  1. They're all exactly the same, with the exception of a larger viewing area since the SMS has a larger resolution than the Game Gear. Sonic Triple Trouble actually uses the extended Game Gear color pallet so it was never given an SMS port. If you check out screenshots you can see how much more vibrant it was, so in that sense the earlier Sonic games were 'crippled' (with color limitations) to work both on the console and handheld.
  2. European 'PAL' games will work on a US SMS system for the most part, including the Sonic titles and several other exclusives. The Brazil games tend to be more picky. Euro titles can be common and cheap, it's just the shipping overseas that can be a pain.
  3. I picked up a nice loose copy of Global Defense on Saturday for 2 bucks, already had the box so it worked out well. It's like a cross between Missile Command and Defender, pretty fun. The european Sonic games (1, 2, and Chaos) are must-haves imo. Wonder Boy III represents the real potential of the Master System, probably my favorite game for any system out there.
  4. You would be if you were recycling all that stuff from other packages.
  5. Correct sir, I also agree. Interestingly enough this one came out well before the NES was on its way out too, so it isn't like there was a major last effort involved ala Kirby's Adventure. Irem only made about 4 NES games or so in all, didn't they?
  6. My arch-nemesis!! When will you learn that MEAT is nature's true produce!?
  7. Fruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuit!! I said nothing of fruit. You can still get mac stuff in color coordinated plastic or whatever it is they're casting them in. Just like PCs!! GASP IT IS NOT TEH MAC ATTACK
  8. It's been around since launch for Japan and Europe, USA just got the short end of the stick where that was concerned. Which is still black. Charcoal, ebony, licorace, ninja, you can dress up the absence of color with a lot of words. Nintendo is as bad as Apple, in fact, their computers come in flavors.
  9. Black. It's probably the only color plastic that ages well.
  10. Tenjeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen. You know it feels good.
  11. Just a case of people paying more for the luxury of getting the game early. The Zelda pack-in isn't supposed to be 'out' yet.
  12. Yeah, though I thought IV was fun, it's fairly common. Never played Dracula X but Nintendo Power covered it at one point so it has to have some redeeming quality. While it supposedly falls short of being a psuedo-sequel/remake to Rondo of Blood you'd probably be better off keeping Drac X, and getting Castlevania IV again later.
  13. I got a set (same rubber holder, just red) from All Electronics. They're about 10 bucks..?
  14. I just tried a tri-wing and what do you know, it does work- sorta. You have to be really careful not to strip the screw head, but the points do go in place.
  15. The triangle heads are just that, screws with a perfect triangle indented into the face. Never came across the exact bit for them. McDonald toys sometimes have them, probably to make sure kids don't take them apart and get in trouble. (Choking hazard)
  16. Email them to see if they have it in stock. My experience with them is that they just list crap and wait for you to order before telling you if they have it or not.
  17. It just involves a little NES spelunking, and clipping pin 4 on the NES lockout chip on the motherboard. While this broadens the Nintendo's library, not all games will work, as they may still rely on the NTSC/PAL sync stuff.
  18. Recca for the NES. The number of sprites on screen at once just gets insane.
  19. Racing games = Come on, I got Food Fight the following week! I played that ten times more than I did with Pole Position. Atari really could have done better, especially in the face of Super Mario Bros.
  20. The best pack-in in my opinion would be Sonic the Hedgehog 1. There was a game Sega could have gotten away with selling on its own, instead they also pack it with the system to move Genesis consoles. Unlike Altered Beast or Super Mario Bros that is a game I'll play just about any time, too. Quality title. My idea of the worst pack-in would be Halo, or to phrase it better, why hasn't Microsoft bundled it with the X-box already? I also remember Pole Position II as being pretty lackluster for my first 7800 cart.
  21. Since you've decided to air out your dirty laundry on your own I'll state my side of the story. You knew that I was interested only if the label of the game in question was in good shape, which you confirmed. Whether you tried removing this rental sticker before or after that statement, you still knew there was some label damage because of that and sent it anyway without letting me know. I can remove rental stickers without damage 99% of the time, you really should have let me worry about it. Then there was shipping. I sent first class rate on the same day we confirmed via PM.. you said you would as well. Then a week later you send it out media mail rate, so I didn't even get the thing until two and a half weeks later. Ultimately? The game was just a common NES cart! It wasn't the end of the world for me, but I sure did let Kepone know I was disappointed in him. I'm not interested in bleeding him over it, but simply won't be dealing with him in the future. I didn't make one word about this public until he started a temper tantrum in this thread, so you can probably glean of the two parties involved who is more upset about this.

  23. Dangit, I was setting him up. Bah, I'll do it anyway. Google, my son. Google.
