Does anybody know if there is a compatibility problem between the Master Interface and the 5200?
-
I just wanted to say the Caféman did a fantastic job with Koffi. It was better than what I thought it would be. : )
-
I have a Master Interface but it does not work. My brother bought it like 8 years ago in a yard sale with a 5200 unit and games and many controls and extras for $1.00. : )

I have many colecovision games but I just never got around to getting one for my collection. I must admit at there were some games 5200 was not able to make as good as the colecovision. Even if 5200 was a better system. I like them both. They were different which made it better. I also love Intellivision and every other console out there. : )

I thought that the Colecovision came out to compete against Intellivision and 2600. I remember Colecovision saying you can play 2600 games on the CV. But like a year late a commercial came out for the 5200 saying that YOU CANT PLAY 5200 games on on the CV. So, which one came first. CV or 5200?

I was changing stations when I heard the word ATARI on NPR as I changed the station. Of course I went back and listened the interview. I was shocked when he said Atariage. You see, I never saw the posting saying anything about the interview. I ran into the interview by mistake. My wife and I were laughing because Albert was describing "me". He was saying everything I do. I guess we all get our games on ebay or the flee market. I think it's great that Atariage made it to NPR news. : )

Beats me.. I wonder if someone knows what that game looks like for the 5200 since I can't even find a screen shot. I think it's wierd that Atari would start a lawsuit against Sega knowing the 5200 was dead when Sega made releases for the Master System.

Ok, I read the FAQ @ ~jeffryj and tried to make a very simple ROM to play on the emulator (VSS77) and I followed the instruction yet I can't get to to make a .bin I noticed that all the examples have a *.inc file. Where does it come from? I just wanted to print something on the screen. I went to the Atariarchive site to read about mapping memory and what not. I have to say it help. But is there a very simple step by step instruction that will tell you how to creat a binary file that will play on the emulator (VSS77), even if its just printing something on the screen? Thanks...

COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I destroy a couple myself. Funny that in level 2-3 I did not run into any. One thing I did notice is that when I destroy the last 6 or 7 fleets outside of the frontier "After I destroyed their bases" would never try to enter the frontier. No matter how long I took to destroy them. I think that everytime "in the begining of the game" that I stopped a fleet trying to enter the frontier, I destroy their Command Ship while its trying to make a break in the frontier. After that Command Ship is destroyed. The fleet is left with no Command Ship therefor not being able to enter. I Would assume that when we battled against a Command Ship in open space, its because we never destroyed it while entering the frontier. Summary: You kill the Command Ship.. They are stuck outside of the frontier. BTW- I am not sure if I ever destroyed a command ship inside the frontier.

Ok.. Level 3 Completed. The ending on level 3 is no different than any other level. Of course it was a lot harder but I defended the Frontier and while I eliminated all Aliens within the frontier and after that it was a piece of cake.

Once again..... You should be proud of me.. You ALL should be proud of me.... I saved hundreds of worlds including Earth.. Again!! I went ahead and gave level two a try. At first I felt overwhelmed, but after I got rid of the Ko-Dan from the Rylos System, I went in and destroyed their bases. I guess the secret is in the Frontteer. If you keep them from entering, they never invade your planets. 89400 was my score--------That makes me a Captain.... Level 3 is our next goal.. Wish me luck.

Well, I guess you did mean 5200BAS. So you just want a small quick run-through tutorial like: HELLO: print "Hello World" goto HELLO Allan Yea, A little tutorial to help me see how it's done. I have to admit that I feel that I learned a little, but seeing someone do it is much better than reading about it. I know if I can learn how to make a game for the 5200, it will be a cool one. I always think of cool games for older systems. I can even program it at work. While I monitor my campaigns. I must learn. It's in my blood. It's my destiny.
-
Someone should make a quick program. (Like Missile or Racer52) And record there actions on tape. Then place it for downloading somewhere so us "programmer wannabees" (like me ) can see first hand how to make a 5200 program. I would like to see how you take a code and translate to bin and what not.
-
What do I have to type on TASM to make a bas. file into a .bin file that the VSS would be able to read? I'm no good at this.
-
It places a Victory sign across the screen. Level 7 is 100 Dreadnought's to destroy. It probably places a Victory sign once beat a hundred. But I never managed to get so far.

well.. here's what I'm working on...

I think you are doing a great job with the game. It looks cool. I never saw or played it in the past but it look really cool. I a still trying to figure out how to translate .bas to .bin using TASM. I just downloaded it. -
On what level does Gyruss end. I been to Earth and it goes back to Neptune.
-
Thanks for the ranking legend. I have no idea what my points are. I was playing in in level one so I can learn how to play it and things fell into place and before you know it I destroy all the Ko-Dan Bases and then hunted their fleets down one by one. I will have to try it in level 2 and 3 to see how much harder they are. Games that finish, The Dreadnaught Factor ends. StarRaiders ends. Pole Position ends. Pitfall II ends. Space Shuttle ends. And I am sure there are more that end. And I do have to say that LSF is one of the best games for the 5200 if not the best.

I finished The Last Starfighter for the 5200. That means, You should be proud of me. I saved hundreds of worlds, including Earth.

Do you have anymore of the first 100 Koffi carts? I am gonna try to sneak payment out on my next paycheck without the Videogame police seeing me. Oh, and how much did you calculate the shipping will be? (Cheap slow Mail) if possible. Thanks

Good Deal

I love my 5200. It makes me happy when I look at it.

I see that the TASM program is a shareware. Is everyone making 5200 games using the shareware or are they purchasing the full version
