  1. Just a heads up to the AA crew: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1948005061 The seller linked directly to the manual and ROM file from that auction, and the seller is not familiar. I checked the seller's other auctions, more of the same thing. (not to mention insane price too!) If the seller did get permission, then OK, no problem here. Otherwise you got about 20 hours to complain to eBay.

  3. Yeah, a nice 486 laptop could be found for a lot less than $100 (even less if you get one with B&W screen) Just make sure it has sound out!
  4. I'd have to get that copy. As long as we're on adult themed games, why not do something similiar to Beat em and Eat em for a much more modern console? Oh say, a Gameboy Advance? I'm sure that would really steam Nintendo.
  5. That's right especially since some of AA regular have actually programmmed for the 2600 and knows its limitation and quirksn that even the best counterfieter can't possibly know of. That was Flexured's mistake. It's like trying to pass a counterfiet bill to an FBI agent.
  6. Like you, I prefer the original Lynx, but calling the Lynx 2 a stripped down version is just totally false; it has features ADDED to it! What about STEREO SOUND and SCREEN SHUTOFF option? What exactly do you think they "stripped down" except for the overall size?!? It also feels every bit as sturdy as my Lynx I, but isn't painted like the 1st which totally sucks because mine is pealing off! I still prefer it because of it's larger size and the fact that I can use my SEGA Super-Wide-Gear screen magnifier with it which totally rocks! But I sure wish it had the features of my Lynx II... Well, if you've played Lynx 1 with the internal speaker's volume all the way up and play Blue Lightening, it'd bring down your house!. Do the same with Lynx 2 and you can probably still hear cricket chirping outside. Maybe it's because I'm hard of hearing but I can *feel* the difference in sound output and Lynx 1 literally rocks.
  7. No wonder I can't find anything at local Goodwill They are auctioning off stuff ala eBay. And the worse thing is it's even harder to inspect goods from the auction for anything like ratting, missing battery covers, corroded contacts, or covered in some mysterious brown stuff that you don't even want to know.
  8. I don't think I've seen that one before. But why would the box only show 1986 when TV Land (a cable company) didn't exists back then? I'm pretty sure the 1986 only refers to the original copyright for Mr. T himself and not the CHia Pet. And Homer with an afro- HAHAHA!!
  9. Anyone could easily mae the double ender. AFAIK Spike Peak/Ghost Manor is the most common of all double ender so feel free to rip apart your dups and convert it to other double ender games. For an easier (and lazier) way, just superglue 2 carts together, end label to end label and you have an instant double ender. I think someone sold on eBay Pac Man/Ms. Pac Man double ender this way.
  10. AFAIK 2600 was slapped on Atari because 2600 used to mean something back in the old day (free calls at pay phones, it's illegal now)
  11. Hey send me the money and I can send you grade F Flexured certified groun horse meat. Hey, since the horse's been beated to death why not put its carcass to a good use?
  12. I just checked the dictionary and guess what, Flexured is listed under the word "moron" He's had a few months to "correct" the screenshots and he never did. The green hand is still there, the super impossibly sharp screen capture is still there, and the sword sticking right into the title is still there. Not to mention a strange looking prototype cart that no one has ever seen before. At this rate, a *real* proto just may turn up before that moron figures out how to correctly fake it.
  13. Just take the SNES to Radio Shack. YOu know their mottoe: You've got question, we got blank looks. Anyway who knows, they may have leftover Archer brand or other generic SNES power supply for you. One Radio Shack near me had Game Genie for Gameboy (the original) with the clearance sale price of $40.00
  14. I remember getting original Lynx with CG. There was no box for the game though and the rarity rating probably factors in the game box. It'sw so frickin' hard to find a box for CG, loose or with game and/or manual.
  15. From the look at the web site, it appears there's also a version with 2 or more LEDs so maybe a multi-LED version would work? I've already requested a sample and I'll see what I can do. Maybe overdrive that LED with higher voltage?
  16. For those of you with Linx that has burned out bulb, finding a replacement bulb could be a major PITA so I looked around to fix one of by Lynx 2 and I found something that just may work: http://www.lumitex.com/lcd_backlighting.html Any expert here care to give them a try?
  17. Ok I've played around a bit and I found a certain order in stage 4. If you go the whole way without hitting a single enemy target, you could be awarded 3 different points. 10,000 is what you get if you go quietly. No message or anything. If you use afterburner in the begining of this stage, you will get this message. And you will be awarded 30,000 points at the end of the stage along with "GUTSY BONUS!" message. If you blast through the second part of canyon, you will get this and you will be awarded 65,000 points (WOW! ) The actual message with the 65K bonues. I couldn't get a clean shot of the 30K bonus message (still experimenting with Lynx screen shots as I don't have Lynx emulator or roms) and I haven't checked to see if you still get 65K or less bonus if you used afterburners through the second part only. I think the scoring may be: 10K for not hitting enemy target plus 20K for using afterburner in the first part plus 35K for using afterburner in the second part. I'm still checking to see if there's hidden message or bonus elsewhere in Blue Lightening.
  18. Didn't that service at one time ran Q-Link service for C64?
  19. In level 4 (password: BELL) there's a couple of hidden messages and a bonus. If you enter the first canyon with afterburner on, you get the message "You've got gut!" and later on if you're crazy or good enough, you could use the afterburner again in the second part of the canyon, you'll get the message "You're crazy!" Finally, there seems to be 2 different kind of bonuses at the end of stage 4: "Gutsy Bonus!" worth 30,000 points or "Lunatic Bonus!" worth 60,000. It seems if you go through the whole stage without firing a single shot, you get the bonus but i can't figure out how to get the 60K and not 30K. Also any other hidden message or bonuses in the game? I could try and get some screenshots next time I play to see if I can catch them. It's really hard to get the second message as you have no room for error and reduced manuverability with afterburners.
  20. Not counting NTSC/PAL variations and not counting games with different title/label/company (ie Sears) there's probably about 500 unique games for the 2600.
  21. I got to ask something. The auction description has "AND IT's GUARANTEED TO WORK!!" and that would lead me to believe I could still hook it up and download games to play. Think the seller should have rephrased that before the bidder tries using it and ends up with AOL spash screen?
  22. Even though with that adapter you get better picture, you would still need to unplug that and hookup the cable or antenna.
  23. I just picked up an used Lynx 1 system cheap ($10, with Electrocop) but a lof of the black paints seems missing from the side of the system, leaving silver-grey behind. Would you know what's the best way to fix it up so the Lynx looks lince? Also where could I find a sun visor for it? I have one for my Lynx II system but I read somewhere they don't fit. (PS with Electrocop, that's one game down, abut 20 more to complete Lynx collection excluding homebrewns)
  24. Or you could open up the 7800 and replace the godforesaken plug inside with something more standard like the mini phono plug so you could use any 2600 adapters.
  25. I know there is a thread on this, well over 100 posts. It was mostly programmers picking apart the game's source code for explaination on the mysterious "JD" initial and to figure out the scoring scheme. The conclusion is the perfect score would be impossible because apparantly the programmer changed something (likely related to JD thing) that caused the last few points not to be awarded at all.
