  1. As nice as it is, it doesn't quite hold up to the original. ;)

So, I'm going to dig my A/V modded 2600s out of storage.

Stupid question alert: Will the controllers from the Flashback 2 work on a regular 2600?

I'm out of date here but I was thrilled to find the Flashback 2. I've been sick for a few days and no better distraction than Atari!

  2. Hello,

I am interested in finding out opinions on both games, Civilization IV and Civilization V. I am looking to buy either but I am not sure what would fit me best.

I *loved* Civilization III and I am worried that the newer games will lack the panache that this game had. I have not played it for months and I kind of miss wasting hours and hours on it.

I also have a question regarding installation: Could I install the game onto an external hard drive (I have a 1TB drive) and run it from that instead of my computer (which has only a 20GB HD)?

Let me know if you can help. I haven't been around here in a while and all but I trust the opinion of fellow Atariagers when it comes to games.

I love both games. Right now I'd give the nod to Civ 5, but there's a demo out for it. Try it out and if you don't like it you can get the complete Civ 4 Gold Pack with the game and both expansions for under $20.

Where can the demo be found?

Also, I already asked but could I install the game on an external HDD and run it from that? The external HDD is a 1TB drive.

  4. Thanks for jogging my memory, Nukey. I swear I saw that picture before of the Mr.T head in a game. I'd love to play a real A-Team game one of these days but I'm sure it would require more gadgetry to get what I have in mind. I know jack-crap about programming so I can always imagine it.

  5. I just wanted to ask, was there ever a game under consideration based on the A-Team?

I'm wondering because I'm a huge A-Team fan now after discovering the series in syndication on early weekend mornings. I even used the A-Team theme on my radio show.

If anyone can answer this question, it would make my day. With the limitations of the 2600, I imagine that a game based on the A-Team would be pretty basic. As long as it involved explosions, it would do. Perhaps a modified version of Combat with a Jeep that shoots missiles?

  6. I admit, I haven't played this game in about a month. However, I was able to finish well over 65% of it and still have some missions left to do for Marsten's wife/son and the uncle of the kid.

I'm going to wait until I move to a new place before I re-assess my game collection and make a better attempt to utilize it. Until then, this is the only game that's been able to hold my attention and the fun part is that I don't need to cheat to enjoy it. It's pretty much non-linear at points with high replay value.

  7. I admit that I haven't been here in ages but I vaguely remember discussion of this project and I'm glad to see that it's progressing nicely.

Other than ZylonLame's comment (you know a thread is important when ZylonBane makes a witty post ;)), it's nice to see people squeezing more out of underutilized consoles. We all know that the 7800 could have been a NES killer and what's wrong with utilizing the potential that Atari failed to seize upon?

  8. This is absolutely crude and extremely offensive. I find this completely inappropriate.

    <no sarcasm intended>

Just when I think I have this place figured out... wow.. just.. wow...

I hear ya man.... In all seriousness, I'd expect something like this from the Gamefaqs forum. Modding an already perverted game to say "Milf Tech", and then adding panties. Thats something I wouldn't expect from any self respecting adult, let alone a mod on atariage (one of the best forums I've seen).

You know what this kind of stuff really pisses me off, its basically just trolling! :x

If you are offended easily don't click on a topic with Milf in the name, don't comment on it and don't even bother to question to author and insult her. It could be the last thing you do on this forum you love so much :ponder:

Go and get back to watching The Waltons with your mum

As an old-time member, I agree with you and I also think that both of these folks (guitarmas and brandowright) owe Chicky an apology for trying to rain on this parade.

Show some respect and don't diss something that other members are making. You wouldn't piss all over CPUWIZ for his custom carts or batari for creating Batari Basic, would you?

The difference between folks like them and folks like us is that they actually went out and created something. I don't have that kind of skill or dedication and all I do is post.

So show some respect where it's due.

  9. Yeah. I thought that it Albert's project but perhaps someone else took over the reins? I remember that Al had started a NintendoAge site a few years back.

Regardless, if they don't fix that verification image thing, they won't get many new users.

  10. I recently tried to sign up at these forums but can't get past the verification image thing. I enter the correct letters and still get denied, in both Internet Exploder and Firefox.

Anyway, anyone else post there? What are your thoughts?

  11. Unless I'm in the mood to fight with a game, I quit if I get to a part I hate and I can't cheat my way past it. It's an F-ing game. It's supposed to be fun. I don't want a time limit. I don't want to die 5,000 times to memorize the exact dance steps it takes to get to the next level. I'm not the game designer's puppet. He is my puppet. Make a game that I will like. Make a game that is fun. If you refuse to do that and get a sick thrill out of trying to punish me for wanting to have fun playing a game that I paid good money for, you can go sodomize yourself with a wire brush and die, you piece of human filth.

    WE HAVE A WINNAH!

Seriously, I completely agree with and endorse everything he just said. Developers... don't make a game that will pain us. Here we are now, entertain us!

    I third this notion.

I don't want a game that's going to frustrate the hell out of me either. Games are supposed to be fun.
