  1. Hiya folks. I have up for sale a really nice PAL Atari 800XL machine with some nice addons. I do NOT want to break the package up. The Ultimate 1mb and stereo pokey (with pokey chip) have NOT been installed yet. I was going to do this, but decide not too. So you will need to have some technical ability and soldering/desoldering skills to install these as the MMU and OS roms are not socketed. I will include a 2gb Compact flash card with the SIDE 2 cartridge. I am also including a Composite/Svideo and dual mono audio video cable and a custom 5volt power supply. Everything you need to get started. Keep in mind this is a PAL unit that I imported from Europe. You will need a display that is PAL capable. All the best software is PAL anyways. Pics: The 800XL has some light yellowing to the case and small scratches/nicks. Otherwise very nice condition. The internal RF shield has been removed in preperation for installing the U1mb and Stereo Pokey. Also this model already has working Svideo output. Asking price: $230 shipped anywhere in the USA. I accept Paypal.
  2. I ordered a Side 2, Ultimate 1mb, Stereo Pokey board and HxC Slim Floppy emulator on March 6th. Received them about 2 weeks later. Lotharek should be able to provide you with a tracking number of some sort.
  3. Hmmm...will do! Even though the Falcon will arrive midweek, I won't have a chance to check it out till Sunday evening or monday morning.
  4. I was thinking most of the games and demos were PAL stuff.
  5. Is there a way to force the Falcon to always boot into 50Hz? Any key apps that I should check out? Looks like I should have the Falcon in a couple days. Anyone have a nice condition, spare desktop case they want to sell?
  6. Do the adapted ST games require an ST RGB monitor attached to the Falcon, or will a VGA monitor do? I am guessing I will still need an ST low capable monitor for those. Damnit Atari, why didn't you design the VGA out on the Falcon to act as a scan doubler for ST stuff.
  7. I am receiving a Falcon here soon and I have some questions. I briefly owned a falcon maybe 10 or 12 years ago, however I was new to it and didn't really get the Atari way of doing things. So I sold it shortly after. Since then I have gained quite a bit of ST experience, so I feel more comfortable with revisiting it. On to my questions: 1. What's the best overall monitor solution for the Falcon? Do I really need both a VGA monitor for Falcon specific stuff and a separate ST monitor for ST low stuff? 2. Speaking of ST stuff, is there much Falcon patched ST games and demo's available for the Falcon? 3. Where can I buy a new or used replacement case and US or UK keyboard for the Falcon? The one I am receiving had its case painted as it was yellowed. I already checked Best and B&C's website and didn't see anything. I would rather keep the desktop case rather than a rack or tower conversion. 4. As a Falcon noob, anything else I should know/consider before making the plunge? Thanks! todd
  8. Most likely that would work fine. I would then mount it above the midi ports and cuts slits just above them so you can access the SD card slots.
  9. Sorry about not getting back to this thread. Yep, wired the original switch to ground and pin 14 (green) of the atx connector to use the ATX power on feature.
  10. Just thought of something. Do you have the cable plugged into the Jag the correct way? It should be plugged in so the gray piece that hangs over the edge of the connector is on the TOP side and not bottom.
  11. I am hoping to hear feedback from a couple other folks on my Scart cables.
  12. Shipped out a bunch of cables and sent emails to the buyers with tracking details. I still have to build and ship: 1 Scart cable for evilevoix (late order) 1 Svideo cable for Kirkman (late order) 10 Svideo cables for Songbird I hope to have the parts in and the rest of these cables shipped in the next 2 weeks time period. I might also have a couple spare Svideo cables for sell then as well.
  13. Update: Another batch of cables go out tomorrow (saturday) including Scart cable orders.
  14. I hope to have all the Scart cable orders out in the next couple days. Sorry 'bout the delay.
  15. Just to let everyone know, I am getting ready to ship out some existing orders and my backlog is down to 3 or 4 weeks. Todd
  16. Hey guys Sorry about the missed deadline. I ended up taking far more order than I thought I would. Anyways, most of the cable shipped today! and should be in your hands early next week. Here's what shipped: I shipped all S-video only cable orders today. Later this weekend I will ship any Scart RGB cable only orders. In about two weeks or so I will send those who ordered both a Scart and S-video cables (which there was two of these orders). Also, I have a large S-video cable order from Songbird that will ship in about two or three weeks. Thanks for your patience on this. Also, once I ship the last of the cables, I will post up details on how these cables are built so anyone else wanting to make themselves one of these in the future will have a guideline. Open Source of sorts. Some pics of what the finished cables look like: RGB Scart: Svideo/Stereo/Composite:
  17. Update: Just wanted to let everyone know parts have been ordered and waiting on them to arrive. I had a few stragglers that I was waiting on before I ordered everything I needed. Will keep thread updated as stuff arrives.
