All it takes is a couple of bad bouts of serious food poisoning to make you nervous (my background in virology does not help...)

We have a Chipolte in town, tons of people go there, and I've never even tried it. If there's stuff about food poisoning though, I do not want that crap again so I probably won't poke it with the trusty 10-foot pole for a bit.

I like Chipotle, but there are tons of better places to get burritos here. So, avoiding Chipotle is no big loss.

We use NOMOROBO on the land line (it's cheaper to keep it with our plan) and I use MrNumber in my mobile. I wish I had options like that on my work line, where I get solicitations all day long.

I have an old Visa gift card that I give to the telemarketers and after I give them the numbers, they say it doesn't work and then I say: "Really? I just stole it yesterday!" Then they hang up.

It can be flakey with any kind of cart. Fine without the 32X, but of course no 32X games without it. I think getting a real power supply is the next step.

Take it apart and clean the ribbon cables. Clean the Genesis, and 32x cart port and insert. Use mine with a Mega Everdrive all the time works flawlessly.

Wait a minute!  I just read it was also on Midway Arcade Treasures 3 for PS2.  (I never realized..I even have that game).  Wikipedia says it's the Dreamcast version!  But alas!  No Japanese release.  Do you have a North American PS2?   Just a thought...Anyway I found a video of the PS 2 Stunt Mode and it looks about like Dreamcast's!  Yay!  I still recommend this game to you both!  Cheers!

Not with me (it's in the USA), but I do have a US PS3 that I could use. I need to thermal paste it. It runs very loudly and I'm very hesitant to use it.

My BC PS3 needs some work as well. It runs okay, but mine is loud too. I've just left it alone until I get around to it. I should do that soon because really to get rid of that empty feeling, I should replay Persona 3.

El Capitan wasn't a major problem for me. Yosemite was more problematic. Used is not a bad idea. There is always the Hackintosh route.

My household has been all Mac since around the time OS X was introduced. In terms of overall functionality and ease of use Tiger was my favorite, though I'm running Snow Leopard on my current computer for Intel functionality. The rest of the household is using Yosemite and doing alright with it. The point of all this being that you don't have to run the newest OS if you don't care for it. Keep it simple if that's what you like. =)

What did you end up doing? I've quit the Mac platform more than most people ... Linux was OK but iOS brought me back ... then iOS matured to the point where it didn't need a Mac anymore except for Xcode. I still like the hardware but they really need a better low end nowadays. I've been happy enough with Windows 10 on ASUS but your SPSS and Matlab needs are tricky. I think Adobe CC is just a subscription, I doubt they care what you run it on.

Add ons like that are always trouble cause they get loose connections. I had a hard time with the CV 2600 adapter which resulted in a black & white stuck screen half the time I used it...

A loose NA version of Chrono Trigger will set you back between $80-$110 give or take (and this is a case of demand... it isn't that rare). I've seen the SFC version go for about $12-$15. The process for getting a translation on there is documented. Does take some skills.

Beautiful! The pre-crash stuff being gone.. I'm all for stylish and modern minimalism. Or full-on Rustic. Never had good luck integrating vintage gaming stuff into those decor schemes in a usable & functional way.

This was a second purge. A somewhat smaller one went to my son earlier in the fall. Probably another purge coming , but that will probably be sometime early next year.

I will dissuade and say the 4. The extra "oomph" can make it comfortably faster in Raspbian, which is likely where you'll be spending a fair amount of time.

They cost about the same, but the older ones are easier to find. 

The conclusion I came to was the 3B+ has more stuff while I guess the 4 is more future proof. What I have in mind doesn't need a jet engine. Wonder if I can get 3d cases printed on campus, slap a fugi logo on.... no, I would never do that.
