While it's nothing new, I have noticed that more and more games are becoming multi-platform games. While this generally isn't a problem, it has me wondering if it's making it harder for consumers to decide on which systems they want.
I remember long time ago when each system had at least a few exclusives and not too many games were multi-platform. Nowadays, there's more multi-platform games than exclusives.
I think a great example of a modern exclusive would be Halo. You can only play Halo (and its sequels) on a Microsoft system (unless you count the PC version).
What do people think? Could today's systems benefit from having more exclusives?

I'm obsessed with claiming the world record high score on NES Jaws.
You'll have to go toe-to-toe with rjchamp there.
My resolution is to play my games more and re-organize my collection, which has declined due to the need for rent money, etc.

What position will Ken be working at in sony if this happens and this becomes a flop?
Jizz Mopper.

Isn't he the one that was accused of rape?
Great publicity stunt.

Without sound like a hater, I have no interest in a PS3 mainly due to price and the fact that I haven't seen any interesting games.
Now the Wii or 360? I'm interested in either one.

Has anyone see the joysticks with built in games featuring Dora the Explorer?
Happened to pick up one for my niece for x-mas and it turns out that her mother also picked her up one. However, the one I got her is different from the one her mother got her. The one I got her is a dedicated set of games related to fairytales while the other one features just general games.
I did consider buying an Activision unit for my niece but she's taken quite fast to the Dora games. She's already pretty smart and all she needed was a few pointers and she can play the games with no problems.
I'm hoping this will lead to more interest in videogames as she gets older.
Her father and I grew up with Atari and NES and so forth.Anyway, anyone else have any opinions on these standalone units?

They probably want that stuff shipped to avoid fraud.

I'm serious. I hate those damn pits.

From what ive read about this game i got the impression it was going to be annoying POOR like Airlock, but i got the cart today and plugged it in..perhaps a bit slow but i like it. hell, i even enjoy it,. and i dont think some of the criticism it gets is justified. Yes, it has flaws, but as a 2600 platformer i love it. How does everyone else feel?
It is challenging as hell though.
I love it. It's one of my favorite 2600 games.

Whoa!
Too bad I'm cash strapped already. This is something to consider.

-
It belongs in Classic Gaming General tho.
-
Too bad I'm stuck trying to catch up with my rent or I'd probably go for the Holiday Cart deal again this year.

And for all the idiots on here that hate kids, why don't you save your opinion for someone who really cares, which in this case is no one!

I think the mother should be arrested for stupidity.
That and the fact SRS should have taken her child away years ago before she could fuck up his life.

What a Grade A POS. Kids like that need to get a severe beating. When I screwed up, I got whooped. When most of my friends screwed up they got whooped. Simple. It doesn't make someone maladjusted or anything. Kids should be treated as second rate, then they'll understand respect, and value their individual freedoms and understand what responsibilty means later in life. I mean kids DON'T understand much of how the world works. Now you don't have to always play by "their" rules, but you certainly can't get by acting senseless and spoiled.
Guess I just don't like kids.
Jesus Christ, they just arrested him for OPENING a fucking present.
What sewer did you crawl out of, spawn of Hitler?

EB/GameStop, in my experience is like every other store - many of the employees are idiots and assholes, few are not. When I go to the local EB, I try deliberately to get the employees I like. You won't believe this but I actually had an employee talk me OUT of buying a used copy of Donkey Konga, when he realized I could get it cheaper new with bongos than I could by purchasing a used game and used bongos.
Only reason to buy used games from there is if it's out of print or hard to find. New games I buy used off of GameFly. I have never had any problems with their games, the boxes and manuals are all top-notch, it looks like they resurface them before shipping, and the best part, is that a the price of a used game is usually 50% of new within ONE MONTH of release. Not five or ten dollars cheaper, but HALF PRICE. THAT'S how to sell used games.
EB/Gamestop sucks ass around here, man. There's 1 in S.Burl, 1 in Burl and 1 in Williston. All 3 suck donkey nuts. The one in S.Burl is full of stuck up clerks.

Apparently, so am I. I figured 2.5 years of self-imposed exile was enough. So, what'd I miss around here?
<looks around>
Hmmm... somebody moved the fern. Looks good over in the corner now.
You do know the Contest forum and contests around here have gone to hell in a handbasket since you left

Yeah. He always had the best contests.

DP needs to get better forum software.
That's about it. I'd visit more often except that the forums always appear to be down whenever I try.

God, some of you are so stupid.
You wholeheartedly approve of a cop barging into people's homes and shooting them, even if they're unarmed?
Fucking cop sniffers.

Why is it wrong? It's interesting but it doesn't change the fact that he's an asshole that hates the West.

So basically the game companies want to let 10 year old enjoy raping girls, jacking cars, and blowing away enemies?
I still think there should be some limit. At least put age restriction and make it a felony to rent or sell to minor the same way cigs and booze are illegal to underage.
I know there's been studies done before to show (or disprove) connection between violent video game and violent lifestyle but I'd still prefer to limit it.
Why should the rental clerk play the role of a parent? Blame it on the parents for letting their kids play/rent violent games in the first place!
There should not be a law that punishes people who abide by the rules just because of what Jack Thompson wants.

2600 collecting got me into debt.
But it was fun while it lasted.

I'm just defending Tramiel as a human being and not as a businessman.

Is this supposed to be humor?
Who let the prude in?

What was the first VideoGame magazine you ever bought?

I think for me, it was Nintendo Power and then EGM.
