  1. Yes, the pictures were taken before I got around to installing the green LED. I mentioned that in my first post.
  2. worldman2003- Sorry, not interested in those titles. MMF- I will amend my post then. video game addict- This talk of pickled pigs feet tantalizes me, PM sent!
  3. Maybe you guys know about it, maybe you don't. Here's what I've done to it: Installed a direct connect cart port- Disabled the lockout chip- Swapped the red power LED with a green one- So what makes it so special? Well you have the connection reliability of a top loading NES but retain the video quality (and composite output) of a toaster. It looks OEM from the outside until you load a cartridge. It will be able to play any region 72-pin cart (although some PAL games will still have problems) and loads a split second faster. And uh, the green LED will have your visitors doing double takes. Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm getting rid of this one since it was my 'prototype' and the outer shell wasn't in the best shape- minor scratches here and there, but it works. I've since made another one for myself to keep, and it's really pretty and no I'm not making anymore. In case you're wondering about reliability I've had this one since June of 2003, light use (just to test my carts as they come in) and it still works like a charm. I did one for MegaManFan, you can ask him how he feels about it, but I can tell you he promptly got rid of his new style NES. Or doesn't use it. It's collecting dust!!! Pictures, they were taken before I put the green LED in but you get the idea: http://www.angelfire.com/apes/madmeat/toaster1.html I'm willing to take trades on this one below the value of what I'd consider my time and effort involved, just to get it out. I've been hankering for a really nice cart of SNES Demon's Crest. Gameboy Advance titles, TG-16 hucards, Famicom carts, bla bla bla.. This is just for the deck itself, no controllers/no hookups.
  4. Last weekend at the flea I saw these going for 30 bucks. I was almost tempted, but then I noticed the cartridge was way too small to be a famicom cart, which is what I was really after. They don't seem so bad, sure, they're cheaply made, and 59$ is way too much. For the casual player 30 bucks isn't bad for 100 distinct games though.
  5. Great idea, but.. that sharpie marker doesn't look so hot. Just a suggestion, but look into getting a vinyl sticker custom cut for you. Many sign and promotional shops 'll do it for a couple of bucks.
  6. All in nice shape. Pooyan Strawberry Shortcake Musical Matchups Kangaroo Space Jockey Mountain King Looking for the following 2600 games, in nice shape: Adventure Millipede Centipede Galaxian Q*Bert Cosmic Ark Open to other offers, I collect NES, Genny, SNES as well.
  7. It's not hard, I had the top text measured off right in the label art I sent you AtariYoungin. You just have to trim off the excess a bit at a time with a straight edge and gauge it by eye. When cutting a label out you always want overlap on the printout so that the cuts look clean and not offset with empty space.
  8. Okay, I'm swapping my Sweet Home entry for this one:
  9. Go the ebay route. It's turning into a buyer's season with the warmer weather- Figure the toploader on average goes for 85, and 100 NES carts all different, a lot of good titles in there, 2 bucks a piece at least.
  10. Since this contest was extended after I submitted four entries would it be possible to swap them out with other stuff before May?
  11. Let he who is without d-pad cast the first stone.
  12. Front-lit devices will also last a much longer time and are far more energy efficient than standard backlighting, which is done through miniature fluorescent tubes.
  13. I never get tired of the 16-bit Sonic games. Well, except for Spinball, but I didn't like it from the start. Every year I play through the others at least once though. Excellent level design all around that never drops pace.
  14. Info: With rom, In English! ..I'm not going to deliberately mislead anyone, this isn't an officially licensed NES cart.
  15. Have you tried getting in touch with Nintendo of America? They might have some contacts or the ability to put you to the proper channels through NoJ.
  16. It may be possible, but the high-quality resolution required for such a thing would be beyond most home printers, making it not so cost effective. Also, with flash carts and the PocketNES emulator, adapting NES or Famicom carts to play on the GBA SP becomes a trivial issue.
  17. This is more of a feeler post than anything. I'm teetering on the fence over whether I should scale down my collection for space and I have the following Jewels with manuals in nice shape, some have the card condoms some don't. Alien Crush Blazing Lazers Bonk's Adventure Bonk's Revenge Dragon Spirit Keith Courage R-Type I would be looking for, in order of preference, the following loose hucards in nice shape. Non-imports, trade only please. Military Madness Ordyne Ninja Spirit Bloody Wolf Bomberman (first one or 93') Chew Man Fu The Legendary Axe
  18. I grew up with those text style labels and seeing that on a repro gave me a kick of nostalgia. I say keep 'em.
  19. It's not even in that great a shape, and the bidder has 120 feedback. Yeesh, they should know better.
  20. The Jr. I got from you is enough for me, (which was also in excellent, excellent shape I might add) thanks though. I do have a bit of info I think you might like to know though. Sending a PM.
  21. Jeeze, Wizard, you sure can clean those suckers. I am in awe at that 4-switch.
  22. I'd be upset if I cared about booklets. Nice nab, Spend.
