  1. Not sure if I have this post in the right catagory,so please forgive me if it is not.I have a first Gen xbox system (Ver. 1.6)that I would like to trade for an Atari Jaguar system. The xbox is like new.Comes with everything.I have even installed a used, but like new,Samsung cd drive. This drive will read anything you can throw at it,Even burnt cd/dvds.I even have the new surge protector/ac adapter. It also comes with two great games.Halo 1 and Half-Life 2.I would like to trade even up for a Jag system in same condition.I would also like to have a copy of tempest 2000 with it.I wuld be willing to pay shipping to ship the xbox and you pay to ship the Atari.I have also installed new thumb sticks in the controller.Thank you. please let me know if you should have any Questions.
  2. I know that the first batch of the Atari 5200 4 port systems were made in the USA.My Question is,Does anyone know if any of the 2 port systems were made in the USA?Would anyone have one for sale?
  3. How much for the games?0 2:56 PM' timestamp='1262465795' post='1911033'] Most on that list, are available from me, as well. Except, cheaper. Example (not all of them):
  4. Has anyone seen the prototype of the 5200 self centering controller? Has anyone tried to make one of these? It looks like it can be done. This would be a God sent for us 5200 users.I just don't know were you would get the spring loaded module for the joystick. How would the wireing be done?Would the 5200 read the controller, since the pods will be gone?I would think that you could just leave the wires that would go to the pods,un hooked.I would love to talk with anyone that is as pumped about this as much as I am.
  5. Thanks guys for your input.I just don't know what to do with it. I hate to throw it out, because it is a heavy sixer! If I decide not to fix it,would any of you be interested in it? I think I got like $15.00 in it.I can say that the red wire is not factory.Makes me think there is a short in the switches or in the bord.I wounder if a light sixer top case will fit.Maybe I can transplant the guts from a light sixer to this heavy sixer case.
  6. I need some help from you Atari fans.I bought a heavy-sixer from e-bay the other day.I bought it as-is,but I thought it would still work since it is an Atari.I took it apart and noticed that someone has daisy chained a red jumper wire from switch to switch. I also noticed that the power adapter switch is shot.even the bord has a burnt spot.My question is,do you guys think I should restore it?It would be no problem for me if the case was in better shape. The front bezle is warped, and the casing is pealing.the wood grain is also faded(turning black) I just don't know what to do with it.I want to restore, but is it worth it.It as a heavy sixer and,it does have a low S.number.Does best electronic sell a new mother bord and, control bord? Can the top and, bottom case be restored? I have never posted a picture on this site, but I will try to get you guys some pictures. Please let me know what you think.Thank you.
  7. I have a Question About the paint trim color of the heavy-sixer joystick.I have a mint Joystick that has the orange paint trim.I have a chance to get another Heavy-sixer joystick, but the trim paint is yellow. Both sticks have the springs and,the hex disc handel.Nether stick has the word top.Can some one please help me out here? Could one stick be from 78? From what I understand the heavy-sixer stick was made in 77 only. What is the true color of the 1977 joystick? any help would be great.Thanks.
  8. With game systems so advance today, does anyone perfer there old Atari over X-box or PS3? If you are like me,then you are sick of $60.00+dollar games and, systems that brake down.I do love my X-box but, there is just something about the Atari, that keeps you coming back.It seems like when a new X-box or PS3 system comes out,it makes my want to play my Atari more.Is it in my head?I guess I am just to old school.
  9. With Christmas just around the corner,I was wondering if,there was such a thing as Black Friday back in 1977? Was the Atari 2600 sold out in stores? Does anyone remember if they were hard to find? I believe they sold for $250.00!this seems like a lot of money back then.It would be 3 years before I would get one.I did get one for Christmas back in 1980.I would love to know if someone had some store fliers with the Atari system in the add.Something like what you would find in a Wal-mart add.
  10. I have a heavy sixer that has the Atari logo wore off and,the wood grain is in bad shape to.My question is,Will the top case from a light sixer fit on my heavy sixer? I know the heavy sixer has the rounded corners, but I think the tops are the same. Thank you.
  11. You know it makes me mad, when people make fun of my Atari. What I mean is,some of my friends think I am craze, for even having one. When I fire up my Atari, they say things like, man those games suck.Is that a baseball,or is that a tiny square? or they say the worst cut down of all,I can get those games on my cell phone.Man,that one hurts! I tell them that,if these games are so bad, then why do some of these Atari systems, cost more than your xbox 360.Then they laugh even more.I tell them to check out Ebay.I don't even bring up,the Jaguar is it or is it not,64 bit issue.I am just so tired of these non,Atari fans. They all make fun of Atari.Even some old school gamers. What is up,with all these young gamers, that were a Atari shirt?I ask them,Do you even have a Atari system? They then give me this look like, what are you talking about.I just have an xbox. aman that makes me so mad.Its like, then take off the dam shirt.Anyway,Has anyone, checked out the cost of a true Atari Heavy sixer lately?I have seen one sell for more, than the cost of a sony ps3,no joke!So I guess I am the one who is laughing now.
  12. If you could change the way games are now made, would you go back to carts,or stay with CD disc? I for one, would go back to carts.I don't like paying $59.00 for say,a new xbox game, and then get a scratch that makes the game junk.(my halo 3)It just slipped out of my hand. Now Will not play! For one thing, you could always depend on a cart.I have found Atari games, well over 30 years old, that played like new.You did, have to clean the carts, that did not have the old dust covers. Now,I know that the CD'S do hold more infomation, but at what cost?I just don't think, games should be on a CD disc.Atari carts, just seemed to be so well built.(until they went to the open air carts)I thought that cd's were suopse to be real cheap to make,Well they sure are not cheap to buy.Does anyone know, what it cost Atari back in the day to make a cart?If so,what would it cost today? What do you guy think?
  13. I don't know if this can be done,But I got a brain storm the other day. I was thinking, could I remove the stock cable from a CX-40 joystick, and replace it with the stock cable, from the 5200 controller? I would just take the direction wires, along with the fire buttons, from the 5200 cable, and rig them to the CX-40 Bord. I know that I will not be able to use the pause or reset wires, without adding a switch of some kind. I, think that this would work for games like pac-man. This would also solve the no centering issue. The main Question is, will the 5200 let you do this this? Will the 5200 system know if, the pause and reset wires, are not connected? I, remember that some 2600 games would only play when you pressed the fire button. You did not need the reset switch on the console to start a game. So this is why I would take the fire wires from the 5200 cable and mod them to the fire wire termnal on the CX-40 bord.Once again,Would the 5200 system allow you to do this? Does the 5200 know? Can this be done? By doing this, I can use the standerd Atari 5200 plug. I, should be able to just plug the CX-40 into the 5200 system. I know that this will not work for all games, but It should work for the games, that need a centering joystick. If this does work, could someone mod me a pause and rested switch? Any help would be great. Thanks.
  14. Did Atari, ever make a 5200 power adapter, that was made in the USA? All I have found was made in korrea, or taiwan. If so, is there a part# I need to look for? Thanks.
  15. Ya, I have just seen these games on ebay tonight. I would love to have a copy of Taper, but not for $100.00 Does anyone have some screen shots? I want a copy.
