You should do it as Jungle King and have the tarzan guy in there instead of Jungle Hunt with the safari guy. Great game either way.

I have an idea of how you can settle up with people that paid for carts. If you aren't going to make the games and don't have the money to refund people then just send me $50 worth of games from whatever game collection you have. At least I get something for my money that way.

This looks awesome! I need a copy of this when it is available. I was wondering what was coming next. Bob's games have been my favorite homebrews, and this year he has been cranking them out. The games are awesome! He doesn't over charge for a cart or require payments months in advance. Homebrew developer of the year!!!

I sent him PMs several times about Ature which is his other project on here. He never answers even though it shows he is active on the forums. I am just looking for an answer if he is going to finish the game or if I can officially write my payment off as a loss. Seems like a loss to me. At least man up and answer people. I understand delays happen. It is just a reminder that not everybody on these forums can follow through on projects. There are a few people here that know how to do a project right and have earned my respect enough to send payments in advance, but for everybody else I want to see a finished product before I send money.

I have learned not to pass on a game you really want if you find a good deal. You may not find another like it for a long time. Especially if it is an uncommon game in good shape. You can always find some kind of game to buy but you may never see another Gran Track 10. I am assuming it works. Space Invaders Deluxe is also awesome to have. Just don't fill up all your space with cheap crap games. Leave a few spaces for those rare ones that pop up so you can jump on a deal like that.and not have to figure out where to move your bad dudes or chase hq with the broken monitor. Once you start checking Craigslist or Ebay on a daily/weekly basis (it will happen) you will be suprised what kind of games show up. That is the fun of it. I keep the garage pretty clean so if nothing else I can store a game or two out there if I find a sweet deal. There is nothing worse than having to pass on a nice game because your space is taken up with crap games and projects that don't work.

I am not much for low balling either, but if a game has been listed for months then obviously nobody is willing to pay that price. Your average Craigslist seller of arcade games just wants them gone at this point. There is a nice Hard Drivin locally that has been listed over and over for at least half a year and only asking $300. The truth is the machines are just not worth much anymore. If I go to resell some of my machines I will run into the same thing. I sold a Ms Pac a few months ago. I had it listed for about a month at $400. I finally took $300. I had spent $500 rescuing the machine and getting it working again. So basically I am saying while Crystal Castles used to be a $400 game in this economy it is not anymore. Prices are subject to change.

Building MAME Arcade: First ==> Arcade Cabinet Help.
UberArcade replied to Blues76's topic in Arcade and Pinball
You can check out the Mame machine I built on my website. I got a Dragon Spirit cabinet that had been gutted for free. It is a great cabinet because it has a front door that opens to access the insides instead of a back door. I have a 19" VGA monitor mounted in and an X-Arcade interface board. I would probably do the ipac board if I was to do it over though. Personally I don't like huge monitors for Mame. Most classic games were designed to run on a 19" monitor and don't look authentic blown up. Pac Man for example doesn't look right to me really big. My two cents... -
Just find a friend with a truck and put the machine on its back in the bed. Throw a strap over it and bring it on home. It is also useful to own your own dolly. I have moved a lot of machines myself, but I don't recommend it. It helps to have another person to help. If you are going over stairs good luck. I have also had some games shipped. Only do that if it is something rare that you really want and there is a slim chance of finding one close by. You can't be there in person to verify the condition and shipping runs somewhere between $200-$300. There are lots of great machines for cheap right now. I had to stop looking at Craigslist because I don't have anymore room and it is killing me to pass up on some of these machines. Don't be afraid to haggle over the price and don't feel obligated to buy the thing if you don't like how it is in person. If that Crystal Castles has been on Craigslist a few months offer the guy $100. Those are the kind of deals you can get right now. My friend just picked up a CC locally for $100 that is mint. It has been listed for a few months for $300. There was a nice Missle Command and Pole Position I found the other day. Stuff is turning up on Craigs List more often than it used to.

Selling a copy of Halo 2600 on eBay. Ends tonight. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120817096050
-
While they do have to be imported the games show up often for sale on Ebay. So a buyer in the US can get them if you are willing to pay a little extra on shipping. I was going to buy a Dina one of these days so I can do just that. I would like to see an adapter for the games. I would rather have an adapter to run them on the Sega Master System, but an adapter for the Colecovision would be cool as well. I am not a big fan of SD based multicarts. I would rather have the real carts.

Lord of the Dungeon Release by CollectorVision
UberArcade replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I got my kit in the mail. I don't want to sound like a jerk because I dig all the colecovision games that are getting reproduced, but I am a little disappointed. The print quality on the manual is terrible. All the fonts are blurry. The kit also smells like cigarettes. I hope the game is fun. Just was expecting a little better for $60. -
Team Pixelboy News Bulletin - November 19th 2011
UberArcade replied to Pixelboy's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I will be ordering several. Ninja Princess is a great game. -
Got my copy yesterday. Fun game! There aren't enough games that use the paddle controls. Thanks for making it!

Is there still a planned release for Ature or will those orders be refunded as well?

The Sega Master System and the Atari 5200
UberArcade replied to carmel_andrews's topic in Atari 5200
As much as I like all of the classic consoles the 5200 wouldn't stand a chance competing with the SMS. I have a XE and a SMS. Sega had good conversions of modern arcade games to help sell the system. Atari had good conversions of old arcade games. -
I recently bought a a/v modded 7800 from Best. Maybe the 2600 mod is better, but the 7800 was junk. I returned it for a refund. The guy tried to tell me 7800's always look bad and I just don't remember it. I had a stock 7800 to compare it to and the picture was way better with my old rf one than the modded one. I hate it when people try to convince you something is not messed up. Based on my experience I would avoid buying the 2600. I have bought games from there with no problem though.

I am all over this like a rat on a cheeto!

I only bought one system at launch the Sega Saturn. It came with Virtua Fighter and that was the reason I bought it. I didn't buy an extra game. The SMS probably had the best pack in of any system I ever got. Hang On and Astro Warrior combo cart. I played the heck out of both. Since this is theoretical 2600 - Indy 500 Coleco - Cosmic Avenger 5200 - Galaxian NES - Kung Fu Genesis - Golden Axe SNES - F-Zero Saturn - Panzer Dragoon Playstation - Battle Arena Toshinden (I wanted it back then, now I think it sucks)

I am interested. I like breakout games.
