Good god...

Where can you buy one of the STe IDE interfaces at?
-
Yep, sure is. JayMSA can write back (or create) .ST and .MSA files back to disk on the Atari computers. I haven't personally used it yet, but it looks easy and straight forward.
-
USB floppy drives are fine if you want to just copy some files to a floppy drive to read on your ST. BUT if you want to write a ST or MSA image back using something like FloImg that I mentioned before, it will NOT work with a USB floppy. Has to be connected to a real floppy controller.

I've been using FloImg: http://ppera.07x.net/atari/floimgd.php I am unsure if it works with Win 7 64bit, but I have a spare machine running 32bit XP that it runs great on. I have imaged over bunches of .MSA and .ST files to floppies and they work great.

Recently picked up a 1040STf and SC1224 monitor and been using it off and on since saturday. Was using the machine earlier today and went to power it back on tonight and appears the monitor died. When I turn it on, it makes the normal sound you hear when you switch on a CRT monitor but nothing displays on the screen and the power light doesn't light up. Any ideas on a fix for this?

Just connected to Darkforce a couple minute ago. -
Thanks everyone for you reply's! Thought of some more questions: 1.VBXE - My understanding is that it outputs RGB video. Does it pass through ALL Atari video or only video for VBXE specific software? 2. Is the VBXE a standard 15kHz RGB? Most likely going to use it with something like a Commodore 1084 or Sony PVM monitor. Probably the Sony.

Been looking over eBay and the prices folks for some of this stuff is crazy. Would like a nice condition 800XL or 130XE. Doesn't have to have the box, though that would be a nice extra. Undecided on NTSC or PAL. PAL would be nice for all the euro games and demo's. Thanks!

I am looking to jump into the Atari 8bit computer waters and had a couple questions. Looking at the machines, its seems for the money that the 800XL is probably the most reasonably priced unit. I would like to have a 130XE, but with the prices they sell for on eBay...I don't think thats going to happen. So anything specific to the 800XL I should be aware of? Converting NTSC machine to PAL - easy? or should I buy a seperate PAL machine? Going to most likely use it with a SONY PVM monitor that can handle both NTSC and PAL. Ram upgrades? Stock video circuit upgrade? Does the 800XL output both composite video and separate Y/C (s video)? Any other upgrades/additions worth considering? I was thinking of getting the mega-hz stereo mod board and possibly a VBXE down the road. Probably a couple disk drives and perhaps a SIO2SD (or something similar). I am fairly new to the A8 scene. I once had a 130XE several years ago, but I sold it as all I had was just the computer and power supply. I have regretted it ever since. Like I mentioned earlier I like the physical appearance of the 130XE the best, but the market price for them seems kinda silly.

bump! Still looking for a 1040 ST.

Hiya folks! I am looking to purchase an Atari ST. Would like a 1040STF model. If anyone in the greater Cincinnati, OH has one for sell, that would be fantastic. But I have no problem paying for shipping as well. Thanks!

I posted this same system in the Marketplace awhile back with no interest generated in it. Just thought I would let everyone know I have listed it on eBay. Check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2081667665 Thanks!

Hello, I have an NTSC US Falcon for sale. It has the standard 030 cpu and a 200 Meg Seagate HD (I think actually it is a 212 meg) and 14 megs of Ram. Includes the following: Atari Falcon 030 computer Best Electronics Truemouse (much nicer than the original Atari Mouse) VGA adapter (use the Falcon on a standard vga monitor) ST Video adapter (or use it on a ST rgb monitor) The original 4 meg ram board (The 14 meg ram board is installed. This is just an extra left over) Atari Falcon owners manual (along with some other various manuals) Software included will be just what is installed on the hard disk Machine is in fine condition with just a few little nicks here and there and is in light brownish color. I bought the machine several months ago off of someone and I just can not get into the Atari way of computing. I was always into the Amiga myself. To the best of my knowledge everything on the machine works excellent with the exception of the floppy drive. It reads disks fine, but after a reboot it doesn't always want to write or format a floppy disk correctly. I am sure this was not an issue before I installed the 14 meg card. I might have just bumped the cable and caused this. Hell, this might be the way most all Falcon are. But be advised that this is an issue. I am not sure what the asking price these days is, but I would like to have $375 shipped in North America. If interested, drop me a line on it. Thanks! Todd

So I thought I would try and see if the peeps at AtariAge would be interested. I am asking $400 plus shipping in the US. Any questions, just shoot me an email. Thanks! Todd

Hello Everyone! I am a new Atari User and although I have a ton of questions about various items, the one that bothers me the most is in regards to file name lengths. I am mostly use to the Amiga and it's ability to handle long filenames and I am curious what I can do on my Falcon to be able to display these long file names? I have a bog standard 4 meg Falcon with TOS 4.04. Would this require software upgrades or a different OS? I would like to be able to view some of the module music I have on disc's from my pc, but seems I am stuck with 8.3 filenames. Any affordable way to deal with this? Also, one other question. How worthwhile is a FPU on a Falcon? Does much software take advantage of it? Thanks! Todd

Well, i don't see it there.. any way to get it back?

I tried to locate the application xcontrol.acc, which according to the manual is the control panel and I can not locate it. I did a search for it with no luck. So, the OS is not contained on the Hard drive at all?

Hello all! I am new user to this message board and Atari Computers in general. Got a couple questions for you all. 1. Recently I picked a second hand Falcon 030 and I am curious about the audio output quality on it. Seems to have a type of hiss or noise on the headphone output. I have read that there is a headphone amp gain and a light bass boost that is builtin to the audio out. Is this what causes this noise? I read that the Cubase manual talked about fixing this. Would this solve the noise output and give a mostly clear noise free output? 2. Can anyone point me to some good resources on the Falcon and TOS? Can i download a newer version of the OS? I would like to cleanly reinstall on my Falcon, but I didn't receive any software disks with it. Thanks for any help!! Todd
