  1. If your program doesn't need to call back into OS or DOS and is taking over the machine, then you can use almost all memory. Absolute minimum for 800 with interrupts enabled is VIMIRQ, VVBLKI, and VDSLST; on an XL/XE machine you can use all memory if you swap out the OS and take over the processor IRQ and VBI routines directly. If you're that tight on memory, you're probably just as tight on cycles, and why waste cycles on the generic OS routines?

Are there RAM locations lost behind the locations hard-wired to POKEY and friends? Or are all of those mapped outside the actual 48K of RAM chips ?

  2. I've lost the SD card that came in my Harmony, and am putting it together to give to a game developer friend, apart from the BIOS software in the sticky post at the top of the forum, is there a list of the demo software and menu/loader that come with the cart, or can I download an image file (or .zip if it's just a FAT memory card with the files) of the cart?

    Thanks,

  3. Hello!

I recently purchased a "Heavy Sixer" (front panel with rounded corners) from a local game shop to use with my new Harmony cartridge.

The switches are in very poor shape (need to be jiggled repeatedly to change), and when I ran the video out to my TVs Antenna port, the video is coming through with very poor quality.

(The TV is a Toshiba Regza flat panel set to "Terrestrial" input, connected via an RCA F<->F adapter and an RCA-M<->F-M adapter)

I found this post on DigitPress recommending TV tuner cleaner, and may go ahead with that, any feedback?

It looks like 8-bit Domain's solderless video out mods are all sold out (and having not cracked the case yet, I'm not sure if my TIA is even socketed). Are there any other sources for a similar product?

By the way, the Harmony cartridge is *FANTASTIC* :D Everyone reading this should get one. :lust:
