other settings like the fire buttons and start/select buttons stay saved, just the directional keys have to be remapped.

Any Love for the sega master system?

Check out Great Baseball and/or Reggie Jackson Baseball. Two of my fav baseball games for any system. -
While 2600 frets ... ... and 5200 hesitates ... and Lynx calculates ... and Jaguar pontificates ...7800 just is The Tao of Atari.

...or because of the hardware limitations of the machine which is what is being discussed in this thread.

How is discussing what a system can and can not do bashing it??

You mean like Beyond Oaisis, Shining Force, After Burner, Space Harrier, Columns, Ecco the Dolphin, Eternal Champions, or any of the ton of Genesis games that don't fit your rather broad "side scroller" category. Also, here's a fact, Nintendo didn't invent the side scroller, so even if Sega did have a pile of them, it's hardly an attempt to out-Nintendo Nintendo. Side scrollers did well at the time, so Sega made some. Hard as it is to believe, Super Mario Bros wasn't the first side scroller. It wasn't even the first good one. It wasn't even in the same generation as the first good one. Not to mention that the Genesis' library of sports game was a main selling point back in the day.

It's a Contra game, complete with the same logo/title screen, it's a run-n-gun platformer. What else do you want? I forget the title of the original, but its actually a japanese sprite swap, not an original contra game. By that logic SMB 2 shouldn't count as part of the Mario series.

How is GH any less productive than playing any other video game? Guitar Hero is NOT a realistic guitar playing simulator nor has it ever claimed to be. Being good at GH does not mean you'll be able to play a real guitar well, nor does being a good guitarist mean you'll automatically be good at GH. It's basicly a puzzle game mixed with karaoke. It's one thing to not be into the game play but don't blast the game for being something it's not. Most people know that. You could say that for any game based on a real activity. Do you think that people should skip sports games and play real sports instead? Skip war games and join the army?
