Complete/Updated List of CV homebrew games
goldenrod replied to goldenrod's topic in ColecoVision Programming
Thanks! That will be very helpful! It used to be so easy to keep track of the 140 +/- legacy titles and handful of homebrews. But the last decade has been fantastic for CV owners...no better time to be in the hobby! I'll look for your updated list - thanks! -
Does anyone have or know where to find the most complete/reliable, up-to-date list of CV homebrew titles? I've found various sites but none appear all encompassing or updated. Thanks!
-
SOLD! Where do I sign up???!
-
Isn't Mario Bros. a relatively recent, CV homebrew release -with 3 or 4 variants produced? Isn't it still fairly easy to acquire at a reasonable price??
-
This looks GREAT - and continues to challenge the next generation of CV homebrews. So professional. Congrats on your efforts and continued progress!

Which games would you like to see in 2015?
goldenrod replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Rip Cord AND Zookeeper in progress?! Have I died and gone to heaven?! Thanks!! Any screenshots or either -with ANY progress- that you could pleeeease share? -
That's what makes collecting SO great, isn't it?! It seems everyone has their own, personal reason or niche. Some folks just like to play the games and don't care how; they're fine with an emulator and a PC. Others like the original console and a handful of used, loose carts will suffice. Then there's those who want the full monty -box, instructions, game, etc. And then there's the SuperCollectors, who want a sealed copy of every variant ever produced and maybe another loose cart just to play. Some love the artwork, others are in it for the gameplay. What a GREAT hobby (or lifestyle)!

Cool! Who's developing Rip Cord and Mr. Turtle? I've always thought Zookeeper would be excellent but can the CV handle that many sprites onscreen at once? There's a lot going on at high speeds. That said, what about Food Fight ? -
Ah...there you go -thanks. I know so little about the Super Sketch that I had no idea it was hard wired to the cart. It would be quite an endeavor but I wonder if there's a way to make a new Super Sketch device hardwired to a cart, which could piggyback additional carts onto it -like a cart that plugs onto another cart- to play additional games. The peripheral and drivers would be in the main cart and the separate games would connect through it. I'm CERTAIN it would not be financially feasible but one can dream, can't they?!

I completely agree. That's the point I was trying to make too. I've supported Eduardo since the beginning and he's always been trustworthy. He may have bitten off more than he could chew -and coupled with personal issues- it became too much to handle. Granted, that's NOT an excuse to go AWOL ...not when you're running a business. I know it was just a home business/side project and not his main source of revenue but if you're (Eduardo) going to take people's money and EVER expect to be taken seriously, then you have to at LEAST be professional enough to take 5 minutes out of your day to update those who've paid you money. Everyone has issues, I understand. But if you take someone's money, then you DO owe them something -even if it's just an explanation. It's not like those people who sent money gave it to Microsoft or Sony. It was to an individual; there WAS a certain level of risk involved. But if nothing else, based on Eduardo's prior reputation, I truly think he'll make good on his promises. He has a LOT of P.R. work to do with his image but I believe he'll follow through...hopefully sooner rather than later.

Yes, except the SGM titles all play on the original Colecovision via an expansion module, not a complete, separate console. To exclude those would be like excluding any arcade ports (including the pack-in game, Donkey Kong!) because they are just ports from arcade originals. Similarly, all ADAM games would have to be excluded then too, since they can be played via the ADAM expansion. I think that as games can be played using the original console -either directly or by way of some sort of expansion (SGM, ADAM, Super Action Controllers, etc.), then they should be considered "original." Once the core hardware is completely eliminated from the equation, then you're no longer playing the original console.

That's a bummer. I see both sides. Very frustrating for those who paid and were promised a product. It's not good business to do that to your otherwise very loyal fanbase. That said, however, he has always made good on his word and it wouldn't make sense for him to go through so much R&D and other efforts just to scam a few thousand dollars. If no one's heard anything, maybe things are worse for him than we can understand. At the worst, some people are out MONEY -and that sucks. But there's nothing that can be done about that. Just give him time (I know, the question is how much time) and I'm sure he'll resurface and make things right. He's always been good for that.

GREAT point, Jordiway; I agree completely. At that point, all the CV2 would be is an emulator. It would play original CV games but wouldn't be the original CV. And it could play versions of games from similar consoles. I don't know of any Atari fans buying a Colecovision, so they can play 2600 games. They just buy a 2600.

Has there been any talk of any kind of new Super Sketch controller being produced or other software for the Super Sketch? It seems like such a rare item would have several potential buyers interested...and a whole new realm of potential games for such an odd device.

Count me in for one of EVERY one, please!

I hate to feed the trolls, so to speak, but I've been out of the loop for awhile. What happened to/with Opcode? I get that he hasn't filled the orders and that lots of people are upset -I see LOTs of posts about that- but was there a reason given? Is there a health issue? Work related? Was any reason given? I'm not trying to pile on, I just want to know if anyone's truly heard an explanation. ?

Thanks. There must be some setting difference. I don't have that option. There isn't even an option/button for me to add a photo. I hovered over everything. Can you paste a screenshot of the toolbar you see? This is odd. Thanks again.

I think these boxes are gorgeous! My problem is... do I buy another set of games to put in these boxes? I want them all! What are your plans for the inside of the box? I've noticed some people have used foam, some just made empty boxes and some created tabs to hold the games, like the originals.

I've created an EXCEL version of the Colecovision Games Checklist. In this format, it seem much cleaner and easier to sort/edit/add/delete data and fields, as necessary. Now *I KNOW* it is far from complete but that's why I made it for the public domain. Hopefully others can help fill in the blanks. The clunky Word version floating around seems to be the most thorough, though it's far outdated. I put in games I knew about though I'm SURE there are many super-collectors out there with knowledge of several more games or variants, which I'd gladly welcome to the list. But...how do I UPLOAD it to the forum? The 'My Media' button only lets me search and download -not upload..?

RIPCORD #2431 (by Exidy) HORSE RACING #2442 (by Fidelity) MR. TURTLE #2432 (by Coleco?) SKIING #2436 TUNNELS & TROLLS #2441 (by Flying Buffalo) Let's get that catalog "completed" -
Is there a template(s) for the Colecovision boxes? I'd like to create some boxes for some of my homebrew games and would prefer not to start from scratch, if there is a template available. I don't want to step on any toes, in term of copyrights or "feelings." I love the 3 basic versions of the boxes that Collectorvision creates and I'd like to make some designs for the loose carts in my personal collection.

Sorry if there's another thread for this but I haven't found an updated one. I'm looking for a complete, up-to-date list of ALL known Colecovision games -original, homebrews, demos, variants (i.e. boxes, software [Victory, Destructor], etc.). I've got my personal list in Excel format but is there an "official" list or one most CV collectors rely on? Thanks!

Just received my SGM and for anyone still waiting for it, simply... it's everything you never thought it could be! It IS - really! From the packaging right down to the very last detail. In fact, it's the details that should put this in the 'Homebrew Hall of Fame'. Kudos, Eduardo! But speaking of packaging... upon arrival, I noticed the box had been damaged due to shipping. I totally understand how this could happen and don't hold Eduardo accountable. What I was wondering is, Eduardo, can you make additional SGM boxes FOR SALE separately? It would be a win-win for everyone. They've already been created, so just another run would need to be produced. It could generate a decent amount of additional revenue for Opcode, because I bet people other than me would like to have one. Whether to replace one damaged during shipment or to give your already well-used SGM a like-new look, they could be packaged and shipped inexpensively, FLAT, and assembled more easily at home. And since it's for an item currently in production, it wouldn't degrade the original, like, say, a repro game box, because it WOULD BE an original box from the original producer. Anyone else on board with this idea? Boxes for us = cash for Eduardo!
