Game looks cool! If you make some carts I would buy one.

Bob is awesome and his 7800 games rock! His games always felt like a gift to the community. He put a lot of effort into making them great and charged very little for all his hard work. I hope he continues to write games for some platform. iPhone, Android, etc. Of course the 7800 will still be here if he gets the urge to make a few more games.

I have Beef Drop VE on the 7800 and it I love it. I am sure the sound is better with the POKEY chip, but I don't see why everybody gets so worked up over those chips. I would rather just play Beef Drop VE without the POKEY sound and not have to wait on extra hardware, ordering special chips, or recycling other carts. This is an Atari 7800 afterall. If I want the true arcade experience I will play something else.

I think anyone that has a paid money has a right to voice their concern here as long as it doesn't turn into anything nasty. We should try to keep a few facts straight as you pointed out. I don't know how much money was taken in orders or the exact time I placed my order. Two years or a little less sounds about right for when I paid. And obviously he has spent a lot of that money at this point on plastic cases, nameplates, boxes, etc. so it isn't like he took a bunch of money and did nothing. Some progress was made and shown. It is the lack of updates, lack of games shown, other side projects, and it paints a picture of a general lack of concern if the thing ever gets completed by its creator. Keeping thing secret is perfectly fine if you haven't taken money in orders. Heck it can go on for years as a side project and I am cool with it, but once I have paid for something I should be in the loop on how it is going and when I should expect to get the actual product. Also show me an actual game demo. There should have been a working/tested prototype and some software that uses it created before taking orders and way before printing boxes and all that mess. That money is long gone now and you have a pile of plastic and cardboard and nothing that works.

I would like to buy a copy. Thanks!

I bought some 2600 stuff from the guy. It took about 6 months and we thought it was lost. The seller shipped me another package by air mail to make up for it. Then later I got the old one. So I paid him for both. It was a pretty messy deal. Not the seller's fault at all. It was all in the shipping.

No update probably means no work has happened. I don't expect things to change with the XM anytime soon. It is at least 6 months away. Maybe longer. I just check the 7800 forum to see if Bob is working on anymore awesome games. I paid for an XM, but for me the moment has passed. I could really care less if it ships at this point. I am tired of the whole thing. The only thing I want to play is Bentley Bear and I keep hoping Bob will figure out a way to make it work without the XM. This secret society of the XM and their mystery games is all played out. The 7800 community rallied around these guys for years now and as a thanks we are constantly kept in the dark and given excuses. With all the awesome stuff going on with the 2600, Intellivision, and Colecovision why waste time with the XM anymore?

Any way to find Cheap MSX Computers and Games?
UberArcade replied to segagamer99's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I would recommend the Yamaha MSX as well. It was a North American machine, it looks cool, they show up on eBay often. It won't play MSX2 games, but other than that I like it. -
Thunder Blade on the SMS is great! It is actually more fun than the arcade version.

Super Game Module a gamers perspective
UberArcade replied to the.golden.ax's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
The only reason I haven't bought more colecovision homebrew games is that there are just too many being produced at once. There are also many good homebrews coming out on other classic systems and there isn't enough money to go around. Releasing like 12 games a year collectively is pretty crazy in my opinion. If it was like four a year everybody would buy them. So when you have a large number of games coming out I have to pick a couple that look like the must buy ones and skip all the rest. I personally wish the game release schedule would slow way down. At this pace you guys are going to run out of games in a few years anyway. If money wasn't an issue I would buy them all of course! -
Frogger -- who actually made it?
UberArcade replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Back in the day a lot of arcade games were licensed to and manufactured by different companies than the ones that created the game. If Konami didn't have the ability to manufacture and distribute worldwide at that time it made sense to license it out to a company like Sega. -
What is with other people always defending sellers who refuse to deliver or who go MIA? Just because you bought something from the guy in the past doesn't mean the people who haven't received this game months after everybody else should not be concerned. If you read back a few pages you will also see many attempts have been made to find out the status of the game and to contact the guy. Let the seller get on here and speak for himself. We don't need other people chiming in saying you bet he is busy and to just wait it out a few more months. If you take money for a product you need to be a man and either deliver the goods or offer refunds. Plenty of time has passed. I guarentee in the course of three months he has driven by a post office at some point and had the opportunity to mail a few games.

I am guessing they are still being shipped out because I haven't gotten mine yet. Kind of weird to see it already for sale secondhand.
-
You should just design D4K with all new levels yourself. Then license it back out to other programmers and watch the money come pouring in.

I was thinking about getting the cart only version since the boxed ones are sold out. Will there be an opportunity to get a box for it later?
-
As the owner of a Tempest arcade machine I can't imagine it playing good with a trackball at all. It would be awesome if could work with a 2600 driving controller though. I know, not going to happen.

I do love some kung fu master. Looks way better than the original version. Can the hack be easily put on a cart?
-
I am interested, but will we be able to order later when the xm is out?

Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters

If it is in good shape then I would leave it as a dedicated game and find another cabinet for your mame setup. I don't think that game is super rare, but it is also not very common. The cabinet shape is also unique. It is getting hard to find any arcade games in nice shape these days because everybody wants to throw a 60 in1 board in there and sell it for a few bucks. Some of the many generic jamma cabinet are a better bet and not that hard to find. They usually have large control panels that can accomidate a mame setup well. The only time I have converted games is when I pick up a cabinet where the original is long gone. Art is messed up. Cabinet has been painted over, etc. If you convert a nice dedicated arcade game into a mame setup you will be on the shit list of many arcade collectors. If you lookup this particular game on KLOV you will see there are 11 people listed as currently looking for one. http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7716 Nothing wrong with a mame setup on xbox 1. I have that same setup. Works really well. I just put mine in a old Dragon Spirit cabinet that had been completely stripped of parts. -
So many... Japanese Space Invaders Millipede Gauntlet Most Universal games like Cosmic Alien I just picked up a Sega Alien Syndrome. While it is not really classic era it is an awesome cabinet.

Classic Arcade & Pinball Convention in Phoenix
UberArcade replied to toxicwes's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I live too far away to participate, but I am curious how this would work for the people bringing the machines. I brought 6 games to a friend's comic convention this year and it was a big deal moving them and costly renting a truck. So just wondering if you help pay for moving the machines or anything like that? I would really like to see something like this happen closer to where I live.
