Reliable places to buy 5200/7800 systems?
Brad2600 replied to Brad2600's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have noticed him around but I needed some idea if he was good to do business with or not. Does he still have plenty of 5200s and 7800s? Do they come in the box? What's the difference between a 2 port and a 4 port? Which is the better deal? I am considering ordering from Collectors Cards and Games soon anyway. Need more info first. -
Reliable places to buy 5200/7800 systems?
Brad2600 replied to Brad2600's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I don't trust morons on EBay. I'm not paying over 100 dollars for a 5200 or a 7800! It's ridiculous! I'm not some money grubbing ass trying to make people pay for stuff they had as a kid! I only go by mailorder or trade! Thanks for the suggestion though. I'd rather go through a retail outlet. -
I mentioned in another thread but I found a whole bunch of good stuff today. There's still some more stuff I wanna get though.

1996 I have had Atari stuff in storage for a long time and I was adding more and more stuff and I still am. I am branching out and collecting different systems now. It's more fun I guess.

The bowling ball is controllable. Not sure if you knew that or not. It's more fun that way also.
-
One of my favorites for the 2600. I don't remember ever getting high scores. And I distinctly recall being able to move the ball as it was rolling towards the pins. Wouldn't this be regarded as cheating? They should remake 2600 Bowling...like hack it and make it spiffier and a lot more fun to play. Why not add laser effects so it would look like rock and bowl? Sound effects? I would if I could.

"The Only System that Matters" And I don't see why not? If Atari was put in the hands of the RIGHT people, anything is possible. I don't like the 10 in 1 controllers...now that is bastardization of the 2600!

I was wondering if anyone knows any mail-order companies that sell video games. I want to buy a 5200 and 7800 for my collection eventually and I need some information on companies that sell these. Let me know.

You know of where I could find a toploader? Besides the one you are trading with this other guy?

FS/T: Commodore Vic-1541 floppy drive
Brad2600 replied to Rockin' Kat's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
It says that you want any Sonic game that you don't already have. I have a copy of Sonic Spinball..dunno if you've heard of it..but I absolutely enjoyed the game back when I was 15 or 16. I'd be willing to part with it and a few other games but I need to know if there's anything else. If you had more details or a pic of the Odyssey2, this would help. I'm not definite regarding a trade. I may decide to dig out Spinball sometime since I have my Genesis hooked up. Thanx -

What exactly do you want for the Odyssey2? Check out the link to my trade list in my signature. I might have something that would interest you. Thanx -
And I was hoping to get a 5200. Hmm. If you hear of any other ones for trade, can you let me know? Thanks.

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Brad2600 replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Here's a list of what I discovered at Goodwill. Unfortunately, most stuff is non-Atari, much to my dismayal: -Sega Control Stick (for the Master System). Still in box with original price tag. Controller is a bit dusty. Box also contained two Master System controllers. -Acclaim Double Player System 2 wireless controllers with reciever Found them unboxed. In good condition. Haven't been tested as none of my NES systems are reliable enough. -Sega Genesis Games (WWF Raw and Super Street Fighter 2). Loose carts -5 games for the Commodore 64(and compatible) It was a good find overall..still some more stuff I didn't get(wireless Genesis controllers and 2 more games)and then the places would be cleared out of games. Went to 2 different Salvation Army stores(Burlington and South Burlington,VT) and they never have many games anyway. Let me know if anything catches your eye. I might need a Master System seeing how I now have 3 controllers. Just let me know. All items are listed on my webpage link below in my signature. -
Never say Never. Naysayers get proven wrong everyday.

I will probably never play ET ever again. Falling constantly into a pit lost it's novelty years ago..about 16 years ago to be exact.
-
They probably wouldn't listen to a petition. Remember, Infogrames possibly has no interest in manufacturing systems. This could prove to be false one day if they happen to acquire some really good software companies. A petition would not do any good unless you did it through AtariAge. I dunno what good it would do, but if we could get ideas, opinions and signatures, you never know! Nothing is impossible!

I would like to recommend Witchfynde. I recieved the games I traded for yesterday and they are in wonderful condition. Space Jockey is intact in the box with the cartridge and instructions and I will play it as soon as my 2600 is booted up again. I also recieved Poker Plus and I look forward to trying it as I love to play 21(or Blackjack). I know I continue to put off booting up my 2600..but I have all New Year's Day to do something so I might just get a power plug soon. If this sounds suspicious, keep in mind that I am still actively looking for more Atari/Colecovision/Intellivision stuff. Thanx Witchfynde and if you want to trade anything else later on, just let me know.

If you had anything really spectacular, I would consider putting up my Jaguar for trade. I have a list of games along with the jag at the bottom of my signature. Check it out. Like I said, it would have to be something I don't already have. If not, good luck finding a Jag. I found mine at a lawn sale for $10 and it works. The only thing is that I only have one game for it..."White Men Can't Jump" and that game is horrible..unboxed of course.

INTV vs 2600 vs Colecovision:Strengths and weaknesses?
Brad2600 replied to Brad2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Sounds like a good recommendation, if only they were easy to find around here. Colecovision, I'm referring to. Checked out 1 Salvation Army store so far...NOTHING. Have 2 more stores to check that will hopefully turn up something(3 stores in this area). Does Funcoland even sell anything like this? Or are they continuously flooded with bad NES carts? I would LOVE to have Colecovision and Intellivision to go along with my 2600. It's the pure fun factor that rules out all 3. Also, I've thought about setting up a "Game Room" if I ever get a house someday. Need some game sytems to fill it up with if I'm ever going to do it. -
Infogrames is doing the Atari name injustice. However, why wouldn't someone buy up the Atari name and start making consoles and games again?I would if I was rich.
-
Only if you were a fan of the C-64. For Atari fans..the story is a little different.
-
Let's build an Atari robot out of Pac-Man cartridge shells and old broken 2600s and then dispatch it to beat up Tramiel! I'd like to have a few words with him anyway. He's responsible for the near death of Atari anyway.
-
Atari is nothing more than another brand name to Infogrames. Who wouldn't like to see a return to Atari's glory days? I don't mean to be challenging or anything. I'm just saying that I've learned so much MORE that I didn't know regarding Atari and I enjoy looking over pictures of prototypes and so forth. It's all good.

MESS is nice..but I'd rather have a playable console that you can use like any other console. It would have the harder to find games built in, and it would use 2nd parties to distribute common games. I dunno. I just wish there was something I could hold in my hands. However, each individual system is worth more than a megasystem would ever be worth.
