The battery is soldered the the board.....that's the issue,

I have my original dreamcast from 2000 and it works great. Nothing has gone on it yet....except the system battery. I've read that you could solder 2 AAA battery's in place of the old battery. I'm not good and don't know how to solder and desolder so that's why I'm looking at someone to do it for me. I'm not looking for another system because it's my original, but i was wondering if I pay for shipping, labor, rechargeable batteries etc,. I could have someone solder my dreamcast. Is utopia just for home-brews?

Does gameshark do region unlock? Or any other good cds? I heard of utopia, but I also heard it wasn't that good. Correct me if I'm wrong...

I love the Dreamcast. It's one of my favorite systems. I just bought shenmue 1 for the dreamcast and I'm excited to play it. I've heard a lot of great reviews about it. The thing is, shenmue 2 wasn't released in the United States. It was pal and Japan only. How does one go about playing it on an American dreamcast? Do I have to mod it or can I buy a disc/disc like a gameshark or code breaker? Any ideas? The system has a lot of other region exclusives I'd love to try out!

Any recommendations on how to mod a 7800. I was thinking of doing an av mod and I didn't know if anyone had a particular mod that was pretty good. I want to see the 7800 as clear as possible and rf isn't really doing it for me.

I'm very sorry I didn't mean it like that. I guess I'm asking what games people enjoy for those particular systems. I like fighting, arcade, action, and sim. I didn't know if anyone wanted to recommend some games. Or even outside of those systems, what console has a good but small library....

Ive been thinking about this for a long time. I used to have about 30 systems, but some of them I didn't even play. I was thinking that instead of getting as many systems I could get my hands on IE, quality not quantity.....I wanted to fill out the library of systems I honestly enjoyed.
