  1. Why stop at 1984? There were games released after that.
  2. I was there and witnessed it. There were three others of us playing on the same set of paddles, and no one had a score quite like that 9. Looks to me like he's in shock at how bad you were playing, and was about to report you on his cel phone to someone for your playing. Probably was alerting people to expect a new score for Circus Atari!
  3. I didn't take that picture, so I don't have a higher quality shot to PDF.
  4. USAir really did lose his luggage. He got into Dallas around 10:30AM or so on Friday, and then never actually got it until the middle of the day on Saturday.
  5. FYI, my server is down at the moment. Should be back up later this afternoon.
  6. I just got my pictures I took from AGE 2003 online. There's about 55 of them, and you can check 'em out here. http://2600.siegler.net/austin2003/index.html
  7. Or why you felt the need to ask in public. Shouldn't you be emailing a moderator?
  8. ^ - Bummer. Is there anyone else still known to be out there?
  9. I look forward to seeing what you come up with, and if you're having fun that's the most important part. Have you tried looking in in the Wayback Machine for a copy of your old site? ..Al Interesting that you recommend the site, and block it via robots from viewing your own site!
  10. Hey, I was just reading about Apollo Games. It says they were formed in Richardson, Texas. Does anyone know (Albert?) if these guys are still hanging around, adn more to the point if they're still in the Richardson area? Given that I work in the game industry as well, I wanted to say "Hi" from someone who actually thought one of their games was one of my favorite 2600 titles (Lost Luggage).
  11. I forgot to mention this.. I released the ROM I used for this online a week or two ago, but neglected to mention it here. I did tell Albert about it, but he hasn't put it online anywhere (or made a story or anything). The link is at the bottom of the DNF 2600 page on the 3D Realms site if you want to check it out.. http://www.3drealms.com/duke4/dnf2600.html And that cartridge really DOES display that picture on the screen. Of course, that's all it does, but hey.. CPUWIZ made the carts for me. We kept a couple as a gag (in fact, one is in the trophy case here at 3D Realms), but there were only 4 copies made (3 silver and one red one). Please don't ask for copies of the cart, I've requested that no further copies be made due to the issue of using Duke on there. If folks were going to make copies of the cart repro, then the 3DR legal folks would have a problem with that. The whole thing was my idea - as I'm into 2600 stuff, I thought of doing the DNF2600 thing as an April Fool's Joke. All the text on that page was written by me (with a few minor tweaks by 3DR prez George). The bit about networking 2600's and the interface were things I thought of because I know a few things about the community - I tried to make it sound as plausible as possible. Hell, even a few people picked up on my usage of one of the bimbos from the pr0n 2600 game "Beat "em & Eat 'Em" too.
  12. I made the original video with the movie mode of my Nikon Coolpix 5000 camera (in Quicktime format). One of the guys here at 3DR converted it to AVI (Because some people here thought no one would download it if all I provided was a real media file - so they converted it to AVI for me).
  13. Actually, you don't own the game - you purchase a license to use the game. To my knowledge it's never happened, but companies could revoke your license to use the program, although I Can't envision a scenario where/when it would happen, I believe that the possibility is out there.
  14. One of my favorites was going to the local department store with my brother before we had an Atari and standing in the store and playing Combat for hours.
  15. Hey! My Duke Nukem Forever 2600 cart isn't a hoax - it does exactly what it says it does.
  16. Err yeah Jo, but check my location...
  17. To the two folks right above me... We're talking about PAL here. UK distribution isn't always the same as US distribution. Please keep that in mind when you talk about this. While the red labels were the last ones produced towards the end of teh 2600's life, it wouldn't surprise me if the UK guy a few posts up is correct in the rarity of the red label asteroids. Still, my brother might be able to find one at PhillyClassic.
  18. Am I correct in assuming that the only PAL Asteroids is a red label one? I rather like the red label games, and was thinking about getting a PAL Asteroids for my collection - thing is I don't see any on Ebay. Anyone have an extra red label Asteroids?
  19. Are there any 2600 games you play that when you do, all you can do is play it the wrong way? Case in point.. Sky Diver. The real way to play the game holds no interest. My revised way of playing is to get the guy to go splat in the center of the target. It's even more challenging when the target is moving.
  20. Does anyone know if there are plans to release this on any other platforms? I have an Xbox & a Gamecube, and I really want this thing, but I don't have a PS2. Dammit - if it was on either of these platforms, I'd have already ordered it! Grrr....
  21. Warlords (only with people - the computer players are morons) Kaboom! Dragonstomper Demon Attack River Raid Amidar Ms. Pac-Man
  22. Total list comes in just under 400. Forget exact number at the moment - it's linked in my sig. How long collecting? Well, about 25 years, since some of these games have been in my brother's or my possession since they were originally bought back in the 70's. However, I believe we have been doing this with an intent to collect for less than a year. Marquee titles? Klax NTSC Proto , Atlantis II (which I actually got myself from Imagic way back when myself), Cubicolor sent to me by Rob (but NOT as part of the 50 sold - he sent it to me himself after we chatted about the videogame industry). There's others, but that's all I can think of for the moment. My rare ones are listed in my rarity list I have online.
  23. I agree here. It doesn't seem that the downgrade was based upon any new influx of games, which I believe should be the only change in a game's rating. Care to tell us what these "discussions" are/were?
  24. Nevermind. Just saw this: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16379
  25. Just noticed yesterday that the rarity for Quadrun has been downgraded from a 10 to a 9. Why did that happen? Can't really see why it would be downgraded - even slightly. It's not like a new supply of the cartridges has been found and put into the market to make it more common or something.
