Many aplogies there. I must have been in a sugar rush as I got the first name mixed up.

I was just reading up on the atari-history.com profiles on all 3 Atari systems and just realizing how much potential was lost, I hereby accuse Jack Tramiel of the following crimes: -Shelving the 7800 for 2 and 1/2 years while Nintendo and Sega reshaped the video gaming market -Screwing around with Atari's proven formula, thus resulting in the near death of Atari -Not doing enough to keep Atari vital in the first place. Focusing in computers was the death knell. -Allowing the 5200 to be killed off without reaching it's full potential. To make it clear, Atari was sold to Tramiel's company on July 2nd, 1984. While the blame does not rest completely with Tramiel, it should be noted that more could have been done to save Atari and all of it's consoles. Being a long-time video game player, the Atari 2600 started it all for me. I never even SAW the 5200 or the 7800 until I discovered Atari Age. Last time I saw a 7800 was over 1 year ago at a flea market..it was obviously scooped up before I could buy it. I salvaged most of my 2600 collection from dumpsters(most of the systems/games found still work), flea markets and garage sales, as well as the games that my Dad bought when my brother and I were younger. My point is, Jack Tramiel is guilty of a capital crime and should be tried and convicted for attempted murder/reckless endangerment of Atari. It is my sincere hope that Infogrames will bring Atari back from the dead one day. And hopefully, they will not make the same mistakes that Jack Tramiel made..the same mistakes that nearly killed Atari. Infogrames can do better, besides just slapping the Atari name on newer games. Haven't they thought about building a 2600/5200/7800 megasystem or something? How about a newer system to challenge the XBOX/PS2/GAMECUBE/GB ADVANCE market? If they wanted to, they could! I will continue to salvage anything Atari that I can find around here. Not just Atari, but Colecovision and Intellivison. I do not consider any console to be "superior" and I treat them all as equals. I may still be a n00b(pardon the geek language) to this forum, But my heart is bleeding Atari. No matter what system I play nowadays, Atari is still worth playing, as well as collecting! Who's with me? Who's pissed off at Jack Tramiel and the others that nearly killed Atari

I'm glad I don't rely on EBay. Hopefully I won't have to. You can get what you want by TRADING! Why pay $$?
-
No problems there and I should be able to get my 2600 up and running again soon. It's up to me to buy the freakin power supply plug. I hope to get a digital camera someday so I can put my collection on my website. I don't screw around at all and I'm not looking to rip people off for $$.
-
Are the people clueless or what? EBay is not the only way to find a 2600. They should have mentioned AtariAge! I have 2 spare 2600s that I could have sold if the right person had inquired. Talk about clueless yuppies. I have seen the new 10 in 1 with Atari games built into the controller. I'd prefer to have the REAL THING rather than a gadget like this.

I have a 2600 and I have yet to acquire either another INTV2(Had one but lost the console..still have games and Intellivoice device though) or a Colecovision. I am really desiring to expand my collection a lot more. Anyway, Can anyone list the stats of all 3 systems? The Processor types? Speeds? Which system is considered the most advanced of the 3? I'm not going to pick one over the other as I want ALL 3 in my collection! I'm like a kid in a candy store with only a dime in his pocket. It sucks cuz If I was rich I'd have a lot more in my collection. Thanx!

Atari 2600jr prototype and another Atari 2600 Computer
Brad2600 replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Atari 2600
Link won't work for me..even on a different computer. It hates me! Wahhhh! -
I think I'll check those links later. I'm definitely not going to trade this, as I haven't even had a chance to use it! My Atari still lacks a power supply.
-
I have a Video Pad with Star Raiders on it and I don't exactly understand how the Video Pads work. Can anyone tell me of the rarity or the practical use for them? I am considering trading the one I have and I'd like some idea of it's value.

Atari 2600jr prototype and another Atari 2600 Computer

The links do not work and the page will not load. -
Your copy of Fathom should be coming in the mail also soon. Look forward the copy of Space Jockey and the other cart.
-
What are you looking for as in regard to the right deal? Cash? Trade for some old stuff? Lemme know. I have just started trading with others and I find it more fun to trade rather than to sell something on EBay.

I have a 4 switch Atari 2600 with woodgrain and I was wondering what the differences between the 4 switch and the 6 switch 2600s are . It's interesting because until I saw a picture of it, I had no idea what a heavy sixer was.
-
Whoever gets the 2600 could always modify it to support an A/V Connection. I wouldn't...if the 2600 was in top-notch shape.
-
I was wondering how I could get my hands on one of these? Do you know of any places that sell them? I played one before and it was quite superior to a NES. Just looking for more ways to expand my general Video games collection.
-
This is kinda off but what would you be looking for in exchange for a 5200? I am looking to acquire one but have no idea how to find them. I don't already own a 5200..but I have a 2600 with 30 games. Thanks.
-
Speaking of Indy 500, I know someone who's got a copy of that game but not sure if they have the driving controller either.
-
I have an extra set if you're interested in trading for them. I dunno. Then again, I should take a second look at your games list.
-
You must think that you're such a big shot selling illegal warez. Fools like youse end up in the slammer! w00t!
-
I have Jedi Arena and Return of the Jedi myself.

I have already posted about stuff that I have to trade in here. I don't have photographs, but I am a very honest person and I won't decieve people to make a profit. Here's what I have to trade: -A pair of Colecovision "Super Action Controllers". They have not been tested, since I don't have a Colecovision. I'm willing to trade rather than sell. I also have a list of 2600 games that I will share if you are looking for anything specific. I am looking to acquire through either trading or buying: -Atari 5200 with games -Atari 7800 with games -More 2600 games for my collection Let me know if you know of anyone who wants to trade or sell such things. Thanks!
-
Good idea. It's either that or trade them for something I want. I have no idea how to find a Colecovision..other than the marketplace or EBaY(which I am going to avoid due to some ridiculously lame people over there).

Actually, my friend is female and we're going to date probably soon! And I might have missed Cosmic Ark when searching for it anyway. By the way, she also has a Woody 2600 and an Atari 2600Jr.
-
I was looking up a friend's game in the Rarity Guide and didn't see it. It's by Imagic and it's called Cosmic Ark. Any idea to the value? By the way, my friend is NOT trading or selling.

I found the majority of my Atari stuff in a dumpster a few years back. Someone was dumb enough to throw away a 2600 and some games. Some of the collection is from what I had as a kid. I have the original 2600(the Woody) that my dad bought when I was younger. And yet, I did find more carts at lawn sales..along with a 2600Jr that doesn't work. So, I take whatever Atari stuff I can find. Valuable or not, I don't want to see it wasted.
