  1. Really, the cure for many ills is more video games and anime.

Good advice.  I tend to think back to the 90's when my friends and I would end up buying video games and CDs,  (Always made us happy),  and some other friends bought movies ... And yeah...For a while (early 2000's I'd say) I went on a real anime kick.  I still see a bumper sticker around town sometimes that says "Anime.   Crack is cheaper."   I sold the girl with that bumper sticker a big box of VHS anime about 15 years ago...

Wait a minute!  I just read it was also on Midway Arcade Treasures 3 for PS2.  (I never realized..I even have that game).  Wikipedia says it's the Dreamcast version!  But alas!  No Japanese release.  Do you have a North American PS2?   Just a thought...Anyway I found a video of the PS 2 Stunt Mode and it looks about like Dreamcast's!  Yay!  I still recommend this game to you both!  Cheers!

Not with me (it's in the USA), but I do have a US PS3 that I could use. I need to thermal paste it. It runs very loudly and I'm very hesitant to use it.

My BC PS3 needs some work as well. It runs okay, but mine is loud too. I've just left it alone until I get around to it. I should do that soon because really to get rid of that empty feeling, I should replay Persona 3.

  3. There is no such thing as Macra! Macra do not exist! There are no Macra!

Okay... classic dr. who reference that most won't get....

One a these days gonna watch Dr. Who...

  4. Why is the easiest way to find those misc things that you have lost (e.g., flashlight, comb, belt, whatever) is to go to the store any buy another one? The original always turns up.

  5. Anyone have any luck getting sharpscale to load on their Vita/PSP?

      cybercylon

      PSP...ha! I meant PSTV

  6. I miss sports already. Well, guess It is time to catch up on video games.

Go play some sports games 😁

  7. So we are not supposed to touch our face with our hands. How do we wash our face then? Garden hose in the yard? Go through a car washer with the windows down? Live with a dirty face?

      save2600

Washcloth... works great for the arse too. Just be sure to wash your face first!  lol

Ya wash your hands, then you can wash your face, though I gotta confess Car Wash with the windows down had me rolling.

  8. Raspberry Pi 3B or 4 if one is using it as teaching tool for younger teenagers?

I will dissuade and say the 4. The extra "oomph" can make it comfortably faster in Raspbian, which is likely where you'll be spending a fair amount of time.

    3. Flojomojo

      Flojomojo

They cost about the same, but the older ones are easier to find.

    4. cybercylon

      cybercylon

The conclusion I came to was the 3B+ has more stuff while I guess the 4 is more future proof. What I have in mind doesn't need a jet engine. Wonder if I can get 3d cases printed on campus, slap a fugi logo on.... no, I would never do that.

  9. I don't normally do two updates on a day either, but just found a channel on Pluto TV that streams classic Dr. Who.

      BydoEmpire

They also have an Addams Family channel!

Pretty sure it was on there that I found Red Dwarf streaming, but the quality was so bad I felt like I was watching it on a Sega CD.   (I have 2 Series on DVD and have watched episodes in the past on DISH, so I was pretty aware of the difference...It felt like a grainy VHS dub)...Still fun though ;)

  10. RIP PlayStation Vue.

      Flojomojo

      That was the TV service?

    2. cybercylon

      cybercylon

Yes. That was their streaming service that had a decent blend with a lot of live sports (many at 1080p60... 60 fps is more important than this 4K nonsense).

  11. I am beginning to think completing everything on Birth by Sleep (PS4) isn't worth it. I started on normal, and trying to unlock everything is brutal.

  12. Would you pay this much for this item? Things that make you go hmmmm... https://castlemaniagames.com/collections/frontpage/products/chrono-trigger-translated-sfc-game

      cybercylon

A loose NA version of Chrono Trigger will set you back between $80-$110 give or take (and this is a case of demand... it isn't that rare). I've seen the SFC version go for about $12-$15. The process for getting a translation on there is documented. Does take some skills.

    3. cybercylon

      cybercylon

      But not $100 worth.

I'm in the wrong line of work 😂

  13. Finally, I have an HD Retrovision Genesis cable. Those seem to go out of stock, sometimes for long periods. Heads up for anyone wanting the Neo Geo adapter. Read they may not be making them for quite awhile.

  14. What if life gives lemons, but they are dry lemons? Then what?

  15. This looks promising, but TerraOnion's last product taught the lesson that it is best to wait for the inevitable revisions. Mega SD Sega CD ODE

The link in your first status update above did work.

  16. Can any you suggest a good N64 S-video cable that is not $50, or that is not cheap shite that shoves composite through the S-video cable?

    1. cybercylon

      cybercylon

This is just to tide me over until I can have some mod work done.

    2. DragonGrafx-16

      DragonGrafx-16

The Gamecube uses the same connector so try searching for that...

    3. Rick Dangerous

      Rick Dangerous

OEM Nintendo S Video cable is really the only way to be safe, but HD Retrovision recommends a few sellers

  17. Any good reason to pay more for the N64 everdrive 3.0 other than one game not working and having to do a reset before shutting down with the 2.5 version?

    1. cybercylon

      cybercylon

Big price difference between the two.

  18. Had the day off and decided to pay a visit to Stone Age Gamer. First time I have driven away empty handed. There was stuff that I was interested in, but my internal response... "There is stuff at home you haven't played yet."

    1. Zoyous

      Zoyous

You could have amended that thought with "...and I will place these new games on top of those."

  19. I am expecting a package from Ireland that was delivered by An Post. Who handles it once it reaches the US? (How long... yes I know YMMV).

    1. Flojomojo

      Flojomojo

I would assume the USPS. If you have a tracking number, it should show how it's been handed off.

    2. x=usr(1536)

      x=usr(1536)

An Post is the Irish equivalent to the USPS, for what it's worth.

    3. cybercylon

      cybercylon

Thanks. It is now in the US system... this was fast... really is YMMV. I once had some Dr. who DVDs that took over two weeks, but my Retrode arrived in about 4-5 days from Dragonbox.

  20. I made a post in the TG16 thread about using a Framemeister to placate an OSSC video out with an Elgato HD 60. Any hints will be helpful. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/237235-the-official-turbografx-16-thread/?p=4270086

      cybercylon

Sorry... to placate the Elgato with OSSC's video out so I can do a 4x or 5x line double.

  21. Setting up Retroarch and Mednafen takes some work, but I don't mind the tinkering when in the right mood.

    1. deepthaw

      deepthaw

What’re the practical differences between Mednafen and a RetroPie?

  22. So I take it videogameperfection.com seems to be the main source of the OSSC. What are these things in eBay? Cheap knock offs made in China?

    1. Shawn

      Shawn

Until your post, I didn't even know that website existed or what a OSSC was. The whole site seems kinda pricey. 15 EURO to replace a battery?

What's polymega and b. the word "cyber" has obvious connotations in my mind now. Cyber = cybernetic, cybernetic = cybernetic organism, cybernetic organism = Cyborg.

Polymega is one of those vaporware consoles (well, it might exist like any PC). There is a thread on it. Cyber is from Cybermen.
