1. Anyone interested in a boxed ATARI XE Crystal Castles? This is one of the rare ATARI XE games.Works fine, NTSC and PAL compatible. Will sell it for the highest offer (I'll wait until 1/1/06). Shipping is 10 Euros for insured air mail from Germany.
2. I just have to add that it's possible to send up to 250-300 cartridges without boxes and instructions in one package. I will give away all the boxes, instructions and kids controller overlays away for free, when someone buys the cartridges only, you just have to pay for shipping.
3. A third thread to show pics of the hardware : I have about 60 of these Telegames paddles, a "clone" of the CX-30 : These paddles all have minor problems, usually "autofire" on one of the 2 paddles, that means in Super Breakout it will automatically activate the ball without you pressing the button. Almost no jittery paddles. I can sell them for 2 Euros each, 1,50 Euros each if you take them all. They should be easy to fix. Keyboard Controllers : Orignal boxed pairs of CX-50 Keyboard Controllers. I sell them for 4 Euros each, or 3 Euros when the box is damaged. I have many of them, great for a homebrew game that is controlled by Keyboard Controllers. Sears Video Arcade II Paddle/Joystick Combos : These units are paddles and joysticks. Not all paddle games will work with them, because they're single paddles instead of the "dual" ATARI paddles. I sell them for 1 Euro/each, because although they work fine as paddles, diagonal joystick movement is often a problem with these units. But they should be great for a paddle-controlled homebrew project. Payment is possible with paypal. Look in the other thread with my complete list for shipping informations.
4. I still have large qts. of these ATARI games, boxed and new. There are over 100 copies of each of these games available. I can sell them for 1 Euro each (ca. $1.20=1 Euro) Big Bird's Egg Catch (CCW, PAL, including Kids Controller overlays) Cookie Monster Munch (CCW, PAL, including Kids Controller overlays) Super Breakout (Picture label, PAL) RealSports Volleyball (Silver Label, NTSC) I also have many Telegames games, they use 4K or 8K EPROMs and it should be possible to erase and reprogram them : Kung Fu Superkicks (8K, PAL) 1 Euro each International Soccer/Astroblast/Baseball/Football (4K PAL) 1,50 Euro each The picture shows a Kung Fu Superkicks 8K board to the left and an International Soccer 4K board to the right. These cartridges are easy to open (2 screws on the front side) and new labels are easy to make. Telegames created many games this way, also some of the SALU remakes of Activision games use these cartridge shells. Another one : Ghostbusters 2 This seems to be a 16K board. This version of Ghostbusters 2, a game that was never released as NTSC game, seems to have a minor glitch, the title-song is not played correct. I have only 4 or 5 of this game left. I also have large qts. of a red label PAL RealSports Football and a 1986er version of "Cookie Monster Munch". Those carts are different, I'm not sure if you can use them for homebrew projects. ATARI XL carts : I have about 100 copies of "One on One", boxed, new, NTSC for XL on cart. I can sell them for 2 Euro each. Also many copies of Ballblazer XL left : These XE game cartridges can be modified to create new ATARI XL/XE cartridge games. ----------------------------------- Payment is possible with paypal. Games without boxes/instructions ca. 60/70g, the Telegames carts weigh more than ATARI carts because of the heavy EPROMs.
5. I'm giving up business and have to sell all the ATARI 2600/XL and ATARISOFT games I have. Most of the ATARI 2600 games are PAL, but all the 800 XL/XE games are NTSC. Payment is possible with PAYPAL. Shipping depends on weight, not on size. Games weigh about 120g each, 1Kg = 1000g, but please ask, some games weigh more, some less than average. 6. Another idea : If we manage to create a few ATARI 800 XL/XE minigames, we could make a limited multicart with the games, let's say 50 carts with all the ATARI 800 XL/XE minigames. 32K should be enough for some 1K games and a few 4K games. We should also use techniques like Player/Missile overlays for 4K games to show the advantages of the ATARI 800 XL/XE. IMO people seem to prefer action/arcade games, so action/arcade games should be programmed. Platform games, action-adventures and mini-roleplaying games are also possible winners. Further, "stealing" ideas from other games is no crime. Someone could "remake" and improve some of the existing minigames such as Splatform for the 800. Thimo
7. It sure hurts, when your work is heavily criticized. Especially when you didn't expect it. But IMO that's what taking part in a compo is very useful for. Unlike in a positively biased community like here on AA, there you get mostly honest and therefore really valuable feedback. So please, don't feel discouraged! Carefully read the comments (not only regarding your own game), try to fix your games weak points and learn from other peoples strengths (and failures!). Almost all comments are pretty constructive, even though your game scored weak. So there is definetely some space for improvement, else people wouldn't have cared. And if you should decide for making something completely new, then taking part in this year's compo should help you a lot too. CU @2006! 976801 Sorry, guys. That was my last try in MiniGame Compo. F. 976827 I think your game was pretty good (and your game in 2004, too). It's difficult to win against the Sinclair and Commodore games. In the beginning, the competition was almost C64/Vc20 and Sinclair - only. IMO we need a lot, that means more than 5 good XL games to win. We must show the Commodore and Sinclair coders that the ATARI 800 XL is a good system, capable of high quality minigames. I must say again - look what the ATARI 2600 community managed to do. Almost nonexistant in the first years of the compo, we had A LOT of 2600 games in 2004 and 2005. And Minigames for the ATARI 800 are nothing new. I have a few type-in listings from 1988/89 , an 1K Pacman, some 1K action games. Good games can be made. But we need at least 3 or 4 programmers with one or two games each. Thimo
8. The 2 XL games in the 1K compo made place 9 (Superfly 1K) and 22 (Bombex). Too bad I missed the deadline for the 2005 minigame compo, I did not have time to finish my project, but I will finish it for the 2006 compo. For 2006, we should try to have an ATARI XL/XE winner in the 1K or 4K compo, if they don't change anything. There are many good XL programmers here and look at the ATARI 2600 games in the 2004 and 2005 compos - 1K winner last year, 2nd in 2005, 3rd place for a 2600 4K game this year.ATARI can win. It's not always Commodore and Sinclair. Anyone interested in writing some ATARI 800 XL/XE games for the 2006 minigame compo ? We need more than 2 games, look at the number of ATARI 2600 games this year. We should make this a real "project" , winning the minigame compo in 2006 with an ATARI 800 XL/XE game for the first time. Thimo
9. Hello, it'd be great if someone could pick up the games here or order as many games as possible for one large package. Up to 150 games will fit into one package, shipping is 62 Euros. Thimo
10. The left board is an 8K one, Kung Fu Superkicks. The right one is a 4K board , International Soccer, both by Telegames. I'm not sure if bigger Telegames cartridges exist, since the biggest ones I have are 8K. Thimo
11. Hello, I still have a lot of boxed/new ATARI 2600 and 800 XL/XE games : 1 Euro each : Big Bird's Egg Catch PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/bigbird.jpg ) Cookie Monster Munch PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/cookie.jpg ) Super Breakout PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/superb.jpg ) Pick 'n' Pile PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/pickpile.jpg ) RealSports Volleyball NTSC ( www.atari2600.de/c/rsvolley.jpg ) RealSports Tennis NTSC ( www.atari2600.de/c/rstennis.jpg ) Kung Fu Superkicks PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/superkic.jpg ) Mat Mania 7800 PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/mat.jpg ) 1.50 Euro each : Galaxian NTSC ( www.atari2600.de/c/galaxian.jpg ) Jungle Hunt NTSC ( www.atari2600.de/c/jungle.jpg ) Chess PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/chess.jpg ) Astroblast PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/astroblast.jpg ) Bogey Blaster PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/bogey.jpg ) International Soccer PAL ( www.atari2600.de/c/intsocc.jpg ) RealSports Football NTSC ( www.atari2600.de/c/rsfootvc.jpg ) RealSports Tennis PAL red box ( www.atari2600.de/c/rstennisp.jpg ) 2.00 Euro each One on One ATARI XL/XE cartridge ( www.atari2600.de/c/oneonone.jpg ) Ballblazer ATARI XL/XE cartridge ( www.atari2600.de/c/ballblaz.jpg ) Hardware : Sears Paddle/Joystick Combo (www.vectrex.de/sears.jpg ) 4 Euro : CX-50 Keyboard Controllers ( www.atari2600.de/a/keyctrl.jpg ) My email - address is webmaster@klassische-videospiele.de I prefer selling large qts. of games, this is because shipping is expensive (overseas), min. shipping for up to 5Kg, ca. 30-40 games is ca. 32 Euros. 1 Euro = ca. $1.18 Thimo
12. Hello, I still have many boxed/new copies of these ATARI games : Big Bird's Egg Catch, Cookie Monster Munch, RealSports Volleyball,Super Breakout I can sell them for 1 Euro each, boxed+new, perfect new carts for homebrew projects. I also have Telegames cartridges for 1 Euro/each : Kung Fu Superkicks and a few 4K games. These games use 8K or 4K EPROMs and the PCBs can be used for homebrews : I'm also selling Sears Arcade II Paddles, Telegames Paddles (Cx-30 clones) and CX.50 Keyboard controllers, new. Interesting for those who want to program Paddle or Keyboard Controller games and bundle the carts with the controllers. My email-address : webmaster@klassische-videospiele.de Thimo P.S. : 1 Euro is ca. $1.18. Discounts are possible, if payment isn't done with paypal or checks because of the fees. Please note that it doesn't make sense to ship less than 20 or 30 cartridges, because shipping costs are pretty high (I'm in Germany).
13. I got a note from German customs today, seems that they have the package and they are responsible for the delay. Thimo
14. I bought a lot of 126 ATARI 2600 games from the seller "ticker.picker" , Darrel Lakins in Canada in May, paid with paypal, but did not receive anything yet. He doesn't respond to my emails, but it last activity was giving some feedback to other buyers on June 2nd.No auctions since May. I did already contact ebay, because I think he did not send the package at all. Does anybody know this ebay Seller ? I mean overseas packages can take some time, but it's over 6 weeks now and because the seller does not react, I fear the worst. Thimo
15. There was no game designed to use the trackball in its "native" (variable speed and direction) mode, therefore no game requires it. Fortunately, the designers were wise to include a joystick emulation mode, in which it can technically be used with any joystick game. However, since it's difficult or impossible to keep a trackball constantly spinning in one direction, the trackball in joystick mode works best with arcade conversions from those machines which originally used trackballs, and a few other titles with similar control requirements. The CX-78 is a 7800 controller. Only one button will work when used with a 2600. 882813 ATARI sold the CX-78 with the ATARI 2600 Junior in Europe, the Junior systems came with 2 CX-78 units and usually the "32 in 1" here.It was sold with the 7800 system, too. They are very common in Europe, there must be still thousands of them in some warehouses, because they sold them like crazy in the late 90s (complete Junior systems + 2 CX-78 for 5 DM, that's about $2,50 ). I usually don't use a CX-78 with the 2600 and use a CX-24 or compatible for the 7800 (which support both buttons, too). Does anyone know if the ATARI 2600 (technically) can access the second button? LC
16. Everybody has to have a joystick, of course. I think that paddles are standard, too, because there are a lot of paddle games. But what about the other controllers ? Video Touch Pad/Keyboard Controller ? Kids Controller ? Driving Controller ? Trackball ? Lightgun ? CX-78 Joypad ? Are these controllers a "must-have" for all ATARI 2600 gamers or not very important at all ? LC
17. They have released the Flashback , will release the Flashback 2.0 and other companies have released various joysticks based on arcade machines, 8 Bit computers or video game consoles. Is there any chance of an ATARI 5200/800 joystick ? These systems weren't as commercially successful as others, BUT there are some great games on the 5200/ATARI 800. The ATARI 800 has the best version of M.U.L.E. , this game would be reason enough for buying such a system (when multiplayer is possible). The ATARI 800 has the best versions of the 4 Lucasfilm classics, Ballblazer, Rescue on Fractalus, The Eidolon and Koronis Rift. I think the ATARI 800 "Boulder Dash" is the best version, the Commodore 64 version is too slow, the Z80 versions are awful, the DOS version is not very good, too and even the ATARI ST version sucks. There are many more great games like 7 Cities of Gold, Archon, Montezuma's Revenge, Mr.Robot on the ATARI 800 + the great ATARI 5200 games. Some games may not work without storage RAM, Alternate Reality for example, but I think people won't play role-playing games on such a system. The 5200 was never released in Europe, so 5200 games in a "5200 Flashback" should sell in PAL countries, especially because the ATARI 800 XL was quite successful in Eastern Europe. And it would be possible to add ATARI 800 games programmed in Poland which were never released in the USA. And they may even fix the PAL-NTSC problems, so that games using "artifacting" would be colorful, not monochrome on PAL TVs. I think there is an ATARI 800 market, ATARI 800 games usually sell for more on ebay than the average ATARI 2600 game and in Germany, ATARI 800 XL/XE hardware does sell for more than 2600 units or Commodore 64 systems. LC
18. This is not in the guide, AFAIK. It's Super Challenge Baseball by Telegames in a different box, but with the Super Challenge Baseball instructions. I'm not sure if Telegames ever sold it outside of Europe, although I had some NTSC copies and sold them in the US. Another game that I did not find in the guide is the Telegames version of "Armor Ambush". I never found an NTSC version of that game, so it may exist only as PAL. Both games are not uncommon in Europe, Telegames UK still sells these games AFAIK. LC
19. Hello, I have about 200 boxes and instructions of these games, because I used the cartridges for a hombrew project. Before I throw them away, someone can have them for free : There are : About 50 boxes of Cookie Monster Munch with Kids Controller overlays About 40 boxes of Big Bird's Egg Catch, about 50% with overlays 20 boxes of Super Breakout 20 boxes for RS Volleyball 20 boxes of RS Tennis (silver) 10 boxes of RS Football (silver) 40 boxes of Kung Fu Superkicks (Telegames) 10 boxes of Astroblast (Telegames) 10 boxes of International Soccer (Telegames) 10 boxes of Super Challenge Football (telegames) 10 boxes of World Championship Baseball (Telegames) The instructions usually are English, in some cases multi, that means English, French, German, Spanish. These were new games, some or still partially shrinkwrapped. I can give them away for free, if you pay for shipping etc. It's possible to send all the boxesinstructions in one single box. Thimo
20. Didn't they just sell a similar lot? They must of found some sealed boxes somewhere. 858278 I'd not pay that much money for the games, because there still are hundreds of these games.I know for sure that ATARI Netherlands had thousands of Ms Pacman, Centipede and a few other games in the 90s. They were sold for low prices all over Europe. And I'm not sure if all the games are really cartridges. There are also disk versions and I have only the disk version of Gremlins. Myself, I found lots of copies of ATARISOFT games in the recent years, especially for C64, Apple II and IBM PC.ATARI probably made thousands of them. And the seller may have bought a warehouse full of the games.ATARI usually packaged the games in 6-packs, 6 ATARISOFT games in one box. So I think they have at least 6 copies of each game.
21. I offered the NTSC versions of these PAL games a while back, but the big problem I have is that shipping from Germany is extremly slow and expensive. Nobody wants to wait 8 weeks for a game, but it seems to take that long today and in some cases, items never arrive or are returned to me. Because NTSC versions are an offer for North Americans (Europeans can play the PAL versions) this is my big problem. The shipping is exactly 7 Euros for 1 game. That's about $9 today for the slow surface mail. It's 8 Euros for air mail ($10) and 10.05 Euros with insurance which is necessary ($13). For $13, shipping one single game isn't interesting anymore. So to offer these games, I'd need someone in the US who could ship them to the buyers.Shipping one single package is not so expensive and I think shipping in the US isn't that painfully slow and unreliable as these overseas packages. There are the following games : Acid Drop (Salu) My Golf (HES) Ghostbusters 2 (Activision) and from BitCorp Dancing Plates (Tanzende Teller) Phantom Tank (Phantom Panzer) Open Sesame (Sesam oeffne dich) Space Tunnel (Weltraum Tunnel) Mission 3000 (Mission 3000) Snail against Squirrel (Schnecke gegen Eichhoernchen) Sea Monster (See Monster) Bobby is going home (Bobby geht heim) The first 3 games are SALU carts, the NTSC versions are on new ATARIAGE boards in new ATARI cartridge cases. That means there are 2 cartridges, the new NTSC one and the original PAL cart. These games were not officially released as NTSC. The BitCorp carts are based on 4K EPROMs that can be modified.I can modify existing carts or use other 4K games to put the NTSC versions on them. AFAIK all these games exist as NTSC versions by Puzzy Bit, but were only available in Canada and original NTSC versions are pretty rare. Maybe someone is interested in distributing the games in the US.As long as there is no better way of shipping and the Euro is so much more than the Dollar, overseas shipping is just uninteresting. There are no large quantities of the games, maybe 15 Acid Drops, maybe 10 Ghostbusters 2 , maybe 50 My Golf copies and about 20-30 copies of the BitCorp games. It could be interesting to offer them on an ATARI show, but I have no opportunity to travel to the US now. BTW. I was not able to create decent labels, so I use white labels like SALU did. Thimo If anyone interested in empty boxes of Cookie Monster Munch and Big Bird's Egg Catch, including instructions and Kids Controller overlays, you can have them for free if you pay shipping.I used these carts for making the 16K games.
22. I still have the games, but the expensive overseas shipping makes the games too expensive for most buyers. Especially now, because 1 Euro is about $1,30.This is bad for selling stuff from Europe to the US.I mean a few years ago, $1 was more than 1 Euro. And if you don't ship with air mail, you can wait 6-8 weeks for an item. That's the problem. Thimo
23. I had Gremlins, Centipede and Ms Pacman for the C64 and offered them for 5 Euros each, all new.Gremlins is on disk, the other 2 are on carts. The games aren't that rare and on ebay they will sell between 5 and 10 Euros. Same for the IBM PC versions, I have 8 different of them. They usually sell for 5 Euros. Thimo
24. Is there any difference between these ATARI Paddles : and these paddles : The first is "made in Taiwan", the other one made in Hong Kong The Hong Kong paddles look slightly different and seem to weigh less.I wonder if they were part of some compilation. Technically, both sets of paddles are identical. Thimo
25. Not mine : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8189433806&rd=1 Won't ship to Europe, so I cannot bid for it.
