Changed shipping to a fixed price of $15, I was previously using the calculate shipping option by weight. -

Wow, that's not right. It shouldn't cost more than $20. I'll fix that. It's 11 pounds and eBay doesn't give an option for FedEx, the bastards. -

It's possible. I've had EMP-20s die on me and a few of my associates, so just know they're not bulletproof. It really sucks Needhams is no longer available or I would have been happy to continue using their programmer lineup. If I had to pick from the EMP series that gave me the least problems it was probably the EMP-10, smaller package, couldn't do as many devices as the 20 but it was faster.

I have to say my experience with the Willem programmers available at www.mcumall.com has been largely positive. I've thrown several dozen different IC types and package styles (DIP, PSOP, PLCC) at two different programmer iterations and I had no issues over the past two years. I've used everything from the Needhams EMP series to Batronix (lots of problems with that one) over the past ten years.

I was just throwing $20 out there as a random amount. I don't follow the Nintendo scene and I don't remember exactly who sold these or how much they went for, but I can tell you that it was significantly less than $200. There were boxed versions available and one of those sold for about $120 a few months back, IIRC. I suspect a loose copy would fetch half that much (or less). I'm not sure if anyone is still making these, but I would think more could be made as long as you have the appropriate donor cart. Going rate is anywhere from $60 to $80, but I don't make them. The eproms are kind of costly and you have to track down a FX2 donor cart to boot, I believe. There are tutorials on the web if you want to make one for yourself.

When I posed as Paul Brown for the Bio Force Ape prank of 2005 I was contacted discretely by many people via Paul's email address, one of whome was TheRedEye. Frank was operating under the assumption I had a real prototype of an unreleased game, and right from the start he was very upfront about the nature of dumping the game's contents, the fact that it would become devalued in the eyes of collectors but preserved, and also offered to make me a copy once it had been dumped, free, so I (Paul) could later sell the original devalued prototype but still have something to play. The only other people who tried to get ahold of me were collectors wanting to buy it with offers well below what the 'real' market value of an unreleased NES game was. Nobody even offered half of what it technically would have been worth. And I would venture to say you're not the sort of person who would be so forthcoming with someone about paying an item's actual value if you could get away with paying less for their ignorance, Adam.

Wear it in your next video I don't know if he'll be able to squeeze into a Medium. Good price for what he paid though, can't be too many of those lying around. -

When I first got it a few years ago I played it at least once a month, broke it out whenever I had someone over who grew up playing the games as well. Nowadays I assess what I haven't touched in a while and off it goes. Do you accept Paypal? If so, I'd give you $60 shipped to area code 44216.(northeast ohio) Gonna cost more to ship it than $5.
